Struggling TTC#2 - A thread for Pics, Positivity, Pontificating, and POAS!

Hi I'msotired - how are you doing? How the is pregnancy progressing?

How's everyone else here doing? Do we have any updates?

I just had my 7 week scan and heard the heartbeat - so pretty relieved. The doc also said there may have been a twin, what they call a vanishing twin, where a gestational sac starts developing but then stops. To be honest, we were sort of glad, b/c the idea of having twins and our 15 month old is kind of too much! I'm too old to be doing this! Hope everyone had a good weekend.

I am doing okay. Had a very early ultrasound yesterday and sac is measured 5w2d. My hCG has been rising beautifully but I was put on progesterone suppositories because my progesterone dipped. I have another ultrasound in one week and still a few more rounds of bloodwork to be safe. I have very few symptoms and I'm nervous but overall things are looking good. Finger's crossed!

I hope all is well!

That's great, I'msoTired, glad to hear everything seems to be going well. I'm on progesterone suppositories too, as I was with my DS as well. It's a giant PITA, but well worth it. I think I'll stop them somewhere around the 12 week mark.

Hi ladies

Coming in to join... What a great idea this thred is for TTC no 2.

My little boy is 3 in November, when I fell pregnant with him I was on BC for about 7/8 years. I fell pregnant within the first month!

Naively I thought the same would happen again... I was wrong! We talked about TTC last year but I didn't feel ready so we agreed June this year and even then we put it on hold again because of other things happening but thankfully decided to forget that idea and start in June. Still no luck and I can't help but feel deflated and so disheartened every month when AF shows. I had one month where I noticed my boobs were unusually sore so tested and tested and tested and BFN! I promised I wouldnr test again until this month!! Me and OH DTD for about 7 days straight and in between I had a little bleed and have majorly sore boobs the past few days. AF due tomorrow so I did the one thing I wasnt going to do and tested...BFN!

I'm also slightly scared something is wrong as for about the past year when my period starts I get excruciating pains I'm my bum usually when I go to toilet but usually only then. I have been to the DR and have had several diagnosis all of which I haven't believed. The first one was a water infection then it was muscle spasms and I had to take an inhaler but this was only after she said she didn't know and would look in to it and call me. I have a specialist app tomorrow. I've read and googled everywhere and the one thing that keeps popping up is endo 😞 hoping this isn't it!

Anyway that's my story... Sorry it's a long one.

hi ladies! just updating to let you know NOTHING HAS CHANGED! still no af, still no ovulation, still no bfp. just hit two months off the pill. maybe Oct will be my month.

Thought I'd check in too :)

SoTired and KB - So awesome to hear things are progressing well for both of you.

Welcome Amie! Sorry to hear about your problems.... and I do have to say, as I read your story (before I got to the end) I was thinking endo (which I've recently being diagnosed with myself ) Just try to remember that the important thing is to figure it out. If it is something that might be working against your fertility, the sooner you know the better, and even if it's not - it's best to find out and make sure that it's not something that could complicate (or get worse) during a pregnancy. FXed for you that it's nothing major either way :dust:

AFM - What a month. So many bad side effects and so little progress from Clomid (still O'ed at CD 19). Then today when I went to get blood work the doc on call told me I didn't need it since I temp and use OPKs - which goes against everything I can find anywhere. So today I called and set up an appt with an RE. And I felt less stressed the minute I got the appointment. Just knowing that there's already a Plan B in place makes this month seem so much easier.

glad to hear you have an appt coming up with an RE Krissy! Hopefully you won't need it though! :)

Glad to hear things are going well kbrain and imsotired!!!

welcome amielh!

hopefully you will have an exciting update soon Sarasmile! :)

AFM- either 3 or 4 dpo... not temping this month so not really sure. Pos opk on the 25th. This is cycle 10 ttc #2

KrissyB can I ask what symptoms you had that made you get checked out? I haven't even thought it may be really serious all I can think about is that it's something that is effecting my fertility and having a baby is something I want more that anything. Think having Finley on the first month of trying made me take it for granted a bit. Sat here in the waiting room and I know AF is coming as I am having pressure movements down there.. I am working away in London in October when I am due to ovulate so I know next month is out 😢

Thought I'd check in too :)

So been for my consultant app he thinks it's muscle spasms and it is brought on by stress of trying for a baby etc.. I did tell him that it has been going on for over a year and I haven't been trying that long. He says he's 99% it's not endo as I would have other symptoms. After a look we talked two options... 1 I can't do as I am trying for a baby and it would be to use a cream but it hasn't been tested with pregnancy and the other a colonoscopy what I don't understand still is why only when my period comes??

Amieh your doctors sound awful. I also have been suffering with excruciating pain in my bum, specially when going to the toilet, along with pains in my stomach. I've just recently had a pelvic examination. I'll get the results tomorrow. I think you should push for a PE too. Good luck x

Feeling rather Icky today. Tired & a delicate tummy.

Hope everyone is well xx

Amielh - For me the first thing I noticed was that I had short luteal phases then I started getting EXTREMELY painful periods. Like, on the bathroom floor curled in a ball wondering if I should go to the ER kind of painful. I went for an ultrasound and they found a large complex ovarian cyst (5 cm), which they've tracked over time and are now fairly certain is endo. Everytime I go to the doctor they ask if I have pain with intercourse, urinating, or with a bowel movement. And the answer is pretty much yes to all, but with varying levels and frequency. Fortunately, one of the best ways to treat endo symptoms is by getting pregnant lol - so luckily the doc was on board with trying to help me get there as fast as possible.
Sorry your doc wasn't more helpful.... I would definitely try to push for more information and/or get a second opinion.

Corall - Hope your result all come back well... sorry to hear about your pains as well :(

:hugs: all around and lots and lots of :dust:

CoralInGold do you have those pains on your period or all the time? Good luck for your results, please let us know how you get on.

KrissyB that sounds awful, at least ur DR are all for you getting pregnant and helping you get there.

I'm going to see what my next examination shows and go from there I have booked another DR app today to discuss things with my female DR. I feel awful as I haven't been trying that long but just feel something isn't right especially with my pains.

Still no AF today, not much pressure either but had cramping tonight. I feel it won't be long..

And... What's with all the babies. At the moment there is announcement after announcement on facebook, my neighbours are pregnant and seeing lots of new mummies at nursery..

Welcome Amielh! So sorry to hear about all you ladies having pain. :hugs:

Glad to hear things are going well kbrain and Imsotired. It gives me hope.

Last month AF ended up being right on time so I never ended up testing. I think I'll O in the next day or so so getting as much bd'ing in as we can since after today (when its peak fertility of course!) DHs work schedule will not permit. :(
Who would have thought TTC #2 would be so hard! Seemed so easy the first time around!

I'm in agreement on all the pregnancies! Seems like everyone is expected and it's driving me nuts!!!!

Anybody trying anything new this cycle? I've been hearing about pineapple core helping with implantation. May give it a shot!

:dust:

hey ladies! I think I may finally be ovulating. cm is stretchy and cervix is higher and softer. had heaviness and soreness in abdomen yesterday and nipple are very sensitive. here's hoping something is finally happening!

Great news Sara!

I agree everyone is having babies! Won't be long for us ladies :hugs:

Amie - I get pains all through my cycles. I'm not sure whether it's coincidence as some months are very painful & others not, but for 6 weeks now I've been taking multivitamins & omega fish oil. I feel all round better & my previous period didn't even feel like a period it was that much of a breeze! No pains, no tender boobs!

Had my results back today. I have a retroverted uterus, also known as a tilted uterus, which basically means my uterus tilts towards my spine rather than my cervix. I've had a research & it's not known to affect fertility so thats a relief! My left ovary is slightly enlarged which is where I get my pains the most, but my right ovary is all good & my PCOS is under control.

Now let's make that baby! :dust:

FXed Sara - sounds very promising! Time to start BDing! :haha:

Coral - Awesome result! Congats!

Coral that's great news.. I bet you feel some what relieved..

AFM... AF arrived today! On to next month although I don't hold much hope as I am away when I'm due to ovulate!

Coral I too have a tilted uterus! The only thing I have had drs tell me is that it can possibly increase risks for UTIs which I used to get very frequently. Baby dust to you, seems we have a lot in common.

Hey ladies! My spit ferned this morning to confirm my fertility. Only thing is that today I had no cm again.what the crap? Only 12 hours...is that normal?

Thank goodness I can come on hear and read about other women trying as honestly... I seem to be surrounded by pregnant people, many of whom already have a big family and seem to get pregnant easily (although behind the scenes that might not be the case). My best friend is due in 4 weeks... I was hoping to be pregnant before she gave birth... seems unlikely this month we just aren't managing to bd much, I haven't been well and we are both tired. First month using ovulation strips... so far no positive. Its CD11
