What is your final voting decision? *New Poll*

I must say i do feel that my vote was somewhat wasted, although i was unlikely to have voted Conservative, if i would have known beforehand that my entire area was an extremely strong Conservative area then maybe my decision would be different?

Who knows, whats done it done, we just have to make the best out of the situation :shrug:

Im stepping back too.

I dont think i was harsh at all, havent aimed it at anyone in particular. just think if people are so worried perhaps they would seek out the truth rather than spreading false information & making it worse.

Each individual policy is available in bullet points separated by "issues" on the Tory website. eg Defence or Welfare etc, cant remember labour or lib dems though :shrug: Ive got no problems with people asking "what is their policy on ___" but "they are cutting this, this, this and this i heard" doesn't really help ease confusion imo.

And i dont think peoples level of literacy comes into it. If they can post a misleading "quote" about a policy, surely they can post a question asking what the actual policy is about.

:shrug:

I agree if one more person says to me they are gonna close sure start centres I may eat my own head

Well, DC has been in No 10 for three hours and the sky hasnt fallen in yet, so we might all be safe enough :rofl:

I just can't beleive Clegg is getting such a hard time from his so called supporters. I went on the Lib Dem Facebook page and it's terrible! If you are a Lib DEm supporter you support the party and their leader through their decisions and ideas. Clegg really had no choice but to go Tory. I find it really small minded that people are telling him to fuck off, calling him Hitler and saying they wish they could have their vote back. It's so childish, I really hope he does well in this coalition, the fact he is deputy PM and they have 4 other seats in government should actually be a massive step forward for Liberal Democrat supporters, instead they are just slagging them off.

I thought they were introducing more surestarts or something :wacko:

:rofl: boofs!
I have to work. The Company hasnt collapsed under Tory rule yet... surprise surprise :)

No they're closing some surestart centres but keeping some around for lower income families. They are looking to hire more health visitors in the areas with no surestart centres as a kind of alternative i think

He obviously stood strong on his policies as DC has had to compromise a lot. I think this coalition could be a very positive change for the UK

Family
The Government cannot go on ignoring the importance of strong families.

They provide the stability, warmth and love which children need to flourish, and the relationships they foster are the bedrock on which society is built.

We are determined to give parents more of the help they need and make Britain the most family-friendly country in Europe.

A Conservative government will:

Work to improve Sure Start and increase the services provided in Children’s Centres across the country;
Provide 4,200 extra Sure Start health visitors so parents can get the expert help they need;
Introduce a new system of flexible parental leave so parents can share maternity leave between them or both take time off simultaneously;
Extend the right to request flexible working to every parent with a child under the age of eighteen; and ensure that the government leads from the front by extending the right to request flexible working to all those in the public sector, recognising that this may need to be done in stages;
Recognise marriage and civil partnerships in the tax system, bringing us into line with other major European countries and making 4 million couples up to £150 per year better off;
Open a new generation of good, small schools with smaller classes and top-quality teachers;
Support pensioners by re-linking the basic state pension to earnings, and protecting things like the winter fuel payment, free bus passes and free TV licences;
Work with local councils to freeze Council Tax for two years;
Reform the administration of tax credits to reduce fraud and overpayments, which hit the poorest families hardest;
Help make childcare more affordable by supporting the provision of free nursery care for pre-school children and reviewing the way the childcare industry is regulated and funded;
Provide more information and advice for parents and put funding for relationship counselling on a more stable long-term footing;
Review family law in order to look at how best to provide greater access rights to non-resident parents and grandparents; and
Help reverse the commercialisation of childhood, by clamping down on inappropriate advertising to children and letting teachers ban advertising and vending machines in schools.
These policies will give families a fairer deal and ensure that more children get the stable upbringing they need. Together, they mean we have by far the most family-friendly manifesto of any party standing at this election.

This is what the manifesto says the lib dems might have made some changes but I cant see them closing them all

I agree I don't understand why the supporters are giving him a bad time I think despite me hating the Tories its probably a good move for the Lib Dems, least they get some of their policies in place right!

I agree, so many LD policies have been accepted by Cameron that Clegg has obviously fought hard to ensure he doesn't let his supporters down yet still keep the electorate that voted Tories as a majority happy. There is nothing more he could have done except step down from both Tory and Labour and let them do it without LD help. But then no doubt he would have still got slagged off for being spineless or something. He was never going to be able to win whatever the outcome

They have scrapped this idea now

On the talk of this whole marriage tax, i thought your tax code changed anyway when you were married? Does anyone know much about that and how it works?

Yeah it was an "overwhelming majority" so I heard. Which just goes to show that it was the right thing to do in the end
