it was my uncle's partner who told me. we wer discussion abortion (obviously lets not get into that) and when it is acceptable, i brought up the rape issue and she was telling me it's to do with the link between psychology and physiology. another example is, when couples who have a lot of issues when ttc adopt and get pregnant not long afterwards. or go on holiday and relax only to find out they are pregnant wen they come home. i dont know how accurate it is, but shes a councellor specialising in infertile couples so i duno!

Me and OH TTC for about 6 months like nothing ever before lol! Got so fed up and down about nothing happening and BAM, like that I was pregnant the next month. Just as I had given up on it all!

haha! Yes, I believe there are accidental pregnancies, mine was, after all, but I am so glad we had the accident, my lil man is my life!

I just hate people who don't use contraception and then say it was an accident, really, they planned the pregnancy by choosing to have sex without contraception!

I am really struggling to find a contraception that suits me. I have the implant in. But it has caused weight gain. All the other options seem to cause weight gain aswell. And I refuse to just use condoms because that's how Aidan is here. Looks like the implant is staying in

I KNOW. OMG, I was sooo stuck with extra poundage after my first because of synthetic hormones. I can't do that again and condoms ruin the entire experience for me....so..

I am really, REALLY trying to get OH to 100% agree to a vasectomy. I could get tubal ligation done at the same time as my cesarean but that would be MUCH harder to reverse if I ever wanted to. I think he's going to go for it....I'm keeping my fingers crossed anyway!

It is possible to get pregnant by accident, but if it happened to me I would never use that term to describe the pregnancy.

My Mum conceived my half sister whilst using condoms and also got pregnant whilst on the implant (but mc), my sister got pregnant after the condom split and she took the morning after pill.

I assume Vicki means her sister took the morning after pill but it didn't work. It's actually only about 90% effective so not as good as pre-conception contraception.

I'm not too sure, but I think its 97% effective within 24 hours then goes down to about 70% effective at 72 hours...

My son Jacob was a suprise, blessing etc but no accident! I was on bcp at the time so thought I was preventing it but God had different plans for me

I have a friend that had her tubes tied after# 3 well she just had# 4 she ended up pregnant within a few months after getting the procedure!

When I got pregnant with DD I was on the pill AND using condoms. I wouldn't say she was an "accident" though. So yes I do believe it can happen although like you said if you really didn't want to have babies you just wouldn't have sex.

The thing with contraception (any form) is that NONE is 100% effect even when used correctly. Just a chance you take I suppose.

I totally understand that accidents happpen but some people are just asking for it IMO.

I hear about people all the time who say "i wasnt using contraception but i got pregnant" well wtf did they expect to happen?? Its just plain stupidity and ignorance.

(btw not talking about people who have been told they cant have children and then a little miracle happens)

I agree with you 100%.. There's having sex without using contraception and conceiving & then there's using contraception and it failing.. It's complete different scenarios

There's certainly no accident if people aren't using any contraception. Unless they are like 13 and weirdly sheltered and don't know what they doing which I suppose might happen in 1 in 10 million!

Oh, I know, I know soemone who's mum got pg twice on the pill!!

We say my husband has supersperm haah!!

We werent using contraception as we believed with having PCOS for 12 yrs and almost zero periods it was highly unlikely I'd fall pregnant anyway. But as luck would have it, we did. We werent planning on having kids together but as of next week we'll have a fabulous shiny new toy in the house, and the pair of us are utterly in love with him.

women on tv shows that test something like 10 men at a time need to be taught what an accident is because thats not one either. maybe some sex ed for them on what the consequences are to having sex with a lot of poeple around the same time of the month. They make my skin crawl.
