Wonder Week 19... What a Bi@*h!

Maybe! Well sat here in tears already! I am so tempted to go back to work and put him in nursery! That would be sooo much easier! I hve just put him down for his morning nap and he screamed hi heart out as I closed the blind! It was so bad that the first time in months I got him back out and sung to him... That didn't work so he went back in and 5 minutes later he was asleep! I really mean scream too!!! There was nothing up, he just was getting more and more OT!

My friend text to say her LO, who was born the same dy slept from 5.15pm - 6.45am... That made me cry too! I know he can sleep 10hrs solid but I have always fed him so I am half tempted to try PUPD! Jut don't know what to do for the best!?

I've got a feeling Lucas is slowly getting better, had a couple of quite good days and a couple of nights where his first stretch is slowly getting longer.aswell (4.5 hrs last night). Mhe also went back to sleep till 9 am-ish the past 2 days, like he did before, whereas durkng the wonder weeks he's been getting up between 6&7am. Does anyone who's come out alive on the other side recognise this??

Agh Dougie is still getting up twice a night!!! He has reverted back to waking at 11.30pm and 5.30am. I have had enough, to top it off my much loved pandora bracelet dropped of yesterday full to the brim with charms from the last 4 yrs symbolising some amazing events and some sad times too like the passing of a dear friend! Then had huge argument with hubby who then slept on sofa and walked out first thing this morning! All because apparently I'm 'a mess'!

Feel like I'm peaking and going to destruct very soon!

Me too hun, hope you come out the other side very soon :hugs:

How old is LO? Do you do a dreamfeed? I don't so I don't know the ins and outs but maybe a dreamfeed might sort out the first waking of the night - if you pre-empt him and get in there at say 10.30 to 11pm and do a DF he might go back down and then only wake at 5.30? He might even go longer if he has a full belly.

xxx

I tried twice this week with a DF and he woke even earlier than before. I think I am just gonna have to ride this one out and then maybe when we are at 20wks or settled down start again with a DF?

He is 17wks today, but 10 days late. I feel really down and teary... just cant see the light at the end of the tunnel with anything. I don't want this to be a ity me thread but I am lonely and nobody seems to get it! My mum thinks that I should keep him up all day so he will sleep at night but she doesn't get it. Mum's last baby was very prem and was in NICU for 4 months so came out with a very good routine and the ability to resettle himself. I also think she had all maternal bones removed when she had my bro. Because of this I cannot leave D with her and there is nobody else.

Just need another packet of chocci biscuits and all will be ok!

oh dear bubbaG, I know how you feel. I had a bad night, up every 2 hours again and she's been grumpy ever since sge got up for the day

we had quite a bad day today....until he slept again around 2 (I think) and he was a bit better... but he's asleep again now...Not sure whether that's good since he's supposed to go to bed for the night around 7.30.....Might try putting him in his bed now (get him changed into his sleepsuit when he wakes up) Could do with a good night tonight since I hardly slept last night, couldn't get to sleep :s hate it when that happens!!

But I'm sure he'll just give me the usual every 3 hr wakings again....

Eltjuh, I am wondering whether they are having an actual GS... a physical one? Cos Dougie has been sleeping well through the day, it's normally a fight and taking alot more milk than normal!?

According to Kellymom.com they have one at 4 months, and Lucas is 1 week short of that atm (but 2 weeks late) so he might've just come out of his, as he's been waking every 3 hrs for a while now and only just starting to pick up the first 4.5 hr stretch again... - fingers crossed that'll start getting longer and longer :P

But WW's can also make them demand more feeding during the night and make them wake up more often... (just checked it in my book!)

Good thing though: Lucas has passed a toy and his dummy from one hand to the other for the first time today!! YAY!! And he put his dummy in his mouth when I handed it to him! :)

I am in a struggle to get him to sleep now though... tried putting him down and earlier when he was napping but he woke up, so I sat and watched tv with him for a bit and then did his normal bedtime routine at the normal time, but he is crying atm... I left him in his cot with his singing (& lightshow) winnie the pooh, but I think he's realised that he's alone in there.... So better go in and sort him out now I think...

Girls I would love my LO to sleep like all yours!! Ben wants feeding every two hours day and night without fail! He takes an hour or two to settle in the evenings then is up every two hours (sometimes shorter) every single night!! He's 18 weeks today and just won't go longer between feeds!! On top of this he has always refused to take expressed milk in a bottle or cup and so I have done every single feed, every two hours, day and night since he was born. I feel like I'll never see sleep again.......

Its a nightmare trying to get Maria to nap in the day now, she won't go to sleep til she's so exhausted that she's screaming. She's usually up 2 1/2 to 4 hours between naps now argh. I'm really hoping for a longer sleep tonight now its cooled down after a thunderstorm.

Babyloulou... Jesus I am going to have a big Baileys hot chocolate in sympathy! I don't know how you are doing it! You must be as skinny as a rake! Xxx

Ha ha! I wish! You'd think karma would at least give me that but nope....

He's still awake at the moment refusing sleep! 3 hours after his bath and still here trying to get him to sleep!

You've probably tried everything already but just to check:have you tried him in different positions? I find my LO will not go to sleep on his back, at least nlt fast enough for my liking. So i tried him on his side and he is usually asleep within the hour. The past 3 nights he hasn't been bf to sleep so whn i put him down, if he moves around too much and triea to roll from his side then i just put his light&music winnie tje pooh on for a while and leave him. Then leave him to cry for about 5 minutes, go in don't pik him up but turn him on his side again and hold his hands or gently rub his side until he starts nodding off and then i just stand next to his cot, count to 60 5 times and leave the room and he's usally asleep. Only for 3 hrs but i think tonight i figured that he doesn't need a feed but just hos dummy at his first waking caus i didnt feel like he was actually drinking. I usually kust feed him though cause i don't wanna risk having to get up again within half hour. Anyway off to bed it is again for me.

Maria slept 8 hours last night, maybe we really are getting out of this stage!

Morning everyone! Well after finally settling at 1am Ben slept for 2 hours then woke again at 3, fed, went back to sleep for an hour and a half and then woke at 5am and won't go back to sleep!! So here I am at 5:30 up for the day after a grand total of 3 hours sleep from him!

Just when I thought we were going to get out of this early he woke up last night at 100 wanting to play and didn't go back to sleep til 3. Then he woke at 7 and back to sleep at 9 until 1pm!! What the heck why cant he do that at night? Then bedtime at 8 and awake at 9 ready to play. Fed him at 950 and he is still up playing now at 1030..... I was trying to get lots of stuff done before bed but looks like that's not going to happen. Everytime I walk away he cries. Tonight should be interesting.
