i have a midwife ap at 11am. cant wait. hope i get to hear the h/b.
i shold really go and jump in the shower asap but there is something interesting just come on the telly.

Morning all,

Just going back abit to age i turned 22 2 days ago
And any advise on headaches there killing me iv never suffered with them before driving me mad!
When you all say triple test which ones that?? i just said yes to all the test as was so nervous on my first mw app so think i must have had it done.

Congrats on the 16 weekness! I hit it in 2 days, huzzah.

This triple test jazz, I think I am going for it - I just dunno what I would do and I think its unlikely there will even be any question but if there was anything serious it has implications for my girls as potential care givers....I reckon the 12 week scan woulda showed stuff though so I am seeing it as a MW appt and hoping they can hear baba....

Be interesting to see the kids reacting to blood tests too...

I'm having the same problem with headaches at the moment charlie_brown. Star-dust said she got some tips on dealing with them from her m/w yesterday so hopefully she'll share her new wisdom when she's next online

The triple test is basically a blood test that checks for chromosonal abnormalities and it's generally used alongside (although not necessarily actually done at the same time) the nuchal scan. Mine was done when I had the scan so I got all the results at the same time.

oic yes then i had that done at the same time as my first scan all was clear, you have to have so many test i never know what any of them are for.

Her wisdom would be muchly appreciated right mow lol.

OO have decided to go by my LMP (also the beginning of this thread was never changed so meant to be! lol!) My last one was 2 weeks early, and I knew they had those dates wrong! (I had a dream a week before he was born saying 14th Nov weighing 8lb 13 ...he was born 13th Nov weighing 7lb 13oz

also hubby (i think hes wrong and he was imagining this!) but he was pokeing me tummy last night and he swears he felt something, not kicking but a movement? er! I said not possiable till Im around 20 weeks, I know I have defo felt it but he cant yet ! but hes adament!!

Just got back from the midwives app refused the triple test and she said that hardly anyone has it done these days. Also i heard babys heart she didn't even have to try and find it she just put doppler on and got it straight away so relieved bubs heart rate was 154ish so not sure if that points to girl or boy any guesses ladies?

Faun - Brilliant, Always a relief Im guessing a lil girl. When i heard my babys heart beat she never told me the rate is this normal because all you ladys know the rate of yours???

It would be great if it was a girl i am secretly hoping for another princess as my youngest is a girl and it would be great for them to be able to play together and share a room. If it is a boy i won't mind though and my son is hoping for a brother as his sister does his head in. I asked what its heart rate was so i could tell oyu ladies she said she doesn't normally tell people.

Arrrhh so you have 2 liluns already bet there very excited, i think if its below 142 they say its a boy but you never know what to take as true, how long until you can find out?? Will you be finding out or leaving it as a surprise?

My hubby really wants to find out so i will let him have his way we have our next scan on the 5th May so hopefully we will be able to find out then unless bubs has its legs crossed. My other 2 kids are very excited especially my son as his birthday is 1 day before my due date and he wants bubs to be born on his birthday. My little girl isn't that excited she just wants it to be born so she can feed it peas! yeah i have no idea where that came from but we were asking her what babies eat and she said healthy things like peas so i said not milk then and she said no just peas lol. It made me smile lots.

Yay faun!!!! Over 140 is meant to be a girl isn't it. Mine was 171 at our 12wk scan.. probably all the leaping around my uterus that the LO was doing!

I wish I'd turned down the triple test, I really do. My scan was great, it was only my hormone levels that increased the risk level. If I'd turned down the test then I wouldn't have any doubts lurking anywhere in my mind.....

Hiya whn i first heard flump's heartbeat it was 164, second time it was 162! =]
An i had the triple test whn i had nuchal fold scan, came back as low risk =]
An my OH an Mum felt the baby move earlier in the week =]
It was kickin the crap outa me so i grabbed me mum, an after she had a go i got stu to have a feel lol =] x x x x

Kids do say the funniest of things - my OH lil boy wants an OLDER brother and sister hes calling hes little brother fishy lol and little sister carman lol when we go shopping he plans all the clothes hes going to buy and tells me how to dress a baby hes only 3 but always makes me smile hes brilliant! I cant wait to feel baby move not sure il be able to tell but sure i will from what you ladies are saying

Hmmmmm, seems I was wrong about having had the triple test..... I've just been digging on the internet and it seems what I had was the combined test, ie nuchal scan combined wth blood test which looks at HCG and PAPP-A levels. This was at my 12wk scan. The triple test looks at HCG and two other hormone levels and is done between 15-20wks, so I'm not sure if I'll be given that as well or not.

Did anyone else get the combined test when they had their 12wk/nuchal scan?
