doubt i'll get anything even though i know i overpaid at the passport office. stupid eejits had me on BR for 3 months when i was a student

bet liams is messed up he has had 2 jobs for years...he got a rebate last year too

I am honestly worried sick about this, they said some people might not find out till near christmas!

Talk about putting us right back into recession!, over a million people having to pay back a extra £100 + a month when people are already struggling!

They have said that they may write some of it off.

Dont worry hun,its a drop in the ocean,the number of people who will be getting letters, when you consider the working population of the UK.

if we do get a letter saying we have to pay back we *should* be able to get ours written off because we actually had to send them ALOT of info last year to recalculate hubby's tax code because we discovered he had been paying too much, so if he has now underpaid it IS their fault because they had all the info to work out the tax code, still a worrying time

i don't really understand .. but from what i read it looks like even if u have to re pay money ... it will be next year ? and will be deducted from your wage in taxes ?.. and if u are entitled money back it will be in the form of paying less taxes next year ?! so either way u wont get lumped with a huge cash payout/repayment .... i think im confused lol "/ x

I read they were sending out rebates...which is what should be attached to the letter in the form of a giro if you get a 'nice' letter between now and Xmas.xx

If you are worried,call this number and ask them to check 0845 300 0627,I just rung them and asked and I overpaid... it may be a 30p refund I get but hell!Im getting something back from the tax man!Wooo!

think i'll get OH to ring them tomorrow cause it'll be him since i was taxed when working beause i was under 18 then a student
