Anyone gave birth in Woolwich???

I found out where the med centre is... it's not too far from here, but it would be easier just to go to the hospital again... Or have it at my GP surgery like you do....
I got my letter from the GP, but he said it was not an NHS matter, but a private one so they had to charge me.. they usually charge £20 for it but since I didn't know he 'only' charged me £10... but obviously I didn't have any money with me, cause who takes money if they're just going to get a letter from the GP?? NO ONE... So I had to phone my hubby to go out and get 10 pound out the cashpoint and come and bring it to me..... Don't get why they don't just send the bill home... My hubby was NOT impressed, he was really really pissed off (not at me, but at the doctor), cause it is ridiculous that they charge 10 pound for a friggin' letter, that had literally 2 lines on it, that anyone could write.... But I guess it would cost more money to cancel my flights or just not go after booking the flights...

I tried to find a picture of the tunic on the new look website but couldn't find it... :S Well it's basically grey-ish, wool-like, with like snowflakes or something at the bottom, looks really nice on me :p I might take a picture of me wearing it sometime. I can still wear my normal jeans, at least some of them... but they have to be quite low, so they fit under bump and I've got 1 pair that was quite big before I was pregnant cause I'd lost weight and they fit quite well now :p
But sometimes I do unbutton my jeans as they get a bit uncomfortable sometimes when sitting down.

That Paratha sounds quite nice :) Never had it...
We just had some small bits for dinner... we had Jay's family over last sunday and bought way too much food for it... so I had a chicken burger and some chicken kiev balls and 2 mini sausagerolls and hubby had the same, but instead of chicken burger he had some cocktail sausages with it...

WHAT?? they charge for a letter!!! You are kidding me!! I would also be peed too! I cant not believe that. Have you asked around to see if that is normal. I know they take money where they can and stuff but seriously!

Dinner was ok- I must have added salt twice to the curry and it was horrible! I had to make do with some Paratha and ketchup! LOL!!!

I look forward to your pics! I am pleased to hear you are still in old jeans- I am hoping to get away without too many!!

Knackered so I am hitting bed- hope you enjoy the rest of your evening :)
Oh and when are you heading back home? I bet you are so excited? Has your sis seen bump?

Yep they charge for things like that, and other certificates... So hubby wasn't happy...

Oops pregnancy brain kicking in while cooking now hea?! :p

I'm flying home on wednesday, got the party on fridaynight, so I gotta stay hidden at my parents place till then :p So she won't find out... She hasn't seen me yet. No one really has... I put some pics on facebook, but apart from that it's just been my parents and 1 of my brothers that's seen me lately. Last time I was in Holland was with the wedding in June, and I was only about 8 weeks then, so nothing to see...
Oh and I'm coming back on thursday (18th) so I'll be there for a week, and my best friend is coming back to England with me then, so we're flying together and she's gonna stay with us for a couple of days.

What are you upto today???

Hey! Sounds like you have a busy few weeks. I cant wait to hear about your Sis' reaction!
I am north of the river at my mums until Sunday- We have Diwali- Hindu new year so I am going to be off b and b most of the weekend! Are you planning on staying hidden until the party or will you be out and about hoping to not bump into your sis?
We have family over all day Sat and dinner on Sunday. I have dinner with family also tomorrow and during he day I shall be doing some of my Yoga homework so all go go!
Whats your plans this weekend? I have been looking at small packaging for gifting when babba is ehre- In indian tradition when the wee one is born we send out sweet with pic/infor like weight and name etc. I want to do something novel!

Anyway- feeling quite tired so going to head to bed- I shall be about tomorrow so hopefully catch you then otherwise have a good one xxxxxxx

Nah I don't really have to stay hidden, cause my sister lives in a different town from my parents. And I'm staying with my parents... But just gotta make sure that she doesn't come round to theirs, and if she does I gotta hide from her :p
But I won't be there until wednesday night and the party is on fridaynight.

What's that, hindu new year?? what do you do??
Sounds like you're in for a nice weekend though :) Or not???

We're planning to go to the cinema on saturday, then pizza hut and then going to blackheath for fireworks display... for my extended birthday :p haha

In Holland we sort of do something like you do when the baby is born... We send people cards with either a picture of the baby on it, or any other sort of birth notice... With the name(s) and the baby's weight and length and time the baby was born and that... And when you can visit or call to congratulate (as most mums obviously sleep during the day, especially just after giving birth).
Don't think people really do that in England, but I think we're planning to do so.... well I want to anyway :p
We also have another tradition in Holland where you can have some sort of Dutch crispbread or something I think you call it in England.. it's crispy sort bread/biscuit/cracker... hard to explain with some pink and white or blue and white sprinkles on them... you hand them out to people that visit you after you've had the baby.

Here's a picture of it...

Oh I like those traditions! I think its nice to keep them going. My friend from my old work who is from Holland sent those cards out last year when he had his daughter.
Weekend will be busy- nice as I am at my mums ;)

Blackheath Fireworks are totally awesome- We went their last year and loved it. It does get cold and busy so make sure you wrap up warm and have a get out route! LOL. We ended up getting side tracked into pubs! LOL- very good evening. I am sad to be missing it this year. We are meant to be going tonight to a fireworks display this side with my niece and nephew!!
Have a good one and I'll catch you soon xxxxx
I'll try and post some of our Diwali pics tomorrow :)

The fireworks were awesome last night.... We had a bit of a problem finding the cinema at first though... We took the train to Charlton (as we're not allowed to drive the car anymore, cause of MOT and tax) so we planned to walk to the cinema from there, but couldn't really find it... Found it eventually, thanks to gps on mobile phones and other people :p
After the film we thought we'd take the bus from there to blackheath to watch the fireworks, but the bus we were supposed to take (to blackheath station) just drove past without stopping.... :S So we got in a different one and he dropped us off close to the fireworks display, and we walked from there... as there were LOADS of people walking to the park...
Then when it was finished we tried to find the station in blackheath, but as there were soooo many people trying to get there it took ages and police was regulating the walking traffic :p
So we got in the train, but that train turned out to be going to bexleyheath instead, but we got out before it left :p And got into the next train, but it didn't say where it was going before it left, so we hoped we were going the right way :p But we did :p Haha... So then we went to pizzahut, getting a small pizza to take home, but that was cold by the time we got home.... cause we tried to take a bus home, but weren't sure which one we should take and it took ages to turn up, so ended up walking home...

Anyway, we had a good day in the end :p I was just really knackered afterwards and still am quite tired.... Not in a very good mood today :p haha....I finished page 4 of 9 of my cross stitch though... So I'm getting somewhere with it...

Oh and I'm going over to 3rd trimester tomorrow :D YAY!!! Don't worry I'll still talk to you :p

How is your weekend?? Having fun at your mums??

OMG what a long day- sounds like you were on your feet all day! I hope you managed to get some rest in! I still get lost and confused around here so I am no use either.
Glad the show was awesome though :)Was your pizza nice after all that?

Congrats on 3rd tri- glad you will stick around though :p I would be upset if you didnt!

I have just got back to Plumstead- long but busy but fun weekend! I am glad to be back home and should really get to bed as I will be tired but going to spoil myself with a lie in. I will fill you in on my weekend when I am rested!
Well done on gettin your cross stitch done :) Hows bump doing?

Minimin

hehe, yeah was quite a long day, but we didn't leave till the afternoon, around half 4 so I rested all morning before that :p And had a nice lie in on sunday.
Pizza was ok, we put it in the oven for a little while, to warm it up again.

Cross stitch isn't done yet, gonna start on page 5 of 9 today. But it looks good so far :) Only 5 more pages to go :p haha.. should be done before xmas cause the last page only took me 6 days :p
I've been good today, doing the washing up - took me quite a while :S - and washing the cases for the cushions of the sofa. We got the sofa's from my SIL and she said she washed them but they are still dirty and my mum spilled wine over one of the cushions the other day so I washed that case, and then we noticed how clean it looked compared to the rest, so we tought we should really wash all the others aswell.. so I started that today. Wonder how they're gonna come out.

I still need to do some ironing and pack my bag for Holland, but really can't be bothered. Might do it later today, or tomorrow.

Glad you had a good weekend, can imagine that you're shattered now.

Bump is doing well, moving a lot - last night he was anyway, but he still stops whenever I tell daddy to look at him move... :p every single time!! :p haha
little cheeky monkey. But hopefully we'll be able to see it more often soon, cause he'll start getting less space in there... and the walls of your uterus get thinner then.

Well anyway, I'm gonna put this away and relax for a bit.

Hope you got some relaxing in this afternoon. I love when I wash something and it comes out clean and new looking- let me know how it all looks. I look forward to also seeing your cross stitch work! forget the ironing- do it tomorow LOL! I am in such a lazy mood today-Though I have done :laundry: and :dishes: and :hangwashing:

I have been lounging in bed since I got up! I cancelled tuition as I feel like I have a cold coming on. I have some herbal granules the Acu guy has given me for colds so I've started them in the hope that they do the trick before I get worse. What a horrible day :rain: is making me miserable and sleepy!

I bet babba is playing with his pops! I have had stronger bubble bursts the past week or so but everytime my sis or DH puts is hand there they cant feel anything-I am concerned we are not feeling much outside and tbh- there isnt much to be felt inside too. I am 22 weeks tomorrow and would have thought I had some stonker thumps by now. Hoping it is just cos she is placcid and docile atm

I have my midewife appt tomorrow at ten. What did they check after your 20w scan?
I am assuming they will do BP, urine and HB and send me on my way. I will get them to sign for for free dental and prescription but too early for me for my HiP and Sure Start right?

Been rather moody the past few days- did you find that too- some simple things are really annoying me and most of all people are just really getting on my nerves mostly DH family and their stupidity :grr: and :gun:
Is this all just hormones or am I a mean old bitch that should be :ignore:

haha... all them smilies :p haha

I might make a picture for you when the cross stitch is finished :p
I'll show you what it's supposed to look like when finished...
The one with the Lions I made for my MIL last year, and the one with the snow leopards I'm making now. This brand has got LOADS of nice ones... I only just noticed.... If you want me to make you one I could do that for you :) Have a look on the website... https://www.kustomkrafts.com/New Website/web main pages/counted cross stitch main.htm and then you can pick whether you want animals of floral or something like that... But they are quite expensive.. I think we paid about 35 quid for this one I'm making now.

So you've been productive aswell then?! I took the pillow cases out the washing machine but they still seem dirty... I think the other one got sooo clean cause I soaked it in soda first.. So I put one of em in soda to soak overnight and wash it in the machine again tomorrow. And see what happens. But I didn't have enough soda left to put all of em in soak. So I'll probably get some more when we do the shopping next.

I think Jay didn't feel the baby move until around 22 or 23 weeks either.. cause everytime Jay put his hand on my belly he'd stop kicking.... Pain in the bum :p haha. But he can feel him now, so don't worry!!! Your hubby will be able to feel her soon, but you gotta make him sit there for a while with his hand on your bump cause he'll need to be patient.
Our little boys kicks haven't been very strong today... as far as I noticed them, cause I've been quite active.

I didn't really have a normal MW appointment at 25 weeks after my 20 week scan I think, cause I was booking in with the new MW so that's what most of it was about. But they do listen to the HB, do your urine and bp and probably measure your uterus, should be about a cm per week gestation. (within a range of 3 cm) And then at 28 weeks they do more blood tests apparently... for pregnancy anaemia I think. I also need to get one done for HIV with my other ones, cause apparently I didn't have that one done in Canterbury... at least the paperwork wasn't there for some reason.
Didn't you get your free prescription thingy earlier?? I think I got the form for that at 16 weeks, and all I had to do was take it to GP surgery and they sent me a card at home that you can keep in your purse...
You should be able to claim for your HiP grant from 25 weeks. The mw should give you a form to fill out and you have 31 days to send it off from the date the mw or gp signs it. I've got my form, but haven't got it filled in and signed by gp or mw yet. So I'm gonna let them do that on the 23rd when I have my 28 week appointment. And you can't claim for Sure Start until you're 29 weeks pregnant up until 3 months after giving birth.
So you gotta wait a little while yet. Only 3 weeks until you can get your HiP grant though :)

haha about the moodiness.... when Jay and I were walking to the trainstation saturday I was saying to him that I've been quite good, not been very moody or snappy. But then we were both getting annoyed cause we couldn't find the cinema and I was trying to find it on my phone while we were walking and Jay said, watch out for that car... And I snapped at him!!! :dohh: I went: Yeah I saw the car, I'm pregnant not stupid!!! :growlmad: hahaha... Then I felt really bad for saying that, cause he was only being sweet and looking after me :p
But he was ok with it, he said anyway.... haha.
So that statement sort of went out the window :p

WOW those images look fantastic. Now wonder it is taking a bit of time- they are amazing!!!:happydance: Though at £35 a pop that is quite alot.:dohh: I have some paintings and crocheting- that I am sure I have mentioned before- which I have done nothing with for ages. I wish I could get more into it. I go through phases of doing tons and then forgetting about it. I will check that website out.

Ta for the info on MW appointments. I think they did my HIV test  not sure. I didnt have a 16w appointment so I didnt get the free prescription test thing. I am looking to go to the dentist so I do need it now. My gums have been bleeding a fair bit- did you get that.

Oh my- I think you are getting hormones like me. I am hoping it is just a phase as I am aware my hormones and moods can affect babba! I dont want her to be moody like me. I am on a normal day without being pregnant. Poor DH:flower:

I will ask DH to be patient but really he isnt. When I go up to lie down of an evening he hogs the telly and doesnt come up until around 11 so he misses her. He is also gone when I get up

I spoke to my cousin this afternoon and felt better for being so moody. I think some of it stems from a few people really taking the mick and always doing TAKE TAKE TAKE and never really thinking for themselves. I just dont understand that and have always tried to find things out for myself. I know it is nice to help others etc etc but I am getting fed up. WE came to the conclusion that a person will take as much as you give them if they can get away with it. Some of our family and DH's side are so lazy :growlmad:

Anyhoo better get back to my dinner- veggie pasta and garlic bread dinner I am making. The latter is shop purchased! LOL hope the sauce is nice ;)

so I noticed today that I may have a hot water bottle burn on my back. I normally have one with me- either on my lower back or feet- My back is sore and i seem to have lost some skin!!!! EEEEK waiting for DH to come home and take a look but it is sore to lean back on when I am sitting on the sofa

Hope you have had a good afternoon and managed to rest up. Anything nice for dinner?
:hugs:

hehe, yeah they are expensive, but I reckon they're worth it....And they make a good xmas present, as they're not cheap and also take quite a lot of time to make, and then we always buy a nice frame with it aswell :)
After I've finished this I'm doing a Mr Men one for the LO. And probably making some more miffy's on bodysuits.

About the dentist... I don't think you really need it, do you?? I thought you could just go and tell him/her you're pregnant.... and get it free. But I hate dentists and don't go very often  I know I should, and you're more vulnerable to all sorts of freaky things during pregnancy but I'm scared of dentists and haven't been in ages... which makes it even scarier to go again :p haha But my teeth seem to be doing fine right now.
Your gums bleeding doesn't have to be anything bad, cause it's probably just cause you got more blood pumping round in your body due to the pregnancy....and therefore it's easier to get bleeding gums.

hehe I've been saying for days that we're gonna have sausages for dinner, cause we need to eat them....and I said to my hubby earlier that we were definitely having them tonight, whether he liked it or not... Then it got to about half 7 and I said...hmmm, ok I guess we're not gonna have sausages for dinner, cause by the time I've cooked it it'll be really late. So we had pizza instead haha :p We haven't really been feeling up to cooking lately. But we're definitely having them tomorrow... We had a little 'drama' here before dinner so I didn't realise what time it was....otherwise I would've made them tonight :p

How's your back now??? How did you manage to burn your back to a bottle though??? I used to use hot water bottles on my belly when I had period pains (before pregnancy obviously :p) but usually put a towel around it when it was piping hot. And once it's cooled down a bit I would just put it on on it's own.

I have a bottle cover so it is is weird to have those burns- think it may be the cover at my mums as I didnt take my bottle with me over the weekend

Your like me with regard to food-I always have good intentions to cook something and then something else tickles my fancy and I end up changing my mind

I have been to the dentist when I was pregnant with my Ectopic and they didnt ask for the form. I thought I would get a clean and check done whilst it is free. Like you I dont like them but like when they have cleaned my teeth- feels so nice. Hate the process of them cleaning it. I also think there is a time I will have to have my wisdom teeth out as the two lower ones are peaking through- mighty scared to have teeth pulled though. But seeing as I will have given birth by then- I am sure a pulling tooth procedure will be do-able

I think your absolutely right about the increased blood flow and bleeding gums. I think we also have softer gums so they are prone to bleeding :)

So what are your plans tomorrow? Am off to read in bed- I fell asleep around 5-6 and now am wide awake :(

Oh man, I can't believe I'm awake already... hubby got up and I couldn't get back to sleep afterwards......will explain later, when I can. It's got to do with the 'drama' we had last night..... Nothing real bad, and no problems with Jay, don't worry :)

Anyway, I'm glad there's such a thing as tv and internet to distract me.....
Hopefully Jay won't be away for too long this morning, he's got pt in the morning and then comes home for lunch. I'm not feeling very good being on my own right now....

Gotta pack my bag for Holland later and look up what time I gotta get the train to the airport tomorrow.

What are you upto today???

Morning hun!!! Hope you are feeling better- I will be back from Docs in about an hour if you want to talk! I have my MW appointment at 10 so fingers crossed they dont keep me long. I thought I would get some shopping in from the high road!!
Hope Jay is ok too :)
Hugs!

Hey hun!
I hope you are well. I am assuming you guys have headed over to Holland. I hope you are having a blast and look forward to updates and pics. I hope things with jay are sorted out too. I just wanted to touch base as we havent spoken in over a week :)

Hey,

Just got back today... I was in Holland but Jay was working..
We're all good, don't worry... :p I told him what slipped into my head, and he said he understood, cause it was a little weird - his toothbrush disappearing and that. Anyway, had quite a good time in Holland. Glad to be home though, my own bed (well OUR own bed :p) and I don't have to sleep alone :p
And it's just always enough being away/in Holland for a week I think... Always nice to come home.
My friend has come with me and is staying till tuesday, but it's changed a bit between us, so I was not really looking forward to it to be honest... She said: uh, I'm not gonna stay in the house all the time, I wanna go out everyday...
And I was like....uh, I don't want to.... I've been away from home for a week and just got home and don't have the money to go out and do something everyday. And just like to relax at home... But well... We'll see.
But the friendship has changed aswell, I mean we used to go out together and 'pull' some blokes, or a bloke or try to anyway :p haha But now I'm married and pregnant and we just have different interests and that.... She still looks at all blokes like: oh he's fit!! and I just roll my eyes :p haha

Anyway, apart from that, everything is going really well, belly is getting bigger and it's starting to get hard to cut my toe nails haha :p But we're all good, he's kicking loads, so that's good. Got my next mw appointment on tuesday.

So what have you been upto?? How's your little girl?? And is your bump growing?? Feeling your little one a lot?? Bet she's gotten a lot stronger now...

 welcome home!
You will have to let me know what happened as your sisters birthday party:)
Glad you and Jay managed to talk but sorry to hear you have drifted from your friend. I do understand though. Both of you are on the same path but at different points. I am sure you will be the first person she comes to when she is married and pregnant or looking to get pregnant. :hugs:
I hope do you get your rest though hun. Like you, I cant wait to get back to my bed and my home comforts no matter how long and how nice we are away for :)

Bumpage is doing ok- some more kicks but still not too strong. DH can feel them if he is patient enough to keep his hand here. I am getting some real tightenings in the uterus. They last like 10-15 seconds if that. Did you get them. I think they are BH in the making!

Glad your lil son is keeping you busy with those kicks! I bet it is nice to have them nice and strong! My ones do get stronger if i eat say chocolate or something LOL. Like her father there then :)

Welcome back and I hope your friend and you do have a fun time- perhaps you can suggest day time things to do. I have my friends over from tomorrow night until Sunday- but i will be going to bed when I need to- they are big enough to look after themselves :)

Enjoy and speak soon xx

hehe my sisters party was fun!! She didn't expect me to be there... she'd spoken to my other sister (who also lives in England) earlier that day so she sort of expected my sister to be there, but not me. :p

I sort of had another break down on Jay last night, just before we went to bed... asking if he still likes me and still finds me attractive and that... But he seemed to be ok with it.

I'm knackered today and really really don't wanna do anything, but I'm gonna have to, as my friend is here and doesn't wanna sit in the house all day..... I do understand that, but she's also gotta understand that I've just been away for a week and am pregnant aswell, which makes me even more tired then usual.
Might walk down to Woolwich town centre so I can proof that there really isn't anything there :p haha
That's what I meant yesterday btw, by going out... just doing things during the day, but I'm used to mostly sitting in the house not doing a lot. And like I said I've just been away so it would be nice to have some time to relax and do whatever I want. So I'm secretly looking forward to tuesday :p

It's sooo cool isn't it when hubby can feel the LO. I really like it makes it so much more both yours, instead of just yours cause you're the one carrying her. Last night Jay felt him kick again and he kicked really hard a couple of times. Cause he doesn't really kick hard anymore, just moves a lot. And he starts to move against my ribs aswell now that feels really weird.

Oh and your contracting uterus does sound like BH. I haven't had them I don't think, cause I never really felt them, not sure what they're supposed to feel like.
