Does this mean I’m in fertile mode but not ovulating? I understand that the line has to be darker. Just trying to see where my app is right or wrong cuz the app says I’m in fertility but not supposed to ovulate til Tuesday. View attachment 1095887
I’m just learning about opks but I’d say it looks like you’re in a fertile window but I’d be looking at other signs such as cm. What CD are you at?

If your not to supposed to ovulate till Tuesday than it won't be positive yet.

Honestly it doesn’t mean much until it’s nearly positive, once it’s nearly positive it usually means it’ll be positive soon. If you are supposed to ovulate Tuesday based on your app, you may be fertile now, as it’s within the 5 day window. Your app could be a little off or it could be spot on. Hard to know without temping.
Here’s an example: My levels vary throughout the cycle. I use an app called Premom that quantifies the ratio of the test to control line (you want it 1.00 or higher for positive), and here’s what a bunch of my tests looked like this cycle. Personally, once I hit a ratio of 0.5 I know my surge has started, so after that level I test super frequently in case I have a fast surge (which has happened to me). But everyone is different! You kinda have to take it with a grain of salt until it’s positive, because we have baseline LH levels that can vary throughout the cycle.

@PinkCupcakes it was a frer. And this was back in 2015 when they were still the gold standard! Barely-there squinter and blank wondfo at 12/13 dpo!

Fmu there was no AF stupidly got my hopes up. Smu peed in a cup put on side and wiped and there is AF now the AF cramping started like straight away. Was hoping for lovely Mother’s Day tomorrow but nope onto next month. Unsure about next month as I never wanted a baby near Xmas.

Question for u ladies I am going for another progesterone test this month but trying to work out best day. I cn O cd 15 - cd 18 if I have cd21 bloods done not sure if get false results.

This cycle I had O cd 18 and had bloods done 7 dpo and was only a 9 but I only have 10 day LP so was probs too late.
So my question for a 10 LP when’s best to have the bloods taken.

From what I remember from when I was doing mine, 7 dpo should be peak progesterone levels. At a 9 I don’t think you’ve ovulated. What did your GP say? Your luteal phase doesn’t really affect your progesterone rise after ovulation. You’ve technically had a day 21 test based on your ovulation. How are you tracking?

A 10 day luteal phase is on the low side. It could certainly indicate a progesterone issue and borderline luteal phase defect. I would be asking for that to be looked at. X

@loeylo i posted in your other thread too but I don’t think there’s a problem- the other half of the “+” sign is also WAY lighter so it looks like the entire test just has less dye in it. The vertical line is still darker than the horizontal line in your last test, which is what I’d go by.
The reason I did another test was because I felt my symptoms decrease and I had some sharp cramps. My cheapie was light and then the clearblue was light. I did another cheapie and it’s even lighter.

So sorry to hear this @loeylo was hoping you’d have a better test today

I conceive with a LP of 10 days with my son and that was after fertility specialist tests and no progesterone issues then.

surely a LP of 10 would effect when I have my peak progesterone. At 7dpo surely my progesterone would have started falling by then. She did say 9 is not a definite did not O it’s an inconclusive result so hence why repeating it. They say 5 days before ur af is due but with me having LP of 10 days then 7dpo isn’t the best time.
Whole thing confuses me.

Maybe try pushing it back to 5dpo and see what it says. It really is just trial and error with this fertility stuff. I think if you’ve an early implantation with a shorter luteal phase it’s fine however later than 8dpo the progesterone has started to drop and isn’t enough support in place. That’s more the issue than anything. I tried for years to get progesterone support only ended up getting it during fertility treatment x

I'd say that's not positive just yet but it's close. U mite get ure positive tomorrow. Apps can be out mine always where.
I used to ovulate between day 13 and 15 but for some reason the month I fell pregnant I Ovulated on cd10.
So even if it is positive tomorrow and u O day 10 or 11 that's still OK its not to early.
I Was very worried when I O on cd10 because going on Google and a Dr told me that O b4 day 12 was no good because the egg not mature enough but it was a load of nonsense because I definitely O cd10 and here I am almost 12 weeks pregnant.

@JessaBear36
It's OK to O cd10 hon. I did the month I fell. So don't know why doctors say its no good because here I am and there's other womon that also O cd10 and pregnant.
I think anything from cd10 onwards is fine.

13 is great to.
I'm so glad to see ure ttc again and I really hope u catch again this cycle and it will be extra sticky and ure take home baby.

@Lozb
Awww man that sucks. That's happened to me a few times. Was a day or so late and peed in a cup to test wipe and blood. Sorry hon. Sending u extra baby dust for next cycle.

@loeylo
I'm so sorry sweet I was so hoping it was just a bad test and today's was going to be dark again. So sorry ure going through another loss.

I was being investigated for all mine even tho I didn't get far enough to get a scan. I bad a bunch of bloodwork in September to check my hormone levels b4 and after ovulation and then in December I had more blood work to check overion reserve and a few other things and I was booked in for a ultrasound to also check overion reserve.
I ended up cancelling it because I fell pregnant.

But when I had my midwife appointment she just completely wrote off my 6 chemicals and only noted my 10+4 weeks miscarriage.
Does make me feel sad because even tho they were chemicals its still a very early miscarriage and I don't think they should just be written off like that like they were nothing.

Yeh we ended up at fertility clinic before conceiving my son naturally as GP thought I had low progesterone but fertility did bloods on various days and it was fine. They jst thought I may have block tubes but then fell pregnant I am now fighting to get my tubes checked again but GP wants these bloods first. It’s nightmare at moment because of covid we have to book blood tests where as before u could just drop in which was easier to jst pop in after u thought u had ovulated.

Il try my best to explain it sorry if you already know all this. So ovulation occurs and after 24hrs if an egg is fertilised it secretes protein to alert the mothers immune system to lower to allow implantation. It takes 5 days for an embryo to reach blastocyst stage (basically means it’s hatching). It can take anywhere from day 6 to day 10 for the embryo implantation to complete. The average is around day 9. With a shorter luteal phase if the embryo hasn’t completed the implantation stage early enough the corpus luteum (provides progesterone support) starts to break down for your period to start and can’t support the pregnancy. So while it won’t stop pregnancy from occurring or you getting pregnant it can hinder your chances based on when the embryo implants.

Well, I've been feeling like af is coming since about Tuesday (earliest she was due was Wednesday) she's still not shown her ugly face, but the feeling is getting stronger. All I can think is ovulation got pushed back a good few days, maybe the stress of everything with my lump (which turned out to be harmless) or, that I've some how gained a couple of days on my LP giving me a "normal" length. It has been 12 for a few months now, but when we first started ttc in July it was only 10.

On the lp subject, when ttc ds4 I discovered after 2 years of trying that my lp was 6 days. SIX! Managed to get it up to 9 and conceived in 6 months. When ttc ds5 it was 10 days. I conceived after 7 months but miscarried, it continued at 10 days and took a further 2 years, 11 months, to actually conceive again. So I was actually pleased with my 10 days to begin with after he was born :haha: but it seems to be naturally increasing.
