Just an update with what is going on with me today.....
I got a pretty good second line on my test strip today and my OPK today which is super duper dark like i am OV'ing, which there is no way that I could be since i got my positive OPK earlier in the month... (which i used just out of curiosity)

So... I am feeling optiomistic, but I am still not convinced until my AF is late and i can get a definate strong line on a store bought FRER. I have one first response left that I am going to use on the either the day AF is due or the day after.. AF is due on the 22cnd.... Does anyone thing the HPT test strip looks any darker than my first post of one.. Any thoughts about my super dark OPK???
Here is the link to my HPT link if you feel like looking at my first pics of my test strips I did several days ago.....

Any thoughts ladies????
I'm sorry, I don't think it looks any darker......but I do see a little something, so there's still hope. I have two frers and, like you, I would rather not waste them so they're still unwrapped so far. Part of the nagging in the back of my mind says to try it though because you never know the ic might be wrong, and then I get sad at myself telling me why should I use it now so that I can get a bfn on a more expensive test? Arg.
I found this really interesting article about the sensitivity of the HPT tests. According to this website the test strips are 20 miu sensitive...
https://www.babyhopes.com/articles/whenpregnancytest.html
These things stood out to me in the article:
A test with the sensitivity of 20 mIU can pick up a pregnancy at 6-8 days past ovulation but the percentage of women who get a positive this early is relatively low. A much higher percentage of women get a positive result at 9 or 10 days past ovulation.
The Downside to Sensitive Early Pregnancy Tests
Sensitive pregnancy tests (20 25 mIU) allow you to know earlier if your attempts to conceive were successful and get medical care as soon as possible, but there is a down side to very sensitive tests.
Unfortunately, 25% of all pregnancies end in miscarriage and many of these being very early pregnancies. If you use a very sensitive pregnancy test, where you test before the day your period is due, you could catch an early pregnancy and end up going on to have your period anyway due to a very early miscarriage. If you had waited to test until your period was due, you wouldnt be aware that you had a miscarriage. Some women will find it very hard to deal with this sort of emotional roller coaster.
In Conclusion
If you are familiar with your cycle, and you are emotionally able to deal with knowing about an early miscarriage, testing at 9 or 10 days past ovulation with a sensitive ( 20 25 mIU ) pregnancy test can yield a positive result in a good percentage of women.
I was scared when I read the part about how the test strip is so sensitive and it picks up the pregnancy early and that you may of had a miscarrage if you test positive and than the period comes, that is scary.....
