We have recently moved from a tiny flat to a house and I really want to decorate it properly. We have an amazing tree but that is it as far as decorations go. What else do you have? Pictures would be good too if you have them!

Other than the tree, we have some Lighted houses, little figures of carol singers, santa sleigh and reindeer, some small fake trees and fake snow, all adds up to make some little villages, and i have some random santa and snowmen with dangly legs etc i need to get a couple more lighted houses and some things to put on the walls.

We have the doorway decorated in tinsel. We put festive bells on the fireplace and the picture frames. We have two mini trees and a Christmas candle holder :)

I have a wreath on the front door, garlands on the banisters, ornaments on the kitchen window sill, garlands with lights on top of the kitchen unit, nativity scene, fireplace, cards up on the kitchen door, children Decs for DS' bedroom, advent house, tea lights, baubles on door handles and ribbons over picture frames. I go a little all out

I stuck baubles under the wall cupboards in the kitchen. I also tie a few together with ribbons and hook them over picture frames and bookcases and I also put tinsel on the stairgates.

This year I want to make paper snowflakes and hang them in the windows.

We're still building up a Christmas collection but we have santa, reindeer and snowmen for the kids rooms and toying with Christmas paperchains this year, and small fibre optic trees.

For downstairs with the tree and stockings hung, we have two three ft christmas bears, usually one at the top and bottom of stairs. We also have a big multiple snow globe ornament that plays music and skaters twirl around (the kids love it) and some ornaments and candles on the shelves. Oh, we also have a wooden red stars christmas card garland that I'll be hanging at an angle under the shelves in the lounge too. And tomorrow we're making huge snowflakes to hang from the ceiling in the dining room :)

Heres some pictures what we've put out so far... :flower:

Oh I forgot I have a felt Christmas tree with felt decorations for DS to play with.

We have a wooden sign that says joy, peace, noel that lights up and a nativity on the window sill in the front room.
The shelves have a wicker heart that says noel, theres a tartan garland with wooden stockings on and knit stockings all over too.
Kitchen has a pretty candle on.the table, a glitter noel sign and ive ordered some bunting too.
Theres a tinsel star in the hall way, wreath on the front door.
Both older girls have a mini tree in their rooms too :).

I also have a merry christmas tealight holder and a merry christmas sign to go up. I want to get a poinsetta too :)

A big Chritmas tree in the living room along with Christmas cushions, a Chistmas canvas print, and smaller decorations for I top of the fireplace and stockig. On the front. I do not have anything for the side table but am thinking it could do with something subtle.

In our bedroom we will have a double bedding set and matching canvas and in the kids bedroom we have single bedding sets, a small Christmas tree, a 'happy Christmas' bunting, and some electric 'candles' and stockings for the fireplace.

This year we got a Santa soap dispenser, a 'Ho, Ho, Ho' bath mat, and Christmas hand towels for the bathroom. These are going to look a bit tacky probebly but the kids will like it.

We only have a small dining room (in order to give the kids a big playroom) but I think we will be putting a few small bit on the fireplace and windowsill in there. Plus on the big day a fully decorated Christmas table. For the most part the room is not big enough to do much with.

I hang stuff all over the house, I hang larger decorations in the hallway

All the pictures are from last year so not sure if I'll add any extras this year yet, I'll wait & see all the ideas on this thread. x

Marmaduke - the more I see of your house, the more I want to hire you to decorate mine!

Oh and on topic not a lot. I have some sparkly twigs and flowers that go in my tall floor vase, a few homemade stockings and a liberal splash of tinsel on every picture, shelf or anything else I can put in on.

I now want to fill a vase with lights and baubles though!

Marmaduke, can I hire you to decorate my house?

I have things on the wall
Foil decorations hung from the ceiling to the middle of the room
Stockings on the fire
Tinsel on the TVs
Some christmas banners
Christmas ornaments

I'll add some pics tomorrow :) xx

I just stick to my living room but I dot ornaments about, Christmas it up a bit. Tinsel some pictures, usually swap some of the photos in the room for more Christmassy ones, snowman the door, put out our North Pole sign. I decorate the fireplace and the window too.

I really wish I had a fireplace to decorate for christmas, yours looks so cosy with the lights going round it.
Fab tree too. x

We let lo and when son gets older him as well pick a new decoration each year. We have the Christmas cuddly toys from year daughter was born which have 2011 stitched on (from tescos, she has reindeer, Santa and snow man) we will get son for son this year. My daughter picked out a duck that dances and sings when she was about 17 months which she adores, we have a Rudolf soft toy, a singing Rudolf whose nose lights up and sings Rudolf red nose reindeer and then tinsel oh and a nativity. They are picking new one this weekend at Christmas fair. We are going to make paper snow flakes and Olaf for window

We have a similar dilemma! I have picked up a couple of extra bits, but house still looks a little bare in places (mainly need something big ish to stand on the window will of our big front window).

So, other than a tree, at the moment we have some Christmas bunting in the archway between our living and dining rooms; a Christmas advent train on the sideboard; advent candle and some smaller candles on top of the fire; stockings hung either side of the chimney; tinsel wrapped around the banisters, fairy lights in the windows of the conservatory and then the odd freestanding small item dotted about.
