#2 due in March 2016

has anyone had terrible morning sickness?

i didn't have ANY with my son - never once threw up, and had a great pregnancy. this time, the terrible nausea started at 5 weeks, and it's all day, every day. i mostly throw up in the morning and just feel like utter crap the rest of the day. please tell me i'm not the only one!

despite my strong feeling that this one is a girl, this polar opposite pregnancy makes me definitely think girl!

Oh hon, I am so sorry! That must suck! I didn't have much morning sickness with my son, very mild nausea only which went away around 8 weeks. Pretty much the same this time. Only difference between my 2 pregnancies is that I am so hungry this time! So I have a feeling I am having a boy!

I have heard girls cause you to be much sicker, however I don't know if this is true because out of 5 people I know who had terrible morning sickness they all had boys. My Aunty was hospitalised with morning sickness in both of her pregnancies and boys, and Princess Catherine was very sick with both hers and she had a boy and now girl. So who knows!

I hope you feel better soon! Around 8-10 weeks I think the placenta takes over so generally your symptoms start to subside. Hang in there xxxx

Oops jtink! Sorry you're feeling so rotten!

I haven't actually vomited (come pretty darn close though). I do, however, feel nauseous ALL THE TIME which has gotten really tiresome. DH finally commented today that I apparently constantly comment that foods, smells, etc make me feel like I'm going to barf. Oops. Guess I'm getting to sound like a broken record. But yes, I can (somewhat) commiserate - I wasn't near as miserable with DD. As I recall, I had 2 days of nausea and lots of food aversions last time. This time it's both food aversions AND nausea all day, every day. Yuck!!

Hi ladies, I've been experiencing fluttering in my tummy this evening! Feels so much like baby movement but only 9 weeks so surely bub would be too small for that!

LOL Ruby, I had the same a few days ago. Can't recall which thread I spoke about it on though. Since that incident its happened on 2 other days! I didn't think it was possible this early either! I'm still wondering if it was just uterine twitches or something else... But I know, it feels like baby movement, def!!! :flow: so cool if it's real!

Aww jtink! Hope your feeling better soon, I had severe MS to the point of needed an out of hours doctor to come out and he gave me tablets it was horrific I couldn't keep anything down I was so poorly but I think it was nerves and shock etc combined. You'll be glad to know my MS is gone now! I've still got lots of other symptoms so I'm not worried.. Scan next week!!!

Yep Ruby me and Bella were saying the same! Weird!!!

Hope your all well xx

Yes I thought I read that about you guys too! Maybe just something stretching, moving about surely it cant be bub yet?? Ah I wish I knew! Did not feel like gas that is for sure!

Still so hungry! I am eating so much it is crazy!

BellaRosa: not long until your app now! :happydance:

Hoping im ok to join in on this..im currently 12w+4 and due in march but expecting baby no#3 :) due for a scan next week and would be good to upload it and get ur guesses on the sex..hoping for a little boy :)

 hi tanibaby. Sure, you can join us. Maybe you can give us a little insight on how it is to go from one baby to two children?

How is everyone?? It's been quiet in here!

Hi can I join too? I've been posting on the April thread but I'm actually due with #2 March 31 Soni just related there a Lil more. Dd is 3 now and I was so so sick with her and for now I'm nauseous but not throwing up so thinking it's a boy but who knows? Also some days are worse than others. I also know this time that constant grazing really helps so I do that more this time. How's everyone else feeling?

Welcome busybee! Funny, I'm the opposite! With DD I was only nauseous a couple of isolated times, but with this baby I'm constantly nauseous - all day long every day - so I was thinking boy too! :flow:

Welcome newbies! And congrats xx

This thread has been quiet! My DS has been unwell this week which sucks! Didn't sleep much Monday or Tuesday night so have been like a zombie!

We keep asking DS whether he is having a brother or sister and he ALWAYS says brother! May be that he is only 18 months and "brother" is easier to say than "sister" or maybe it is a sign....

I am hanging out for my 12 week scan on the 9/9. The week after that we are heading to Hamilton Island in the Great Barrier Reef for a holiday which will be lovely to relax after the stressful 1st trimester! Think we will tell people when we get back- end of September/ early October.

Sorry to everyone feeling sick soon! I hope it improves soon :hugs:

I've been quiet be I had to go back to work this week. I'm a teacher & summer break is officially over  really though, thanks to pregnancy hormones, I was a wreck the night before my first day back, about leaving my DD. sucks.

How's everyone else?

Ugh going back to work in school next week too. Im An Occupational Therapist There. Literally having nighmare about it already and not quite ready to tell yet but worried coworkers will say something as I feel like I'm starting to show a little. Nausea is on and off but thankfully no vomiting. How's everyone else?

Yeah - it's rough!!! So tired every day! Good luck to you next week, busy!

My nausea is really bad today. It's been bad daily, but today just seems to be worse than usual. Luckily DH is taking care of me - thankfully not expecting a clean house, encouraging me to nap, making me food, etc.

Oh that sucks! You guys are back to school and I am hanging out for holidays in 3 weeks. I am a Psychologist and working in schools at the moment. Our term finishes on the 18th Sep. Can't wait!

Teaching with nausea must be horrible! Hopefully it starts to subside soon!

I am feeling well! Next OB app is 7th Sep and 12 week scan is 9th sep! Next week is a big one for me! Can't believe after that I will be out of the first trimester! It has flown!

Take care ladies!

Ruby, we're lines today! Yay :)

You'll have to post your scan pic! I don't believe I get another til 20 weeks (at least, I only got 2 with DD - 9 weeks & 20 weeks). I cant wait to see yours!

As for school, yeah, it's tough with the nausea, but since I teach ESOL, I haven't really begun teaching - I'm waiting for the classroom teachers to make their schedules so I can make mine & begin seeing my students. So far it's been paperwork, duties, and trying to at least group my students while I wait for everyone's schedules.

I know! Limes are so big!!! YAY! This trimester is flying! :hugs:

Do you not get a NT scan in the states? It is a main one here for us in Australia.

I can if I choose to.... I'd get that and the blood test that I think I talked about in this thread. My husband is against having it done. I'm iffy. Still haven't made a decision. And if I decide I do want it, I have to convince him. He doesn't see the point if we wouldn't terminate the pregnancy regardless, and that's kind of how it was presented to us with DD. I know some people do it to prepare themselves too. I just... Don't know.

Yeah it is a tricky one. I had my blood test at 10.5 weeks and I believe the info is used together. As with all my scans I think of it as an opportunity to see the baby rather than the actual purpose. Probably not a good thing.

I guess the positive with the NT scan is it can be reassuring. Also allows for preparation/ research time if the outcome is not what was expected. I know personally I would need that time to prepare as after birth you are often a hormonal mess. Such a personal thing though.
