in hawaii! not really from any state in particular as I am a navy brat...after living nearly 30 places in my 28 years I dont claim anywhere specifically. then i married a navy man so we have moved now 3 times (2 times in the same area just different cities)

omg i JUST got home from work. missed lots of posts. longest night ever but i made awesome money soooooo it's ok. and my oh comes up and helps me do all of my work stuff after i have finished with my tables. and my bosses love him so it could be worse. i love the coming home outfits you guys have picked out! i'm still really not sure what i am going to use still. i have WAY too many things from people giving me stuff already and i never thought that would happen. i plan to take some sleepers for sure and i will have something for the professional picture they do. for both my boys the pic was hideous too but we will see. not a whole lot of extra money here to spend on an ugly picture. LOL

I still have a lot of detail work to go on it if you've looked at the link. Was going to hold off on doing all the cars and such BUT since I'm way ahead on it already, I'm going to work on all that a little at a time.

how cute is that???? i am renting so can't paint either. but i bought decals....now if i will ever get them up on the wall remains to be seen. apparently they are super sticky and seem to take the finish off the wall. i'm not happy but i still want my tree decal.

We rent too but my landlord is pretty cool, doesn't care. When we moved in here that room was in Dora the Explorer colors from hell, Dora herself would have shot the person that painted it the way it was. We called it the migraine room.

Wow I miss a day and the thread doubles! Welcome all new ladies!

I bought a coming home outfit but it is basically a onesie with some pants and a little hoodie with ears. I love all the cute baby jackets with ears. So far I have three of them and I know I will get more.

I know my hospital does baby pictures but I wont buy them. I have a nikon dslr camera and after I got pregnant my husband bought me a really nice portrait lens. Before I would just take glamour shots of my cat but baby boy is going to be my star subject now.

I hope all you ladies can beat the heat. My fav thing is to run some cold water in the bathtun and stick my feet in it. Husband is heat intolerant too so he joins me and we talk about our day.

in our room where baby will be for a while we have this very light colored wood looking stuff. it is definitely NOT the classiest look. where we live the rent is VERY high. it's the number one school district in our state and a very diserable location because of that alone. recently we had the option to move to another house that our landlord had but it was WAY smaller. and it just wasn't a smart move. i wanted to just to paint. LOL but in all honestly the wall isn't too bad and goes well with my tree and animal decals that i can't really put up because they want to peel the finish off. i still haven't figured out what to do. we actually have a spare room for the baby but my oh is completely set on the baby being next to us at least a year. sooooo i can't argue with a wonderful man being protective. he has become so protective of us. it does make me smile though. in my previous marriage with my other 2 boys they had their own shared room and were sleeping in there pretty quick so i know there isn't anything wrong with it. but i figure i will let him have his way with his first baby! i don't give it too long before he is ready to move lo OUT!

i love all of the hooded things with ears too. it's my weakness. funny you said that. or the little hats with ears. i am also partial to footed things with ears that look like puppy dogs or teddy bears. love it! i have something i might use as coming home but i'm not positive.

does anyone know what a day dress is? apparently when my oh and i were babies (we are both approaching 30) this was THE thing you did fancy dress in. my oh's mom brought me a big box of his things as a baby. which was so sweet of her because i know what it's like to turn loose of something special like that. (i figured she must finally like me. lol) anyway, they are felderman's brand maybe??? something like that. and they look like cabbage patch gowns or something. she seriously thinks that one will be our lo's coming home outfit. and honestly i might do it just for her. my oh is not happy about the situation. he is not a traditional person by any means. and hates them. he says "no boy should ever wear a gown and bonnet!) i like looking at the stuff. but i don't think i want my boy in a bonnet either. ok maybe once for one good picture!

i wanted to guess it was like $30 for the smallest package. or a little bit cheaper...maybe $25. just get that and sneak over to walgreens or walmart and print what you want in whatever size. a lot cheaper and then you can do it after the intial shock of not working a while. well, at least that's what i'm planning to do. both my boys weighed almost 9lbs and let's just say, they had somewhat of a squished head at first. their pics are sooooo not cute. we will see. i got the littlest package just bc i felt guilty. but i dunno this time. i would rather spend money on a tiny baby photo op or something. which don't seem to be too horribly expensive.
oh and happpppppy due date! friday the 13th is over. baby can come now.

i thought i was going to slap somebody last night. i have a lot of new coworkers who are mostly just lazy. that's ok. i always close and they couldn't go anywhere til i was finished with them. i bet they think i am psycho.

My son is estimated 10 lbs so if he does come out vaginally his head is going to be super cone shaped!! And thank god friday the 13th is over, I actually started getting lots of convincing BHs at night on the 12th, I was not too happy about that but they ended up stopping anyways!!

Oh and newbies are always fun to play with LOL.

Buy a book called baby bargains or go to babybargains dot com. Ikea has a crib set that comes highly recoommended. Babyrus also have a some nice cribsets on clearance in their store and on the website... Good luck. Seems like everything is so expensive.

I don't know where I would be if it wasn't for the baby bargins book. I think I got it on Amazon for less than $15. It has really helped weed out the nonsense and find quality items at lower prices.
