30-somethings TTC #1 Testing and Support Thread!

Hello Ladies

Well today I am feeling a bit better, which is good am sure tomorrow I'll be back to normal and will be ready to start formulating my plan of action!

Isi Buttercup and Lucky - Sorry AF came and got you :hugs: June WILL be your month!

Thanks love :hugs: and am so glad to hear that you are feeling a bit better. I really have heard good things about ICSI - if they are putting the sperm right into the egg, that's got to be a good thing! Got all my fingers crossed for you xxxxx

I'm slightly nervous that my cycle may be a long one as cd17 and still no + opk today. Second line wasn't remotely dark. Strange as have sore boobs and lots of ewcm which usually mean O on the way. Starting to get worried this may be another long one and whilst Im going to persevere with the OPKs until I get a + or AF arrives nit sure I can keep up with all this :sex: that smep requires....

I hear ya - I am not doing SMEP this month either, did it for two months and need a break! I am the same as you - didn't get my positive OPK until CD18 last cycle - yet started BDing on CD8 - it gets tiring! If your body is telling you that O is on the way, listen to it...I am sure that the OPKs will follow soon. Hope you get some clear indication soon....

am temperature charting this month, so I think if it shows I am not ovulating I will head straight back to the docs with some ammunition

Good plan Ejay - helpful to start your own research!

Brrrrr it's a cold day over here! Am still in bed trying to keep warm!

Good evening, ladies! Hope everyone is doing well.

I'm wondering, is anyone here using Vitex or Soy Iso? I bought both, but now I'm confused which one to take, as I was told on another thread that they cancel each other out!!

I haven't sorry Squirrel. Do they both do the same thing? If so perhaps just take one ??

Four more days until af is due to show. Not really having any symptoms, but also not feeling like af is coming. I usually have started having mild cramps by now.

I'm out for this month. Next test date is June 16th. The day I'm scheduled to go to OB to discuss my "fertility situation." Oh boy...

I use Vitex. Afraid to try Soy for fear that it'll make my Fibroids worse. I know you're not supposed to take Vitex w/ Clomid...and Soy is supposed to be nature's Clomid, so perhaps try just one for now? Not sure if that helps or not?

I did a bit more research and plan to try Vitex for now.

Check this out.... I think I might try this "recipe"

Hey Squirrelgirl I was using vitex for 3 months leading up to this month. It really helps with cramps and pms and some people swear it helps with fertility. I stopped taking it because there is such confusing information about when to stop- there are some stories of women stopping when they get a BFP and then having a MC. I decided unless I had guidance from a professional I would lay off the vitex. BUt, if you are really keen to take it most things I read suggested taking a single dose everyday right until you get the BFP and then waiting until week 10 and then slowly easing off the dosage.
Hope it helps! I know how confusing the info on vitex is!!

Sorry Squirrel - I don't know anything about them! But looks like you got some good advice from the others. Good luck!

Hey everyone else!!

Hope you are all doing well. I am good, just in the middle of AF - fun times! I am actually looking forward to this month, just being even more relaxed about it all. And am trying softcups for the first time - yay!

Good luck to those still to test! I am hoping to see some more BFPs xx

Softcups scare the hell out of me - perhaps Im being a big wimp! Let us know how you get on Lucky.

Just said on the SMEP thread, I think I probably actually would have got a +opk last night so tonight will be the second :sex: in a row, then insurance BD on sunday. Am shattered. Will have done SMEP to the letter and dont think I could repeat it if the BFP doesnt come this month.

What are everyone's plans this weekend?

Waiting -- don't let the softcups scare you. I started using them 2 months ago. I had never.. um.. reached in there for any reason, so I was very worried about having to push them in and then pull them out. But they go in super easy. You just smoosh the sides together and then it's about the size of a tampon. Just push it in til it's past the pubic bone. It kinda jut disappears suddenly when you get it in the right spot.

Now, getting it out is a bit more of a trick. I put mine in while still laying down, so I assumed it would be easiest to get out while laying down. :nope: Don't try that! Best way is to sit on the toilet, bear down like you're going to the bathroom, and this will push the softcup closer for you to be able to reach in with your finger and hook the rim of the cup. Then just pull out and forward (not down). You'll very likely spill the contents of the cup, so another good reason to be sitting on the "loo". :)

It does take some practice, so the first time you use them be sure to leave yourself plenty of time to get it out. But once you've done it, it will be easy. I promise!

The biggest benefit I've found from them is that it keeps there from being a wet spot!!!!! Whether it helps with conceiving or not, I still love them!

hello lovely ladies,
well I have had a hard couple of days- our beloved cat went missing for 2 days, she came back this morning on her own a little beat up but okay none the less :hugs:

An update on me, I had my IUI this morning and it was a bit painful as the nurse couldnt get into my cervix easily...lol, but it went well. The analysis on DH's sample was awesome, so now we just have to wait and see.

hope all is well, what is new? any new BFP's? the nurse doesnt want me to test until June 7th lol...the day my period would be due, I will try and hold out :winkwink:

:hugs:

Very glad to hear your cat returned!!! Our pets are our little furbabies, so I know you must have been very sad and stressed out.

Did she tell you what she got up to? I hope she is grounded! We have two dogs (my furbabies) and I get stressed when we take them out for a walk and they run off, dont think I could cope with a cat who can go for a wander any time they want! Glad she is back, and also your IUI went good. You will be testing 6 days after me. I'll try to make sure you are not tempted to test!

Isnt it messy when it goes in after BDing? This is probably way tmi (sorry) but when we BD we get a wet spot straight away?? You are making me curious now about perhaps ordering some. How long do you leave them in for?
