The Northern Ireland Crew!!

i really hope u get a water birth!!! i had my heart set on one but they poppy decided it wud be appropriate to crap in me wen my waters went, hence stuck on that dam monitor the whole time. aiming for home birth next time.

Are you planning the next one already?!

well id like to try it at least. My sister had her 3rd child in the water and she said it was so easy and she hardly needed to push.
Your brave wonting a home birth, but im only saying that as im thinkin the worst about labour lol
Planning on just using Gas n Air

Gas and air rocks!! I hated it with Charlotte, but I was induced and on drip... I popped Bridget out :)haha:) with just G&A and bouncing on the ball - and she was 11lb!!

lindsay.. i cannot imagine having another child alongside ruby... i think it would send me to the funny farm, shes more than enough work for me lol...i think ill TTC when shes about 25 lol

When my twin sister had her wee boy i went down to the hospital wit her un til her partner came, she had asked for Gas n Air and she hated it said her mouth felt liek pins and needles, well she said here try it OMG o near feel of the chair it was like being on cloud 9 didnt like the feeling much.

tbh i thought it felt like being really stoned just. (at the start!!!!!) i wouldnt really call it pain relief either, i think it just helps u deal with the pain better. kat- i know wat u mean!!! the thought of having pops plus a newborn is a terrifying thought, but then i think we might now get a :bfp: for a good while again, plus we have the 9 months im preggo to prepare lol! can u even imagine having poppy and ruby????

G&A made me feel drunk. I felt it also intensified every pain I had (oddly I get a really clear mind when drunk ). Pethadine did crap all for me either. :dohh:

I'm with Kat... nowhere near ready to TTC. lol

When they gave me G&A with my first  it just made me feel out of it and like my head was proper heavy!
Didn't help with the pain at all, and just made things worse 'coz I couldn't concentrate and wanted to boke!

Gunna give it a go with this one anyway, wouldn't like to do it with nowt at all!!

Nuke start TTC again now!! Imagine 2 Poppys! They'd be so cute..wrecking the house together lol.

My donor is coming up (no pun intended  ) on Monday night, I'll be CD14, so hope the timing is ok!! Then we're goin to Belfast on Wed to see Imogen Heap!

good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck for Monday, have fun Wednesday!
I've got a consultant appointment Wednesday, last one before I move

:dust: For you Liz, we'll all have our fingers crossed x

Leah - Still got a cold? MUST see you this week before you go! I'm basically having a consultant appointment every alternative week now - was at the diabetic clinic yesterday and am now monitering blood sugar levels. They are keeping a close eye on my LO but looks like it could be Gestional Diabetes :(, in which case my Diabetes doctor (who is a lovely man) has said they will want to transfere me to the Ulster or the Royal.

If I go to the Ulster my consultant will still be part of my care because he works there too - but Im not sure which is closer etc.

Should worse come to the worse what do you ladies advice? Getting to belfast for appointments when I've a hospital 20 min walk away is crazy, and labour...who knows? That scares me quite a lot.

Emma, yeah, I'm not too bad now, but feeling the effects still, with LOADS of packing... I'm sure one afternoon out wouldn't be a killer though... hmmm... have to be careful I don't pass it on....

Gutted about the G.D :( That sucks!
About the transfer though, don't be fooled - I had a letter out telling me they were closing the LVH maternity/labour ward and I would be transfered to the Ulster / Royal etcetc
[obviously I'm moving though, so it's not relevant to me! Could be why they're moving you though??]

I wouldn't really know about which to pick, but the Ulster home from home does look lush....

Oh sorry to hear about the diabetes, how do you feel about it?
As for moving hospital if you think about it best going with the closest one.

Yes - they were suprised I didn't get the letter but the unit is changing as of 1st of feb (currently under construction) and anyone with medium risk due around/after that they are advising to transfere. G.D puts me at high risk, but they generally would advise more specialised care and thus a transfere.
I won't be using home from home obviously...cause I'd be high risk! So strapped up to moniters with an induction :( but it might not happen.

Diabetes doesn't bother me, my whole life it's a disease I've been very aware of and know needs to be treated with respect - I can handle that. I just want bubs to be ok, G.D babies obviously have a chance of being a lot bigger and also an increase chance of shoulder displacement during birth. I don't want my poor baby all pumped full of insulin :(, though my finger is slowly turning purple with all the times I've pricked it.

I have no idea which of the two hospitals is closer - I was also offered Craigavon if it was easier, but having never been to Craigavon I don't think that'll happen :p
