Anyone else on 1st Clomid round?

AL- that sounds like great news!! Do they call you with results after they pick ?What's the next step after that?

Well, I'm no actually sure. I am assuming they will call me tomorrow they just kind of sent me on my way today. If they don't call I will call them.

MnGmakes3 I see that you are going to start 100 MG in august. Did aunt flo show up?

Not yet. She'll be here by Friday afternoon though. I told my OB to just put the script in but she's making me call back for it... ugh
So cd3 will be Sunday for me.. with migraines all week. .

Well that sucks! Did you do anything other than take clomid? Like the trigger shot or anything?

Nope. Nothing else was offered to me. I wish I had p4 testing before to know what the difference was bw cycles. I feel like I'm going in blind into this whole "unexplained fertility" thing
Perhaps I'll call the OB office tomorrow and ask why they didn't notice the low levels before.. I've only had bloodwork ...ummm..5ish times and to me that's more than enough.
Though now that i think of it, I dont have pcos or anything else like that so it could be why.

Has anyone heard of not taking vitex and clomid together? I just ordered some on amazon and now I'm finding stuff that you're not supposed to. Argh!

Yes you can't take them together, they cancel each other out. Vitex is supposed to work on your hormones to even them out, while Clomid is designed to get estrogen into hyperdrive. Definitely don't want them together!

Did I miss a test? Did you test low on progesterone? :hugs:

ALchild Looking forward to hearing some results of your scan tomorrow. We're on the same cycle days, so I think it's awesome that they already saw follies on day 8! That is promising for you. :)

Thanks Minuet. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I actually ovulate. How crazy would it be if this is the month for both of us?!

You didn't miss anything. It was the cd21 bloodwork. My p4 was a 15. I think I mentioned it in a previous thread. Anyway, OB said it was good but not good enough to show a strong O, which is why the clomid is being upped. I'd much rather try natural supplements first but from what minuet posted I guess it's too late.

Maybe next month I'll take a break from the clomid and go the vitez, coq10 route.

This is all so emotionally draining. Am I the only one that feels that way?

That makes sense. Thanks!

Honestly, I think you should stick with the Clomid and try it at least three times, as most women get pregnant in the first three rounds. I know you are having rough side effects, but it has a good track record for success.
It is clearly working for you, as you still ovulated. 100mg should do the trick to give a stronger ovulation, and you could always ask about doing a trigger shot which can help.
Vitex would not be a good idea for you to try, since you have perfect cycles on your own. Vitex is for smoothing out hormonal issues, and if you already cycle on your own it will only screw you up.
Vitex takes months to build up in your system to be effective anyway. I have PCOS and tried it for a year, it never did anything.
If you want to try something more natural you could try soy isoflavones. They are called nature's clomid since they work the same way as clomid - and many women have babies from soy. It's worth checking into when you want to take a break from Clomid.

To be honest, trying Clomid is giving me something positive to think about. I have been heartbroken over this issue for years, and to finally, finally be able to try something that can work - you have no idea how that feels. It feels like I have a chance at a dream that was dashed so many times.
Don't give up hope, you have a lot going for you with a body that actually works well. All you need is something to give your body an extra push, and Clomid should do that for you. :)

Also, when you had your progesterone checked, do you know for sure that it was 7 days after ovulation? Many doctors just do it on day 21, which is rarely 7 days after ovulation. If it wasn't done on 7dpo, then your numbers will be off and your progesterone could have been higher or lower.

Min, you are so sweet! :hugs:
My O was exactly cd14 so her telling me cd21 was spot on! I've Od within a 2 to 3 day window before but this month couldn't have worked out better!
I know what you mean about having something that finally works. I feel like I spent a year giving blood and doing tests just to find this now. . Better late then never I guess *sigh

Thank you for all the Vitex info too!
I did stop for some folic acid, B- complex and Vit C because I don't exactly have the best eating habits and I figure vitamins couldn't hurt. I just have to remember to take them ..maybe if someone reminds me, with 3 alarms, a messenger owl, pony express and skywriting. :haha:

Thanks :)

I'm glad your blood work was correct then. At least your progesterone was a good level, even if it wasn't classed as a strong O.
Good idea on the supplements, it doesn't hurt to have more on top of the prenatals. You might want to check your B- complex, the one we have is supposedly higher quality and it has folic acid in the folate form. So your B-complex might already have the extra folic acid.
I've read that Vit C is great for fertility, as is COQ10. Hubby is also taking vitamins and other supplements.
The alarms is a great idea, sometimes that's the only way to remember something until it finally becomes a habit.
I've been putting the unopened OPK test on the bathroom counter so I see it and remember that I need to test before it's too late! :haha:
Oh and have you tried Preseed? It has great reviews and couldn't hurt either. We're using it since Clomid is supposed to be terrible for natural fertile fluids. Just remember less is more!

Wow! This may be TMI, but after all the stories of Clomid drying women up, I was very surprised to discover ewcm tonight!
This is one thing I never lacked, so I hope it just doesn't mean ''business as usual'' without any ovulation to follow. We shall see... :coffee:

Morning!
Happy Friday :)

I'll have to remember about checking the b complex, I wouldn't have even thought it had folic in it. Amazing the stuff I learn here.

I have tried preseed before, hubby really likes it. You just reminded me I was supposed to get some more yesterday. I was even in the same aisle and it never dawned on me :dohh:
We only have the one close RiteAid, and it seems I'm there all the time. Maybe I'll need to start shopping elsewhere so they don't think im a nympho :haha:

Do you know if there's a good/bad time to be taking coq10? Before O? After o to af?

We've just been taking all the supplements, including COQ10, daily. In another thread, a lady was told by her RE that COQ10 for ladies is good for egg quality so I'd assume before O is the most imperative time.

MnG- I agree with minuet! After reading about vitex on these boards I started it too and it didn't ever do anything for me. You already have good cycles so you don't want to mess up your hormones. I would definitely try to tough it out on clomid. A friend of mine I met here on the boards has a blocked tube and on her second round she got pregnant. It does work but some women it takes 3-6 cycles. I'm scared of the side effects too but I'm praying my HSG test goes great and I can start immediately. I weigh how badly I want it compared to a week worth of being in pain or uncomfortable and I'm so ready!! I hope the side effects get better for you though. That has to be terrible.

AFM- AF is due Sunday. I'm praying for a bfp so I can skip over these next steps. I get nervous and anxious lol. I'm not scared of the test really, just scared that I have a blocked tube or something and that's why I haven't gotten my bfp. I have heard the same thing about the HSG test helping women get pregnant so hopefully that's what happens if I don't get my bfp before the test. Hope you ladies are all doing well.

Hopeful- you are so right about what your said with weighing the good and the bad/how much we want this. I ended up not getting the Vitex but did get some normal vitamins instead :) those couldn't hurt right? I even got hubby to add some maca to his fertile aid and Vit C. I'm so lucky he doesn't even ask.

Good luck with your HSG. Fx'd they are open for a slippery highway open for business lol
Let us know the results! :)
