If I let myself focus too much on symptoms and hopes, I get too depressed when I see that BFP, and probably also keep my body in a continuous state of anxiety which doesn't help anything!

To pass the time this week (when I'm not at work), I'm planning to:

1) Work out more (but my cat always sits on my lap right when I'm about to get up, I swear!)
2) Pick up a new book. i just finished reading the fourth Game of Thrones book but need a break from Westeros for awhile.
3) Cook something new. I saw a recipe for coconut lentil soup that sounds tasty.
4) Surprise DH with something. Maybe a treasure hunt that leads to a card and a small gift!

What do you do to keep yourself occupied during this time? :flower:

Hi!!! Usually I work on projects (house updates/DIY projects) or my craft projects.. currently I'm working on a family tree quilt for my parents! Also planning dd first birthday and making her bday cards! So I am trying to keep my mind busy!!!
How many dpo are you??

Oh that sounds lovely! Happy soon to be birthday for your dd, that sounds like fun. Are you going with a specific theme? :)

I'm on CD 21, not sure what dpo as I don't temp but according to ff I may have O'd on CD 18, so 3DPOis my guess!

Hi lemon-tree

I fairly recently started to make my own earrings with supplies from a local craft store that specialises in stuff for making jewellery. That seems to keep me pretty occupied, it's fun and I can make earrings the way I like them

For me its the usual household chores, well it should be but I end up sitting on here for far too long!! I have done some ironing this morning so not been completely bone idle! I do cross-stitch, but I don't get round to doing as much as I would like!

Thank you!! We are doing an elephant theme, but light on the elephants lol, mostly grey/pink/gold with elephants!! I think it will turn out good!!! I'm excited!!! :)

Pinkpassion - I love the sound of that! Have an awesome time! What lovely colors. :)

Natnee - what kinds of things do you create with cross stitch? I have friends who knit, I need to get them to give me a lesson or two.

Kat079 - Do you make them as gifts, or sell them on etsy? There was a time when I was hating my job more than normal where I wanted to quit and just make a living selling crafts on etsy. That dream didn't last very long. Its hard work! Did you teach yourself or take a class?

At the moment I'm making them for myself but soon dare to start gifting them to family members:winkwink: My MIL's birthday is coming up at the end of April so need to see what I can come up with that's her style.

My MIL actually paid for a class at that store as part of my Christmas present so I learned a couple of things at it and have been practicing my technique. Still need a little more practice as I'll still make the occasional mistake and have to clip over wire/headpins that have been poorly done which go to waste:dohh:

My MIL is even more talented and makes them from scratch since she's taken lots of classes on melting/soldering (I think it's called) metals. She has a tiny shop on the internet where she sells them along with her handmade purses. I don't think she sells much but it's just something for fun.

I haven't decided yet if I want to start selling, will first have to improve a bit first I think:-k

I just do pictures, and most of them are just in a box. I have also done a few samplers for friends/families babies and weddings, but that was before I had Belle so don't do as much as I used to. At the moment I am working on one for Belle, this one -

Kat079, your MIL sounds really nice. I think it's wonderful that you've got that as a creative outlet and that the two of you have something in common. Where do you find your inspiration?

And Natnee, I love that! What a sweet picture. I bet Belle will adore it, too.

Ok, I officially need to find my inner crafts person. The trouble for me (apart from an immense lack of skill) is I need to be thriftier in my supply gathering. When I do make things, like wreaths or bracelets, I spend far more on the supplies to make then than I would if I just bought the thing brand-new! ;)

I just look through the store webshop every month and find stones, crystals ect. that I really like and then try and figure out what type and length of earring would suit best or what I would like if it's not a special shape, choose the appropriate size (if I can), headpin type and "color" (silver or gold plated) mostly after what best suits the stone/crystal color or otherwise just what I'd prefer and just get going. Unfortunately there aren't any books in this country with ideas, at least I haven't found any yet. The store does sell a book but funnily enough, it's on how to make earrings completely from scratch so it's more suited to my MIL's stuff and not what I do:dohh:

I've always been pretty creative so I'm good at finding earring projects every month. Sometimes I'll get ideas while doing a pair of earrings and will need to write it down for a future project since I try and keep a budget every month:winkwink:
