Wonder Week 19... What a Bi@*h!

Louie was great again for 2 weeks and now he's back to being fussy again. I think it's a cross between growth spurt/jabs/sleep regression, but I want it over with!

xx

hehe I text my hubby asking him if anyone at work wants to have a baby :P Cause they can have ours for a little while....

And it's true, it's a good thing our babies are cute, though it annoys me sometimes when he's supposed to go to sleep and he just smiles at me instead... especially in the middle of the night....

Atm I'm trying CIO for his nap, hope it'll work in the end :P Time for my 2nd trip up the stairs......

Sometimes I wake up in the night to hear funny little noises and I see Maria wide awake, playing with her teddies. I usually just try and sleep a bit more when she does that cos she might fall back asleep again but usually her squeaks and coos get louder and louder til I can't ignore them anymore.

Maria is still napping now, an hour so far, thats a good sign

she woke up now though and my boobies are killing me, she's eating at last now (wouldn't eat when she got up at 12)

For Godsake!!! He will not sleep at all!!! I just give up I feel like walking out of this rubbish job!

there must be something in the air! Lucas has had 1 nap so far....the CIO didn't work, I gave up after about an hour as he was due a feed..... fed him and am now trying to get him off to sleep on me (like I usually do it) and he is just laying there wide awake!!:dohh:

And I've got a headache now cause of all his crying...

Hubby has started working in a different department at work and now doesn't get his half day on wednesdays so I can't get my nap either...and he also doesn't come home for lunch anymore so I don't get a break then either.....

:hugs: to both of you

Maria just napped really well next to me on the bed, at least a couple hours and I slept too so feeling a bit better. She woke a couple times but I managed to soothe her back to sleep

Myka's naps have been rubbish today; I reckon we're in for a rotten night :(

Tbh I am thinking I might just go to bed when she does tonight - she always seems to manage up until the nightfeed and then all hell breaks loose...at least then I might be a little more refreshed (let's just say I'm not looking my best today:shock:)

I think we're going to attempt cot in her room tonight just to see if it makes a difference x

Eltjuh she is now 20 weeks and she was a week late. I would say she was back to her normal self middle of last week and the horrible period lasted a couple weeks. Honestly I know how you feel as I was in a right state and felt I couldnt please her but then overnight she changed. She was being fussy during the day and then not sleeping overnight so I do believe it was the wonder weeks. Hope it gets easier for you x

What I do when my LO wont sleep during day is take her out for a drive in car and then park up somewhere and take a magazine so im not bored and just sit and let her have half an hour. I find if im at home trying to force her to have a nap we both get stressed. She can be showing all the signs of being tired at home and just wont sleep then pop her in the car seat and in 2 minutes flat she's out for the count. Plus I get to catch up on the gossip in the magazine :happydance: Might be worth a try for some of you ladies

Maria keeps wanting to sleep but couldn't get her off just now and missed the window of opportunity :(

Well Lucas had an hour nap in the end this afternoon, ofcourse just after I fell asleep for 10 minutes he woke up, but hey! At least he had about an hour.... Then he started screaming again straight away, but after a while he was a bit happier... Then before dinnertime and during his bath he was just screaming again. Fell asleep just before me & hubby were having our dinner (not optimal but hey, better than having him scream!) But I fed him and put him to bed and asleep now.... So I'm having some mummy time now and will be following him to bed soon...

hope your night goes better than your day did!

Finally got Maria to nap just before dinner, only slept 40 mins but better than nothing

Well his first stretch was only 2.5 hrs so I'm not expecting much from tonight.....
Gonna try a new nap-routine tomorrow, try to get him to nap every 1.5 hrs (for half an hour, cause he usually doesn't nap for longer). I've already wrote the schedule down. Hope it'll work like I want it to.... Though I am going to breastfeeding group tomorrow (if it's not raining) so need to see if/how that fits in....

Well off to bed I go again.

Hope you'll get a good (ish) night.....
I reckon our babies should know we're due a good night by now :P

Got Maria down to bed an hour and a half ago and she's almost woken up a few times since but managed to get her back to sleep each time with the dummy. She never starts off the night with a good stretch, its usually only an hour.

Lucas has been waking up at exactly 4am for the past 3 or 4 nights. Even if he isn't due a feed yet. I don't get why he wakes up at the same time (and how?!) I've put his dummy in but after a little while he started moaning again. It's been about 20 minutes now and he seems to have gone quiet.

Does anyone know why he could be waking at exactly the same time every night?

Myka does this, I think it's an emotional/cuddle habit...someone suggested to me to set a little alarm for just before and to place your hands on baby's chest to try and get them pas that 'witching' time without waking. Don't much fancy setting an alarm but may a few days of that will 'reset' his system and he'll stop waking at that time? If your anything like me it's not so much the waking as the ungodly hour :flower:

Hope you've all ad ok nights? As predicted Myka was rubbish going down (took 2 hours) but she did sleep from 9 to midnight fed and the slept from then until now which is a dream at the moment!! Xxx

Maria isn't doing too bad tonight, two and a half hours the first stretch and now about 4 hours. Harder to put to sleep though.

Sounds like Lucas has got a habit there, I second the alarm recommendation. Sometimes when Maria is about to wake if I start soothing her - stroking hair/chest/belly she goes back to sleep without fully waking.

I've found a new trick to make her calm down if she starts screaming when I put her down - rub her belly quickly from side to side so that her whole body jiggles! Makes her immediately close her eyes!

Think they call it habitual waking... As MrsH says maybe try wake 2 sleep... daunting process though and don't know if I would dare!
