I went to my dr maybe two months ago? It was just a routine gyno appt but she asked what we were doing for bc and I said nothing and when she found out we'd been trying since August, she said we should do some tests. So I had my thyroid and progesterone checked (both fine), then had a post-coital (also fine). After hearing from so many women that you couldn't get help until you had been trying for a year and sometimes longer, I wasn't even going to bring up ttc to her, but I am so glad she is willing to help.
Hopefully since it's been even longer for you, your dr will keep moving forward with whatever is next for you.
Our son was soooo easy... we were ntnp and had only been for maybe four months. Then I went on bcp, and honestly, I think I wasn't even o'ing for the first few months when I came off of it. Never doing that again.
Yeah, the rule of thumb with most Dr's is that it can take a "normal" couple up to 12 months to conceive. So, if you've been trying for that long they can refer you out to a R.E. SOME ob/gyns will refer your out more quickly, moreso if you've been keeping charts, using OPKs, etc. Something that shows them that you're not O'ing, or some other fertility problem. My last ob/gyn was cool for like appts and what not, but when it came down for me asking for testing for PCOS to rule stuff out he was a jerk. It runs in my family and I wanted to know if this was a factor we were up against. I O'd on my own in January, POSSIBLY in May, then took Femara and O'd in June. My O this month was similar to my O in January. I felt it. And, I felt changes in my body with it. May, I think my body was gearing up but didn't quite do it. If I don't have PCOS it could be that coming off the birth control totally messed up my body. Nothing has been "normal" since then. I was on birth control for about 8 years! I'm not sure my body knows what to do anymore. The Femara taught it a lesson If in 5 months we still don't conceive my new Dr will refer us out to a R.E. I never though it'd be this hard, I thought I'd come off the pill and BAM! We'd be pregnant. My OH is really support, he doesn't want to do his S/A until AF comes though. LOL.
Weird. My cramps haven't really been "cramps" today. It's this weird feeling in my stomach with a little bit of pressure. Almost the way your stomach feels when you have stage fright. A nervous tummy.
