Ok so they arrived, oh my god how big are they! But Ive studied how to use them on the internet and it doesnt seem so daunting. We last night but didnt try them.

Do you girls use them every time you BD? Or just around O?

This is probably tmi - but when you are talking about not having a wet patch, we get one straight away so cant see how using one would stop this??

but we had been tryin for a while so we were in hardcore mode.
this time its only our first month so we didnt get after it like we could have

Well, AF is officially here after eight days of spotting (after O) this month (never mind the 4 days of spotting before O). Very unhappy with all this spotting. It can't possibly be 'normal'... But anyway...

Here's what I do to avoid the wet patch. Immediately upon withdrawl, I place a washcloth against me. That keeps stuff in there while I get the softcup. I raise my hips up, and can get the softcup in without leakage. I do find that right around O time, stuff doesn't come out immediately, like it does other times in my cycle. I'm assuming that's because my cervix is open and all the stuff has some place to go.... (?)

I usually just use them around O time. Other times, I just use the washcloth... How does everyone else deal with the mess when not using softcups??

SquirrelGirl hun, I'm sorry witch got you too. She got me this morning after a very nasty temp spike which had me planning a father's day bfp for my DH. : (


Anyway-as far as the wet spot goes-we really try only to BD in missionary position during fertile time (although sometimes try face down butt up as my dr. said that was good too). Either of those positions, if done with a pillow usually help to keep the stuff in there and nothing really leaks out if I don't stand up. I keep my softcup by the bedside and afterwards DH helps prop me up a little better with the pillow under hips good and he gets me the softcup.

There really isn't much I can suggest for the rest of the month. Usually we use a towel after and I kinda do an unsexy hobble to the loo with the towel like a diaper and used to try and sit on the toilet and push the rest out and then wash up or shower, otherwise it just gushes down the legs. But I'm kinda living with it now, b/c I've been ttc so long even times I don't think I'm fertile I'm scared not to try and keep them in. I don't use the softcups all month but I don't really try and push them out either. Just kinda deal with the mess.........I just wear crappy leggings or pj pants and deal with it. : (

Hello, ladies, I'm new to this forum and kinda new to ttc. We are in our 2nd cycle ttc #1. Currently CD8 - of an irregular long cycle (37-52 days). We would like to try everything we can. This cycle, I'm starting pre-seed, vitex and would like to start instead cups. I was wondering, how long do you leave them in? I've been doing the prop bottom up for 15-30 min after BD. Is that enough time? Or do you leave them in longer, even after the propping up? I'd also love to join this forum, but I don't yet have an O date in the near future. I didn't O until CD24 last cycle, so going by history- I probably wont be testing until at least mid-July. I'm heading to purchase the instead cups today, so I'll let you know when my expected testing date is.

Hi Goldimama! Welcome!

I lie in bed too with hips raised for about 20 min. to an hour-and I just like to put the softcups in after about the first 10 minutes for about 12 hours just to keep anything in that would otherwise leak out. I think most the girls leave them it about 4-12 hours.

squirrelgirl- i saw you have a yoga journal. started to read it but quickly realized i dont know how to do yoga! even though i have always wanted to learn. i cant get out to a gym, theres no time for that. i already walk on my tread, do some stretches, and meditate occasionally. think i would really enjoy yoga too any suggestions where to start????

Hello girls,
I know this is going to be a bit hard to control-and obviously can't-but mwahxx has pointed out that we have a lot of softcup stalkers who don't put in for test dates or AFs but will pop in with a bfp for pma.

The more the merrier! If anyone out there is using softcups it would help us tons if you let us know-esp. if you plan on announcing a pg here ever. The reason being, is that this is a testing thread to give people an idea of the accuracy of softcups. We are keeping statistics. So if 100 people use them and 50 report bfps and 50 report afs then we know we have a 50% rate. But if we have a lot of mystery softcup users out there that are only going to post bfps then that is really going to mess up our statistics, if they aren't ever reporting bfns, if you know what I mean? Just wondering if you could help us out with that if you are a softcup user stalking this thread but haven't actually posted before but may if you get a bfp.
