witch got me ... but ... cd1 vitex

Cool. I'm taking 1200mg, which is 3 capsules of Nature's Way. But I've seen many women on here say they take 1600mg. Go for 3 if you'd feel better!

Ok, now I'm anxious that AF isn't here yet. Maybe that BFN just couldn't detect it yet. Eep!! I might test again tomorrow if no AF still!

Yea I think I'll take 3 starting tomorrow.

You ovulated CD19 and now your CD 35 with no af?? 15dpo! It's got to be a BFP! It's either that or Vitex is really increasing the length of your luteal phase.

good luck tomorrow!!

I think my luteal phase was 21 days or more the last few cycles because of the timing of EWCM and ovulation pain. So it's not too weird to be 16dpo, but now my boobs started getting pains so I dont know! Ahh! I took a FRER on 13dpo and it was BFN. I'm going to drive myself crazy! But, I should wait one more day. I can do that.

I'm a bit worried now as you've all prompted me to look at the ingredients list on mine and it has other stuff on it too :-/

Actually the GNC one has vegetarian capsules and no other ingredient I think. Just took a 1000mg this morning.

I've tried looking up negative reviews and comments about Vitex. I saw that while it helped some people with very irregular cycles, it messed up cycles that were regular. That scared me. I would love to ovulate early like CD14-17 but I dont think I can take the risk of having an even more delayed ovulation.

I don't know what I'll do... :(

I'm taking vitex also 2000mg in the morning. I finally got a positive opk today! I'm so excited!

Is anyone using Soy as well as Vitex? I've read about soy being called 'natures Clomid' but I don't know if they both do the same or if you should only use one or the other.

MemmaJ - I'm sorry, I didn't mean to worry you! Nature's Way has a list of "other ingredients" too. But it only lists the mg of the Vitex/chasteberry/agnus castus so that's the main/active ingredient. I included a pic of the back of the bottle. I'm not sure about soy, but I thought I'd read that it was better to avoid soy...? But I have no idea.

Flipporama1 - Yay! Congrats on your positive OPK! FX this is your lucky cycle!

Taima - I read those reviews too, but if you were ovulating late then it should help you there. I guess only time will tell!

Still no AF for me, and temp still rising. And still creamy CM. Trying not to get my hopes up too high because I've been disappointed every month. Testing this afternoon when the husband gets home from work! If my body is playing tricks on me again, I'm going to be SOOO mad.

Welcome everyone... Loving how busy the thread is. I am on cd4 and coming to the end of witch. Hope this is a good month for us all!! Xx

I decided not to take Vitex for now. Going to see my Gynecologist on Monday/Tuesday to see what she thinks about such a late ovulation and what we can do about it.

Still following this thread though. I know Vitex worked for many!

ksquared - have you tested?? Rising temps are a great sign at this point!!

Memmaj - do not use Vitex with soy. Bad idea. I read that they work in opposite ways.

Flipporama1- what CD is this for you? When do you usually ovulate?!

would love to hear how it goes with the doc this week xx

Taima - that's a good idea to check with your doctor first. Let us know how it goes.

It was a BFN for me :(. I wonder if Vitex increases luteal phase symptoms. I hate my stupid body right now :(.

Aww sorry it was a BFN. Your still not out till AF shows! Honestly I will never symptom spot again. First month ttc I got preg as I mentioned before and it was a chemical. I had symptoms 3dpo and loads more in the following days. Second month I had same symptoms and thought "I must be pregnant!" But no I was not. The only difference is that the month I got BFP I had implantation bleeding. And didn't have it second month.

I'll update you guys once I talk to her.

I always say I'm not going to symptom spot, but I can't help it. I probably won't temp next cycle because it only gave me false hope. Just waiting on AF now. I can't imagine getting a BFP after having a BFN at 18dpo. Also I feel like my symptoms aren't there much anymore. I know Vitex helped somewhat with this cycle, but it's supposed to work slowly so I'll just have to see what the next cycle brings. CD 38 today, so of AF comes before CD 42 it will be my shortest cycle since going off BCP in June.

Taking temps definitely add a lot of false hope and stress as it has done to me. The month I ttc again I will take my temp till I confirm ovulation and forget about my thermometer. Probably give it to someone to hide. I will need to confirm because I'm thinking to ask for clomid to up my chances since I'll only be ttc that one month only. I think I will be able to get it seeing as I don't have many chances to try and my ovulation is so late (CD21) and my egg is probably not that great at that point. Also considering the miscarriage. Won't be seeing my gyn soon since I won't be Ttc. Will update you guys if I get approved for clomid.

I'll be temping while I'm waiting to try. Want to see if vitamin C 1000, zinc 50mg (every other day), prenatals, and fish oil supplements help me ovulatory earlier for now.

Hi all :)
I too started taking vitex yesterday :) very excited to see the results but I know sometimes it can take awhile for it to be in your system.
I had two early losses last year and after my recent loss AF came 34 days later then 8 days after it finished I had another AF! So I doubt i ovulated.
Would like to get my cycles on track, there not massively irregular, they range from 30-35 days.
I have a nurse appointment on Monday too so I'm going to ask about getting my progesterone levels checked, just I case that it the problem but I'm sure the mid cycle bleed was down to my miscarriage. Had bloods done too after my losses and all were normal. So see how it goes :) x

Haveany of you taken vitamin b6 alongside vitex? I have heard that is meant to help regulate cycles too. I just can't find any information as to whether they can be taken together.

Hi Stacey_89. I'm so sorry to hear about your losses. I hope Vitex is the solution and helps get that beautiful BFP and full term pregnancy. Fingers crossed your appointment is productive and everything looks good!

Temp is finally dropping. Also yesterday I was woken up at 4am by the most horrible menstrual-like cramps. Also (tmi) awful diarrhea. It was so bad I almost laid down on the bathroom floor. I took Tylenol and was able to go back to sleep, and yesterday I was terribly bloated and gassy and still crampy. Still no AF, though. I'll take another test if AF still isn't here by the weekend. So weird!

I also ended up scheduling a doctor's appointment. It's booked as a family planning consult, but I want them to check my hormone levels and do an ultrasound to make sure everything is clear. If I want to see a fertility specialist, my insurance only covers 50% so I'm trying to make it more about my body and cycle instead of not getting pregnant yet. Hopefully they won't make me go to the fertility specialist to get these labs done. The fertility specialist consult is an hour long and sounds a lot more involved.

AF has arrived :witch:. I'm glad - I was tired of waiting! So first cycle on Vitex cut my cycle down to 41 days, compared to 51 days last time. And lots more symptoms in the luteal phase, and increased CM pretty much the whole time. I'm excited to start a new cycle and hopefully get a BFP! Or at least cut down my cycle even more :).

Flosie - I'm sorry, I didn't reply to you! I haven't taken b6 myself. Just prenatals since June and Vitex the last 6 weeks.

I haven't take b6 either but it is in the multivitamin supplement I am taking (in a 2.6mg dose). What dose are you taking?

I had quite bad ovulation pains yesterday and the day before, which is quite new for me so I'm hoping something is happening..! Could just be coincidence though, as I haven't been takings he Vitex long
