anyone got pregnant after ovarian drilling?

Hi Tella!!! I've missed you hun!! It sounds like you're upbeat as always!

Congrats Joy!!!

Kyla - how funny - we sound the same. I had a spreadsheet of baby items as well. I had a column for the minimum cost and the maximum cost. I'm also a major planner AND major procrastinator!! All my energy goes into the planning and then I fizzle out. :dohh:

Kayla - Yes I downlaoded the app as soon as you mentioned it last night and put monday's date in as day one.:flower:

My plan of action so far is...OPK's I've got cheapy ones and clear blue ones as they are quicker so I can do them in the toilet at work becuase I read 2pm was the best time of day to do the test:winkwink:. DH is on well man, I'm on the seven seas preconception pill becuase I couldn't find pregnecare anywhere, I'm also doing bbt but that is a complete mindfield.

Me and DH have agreed to BD every other day at least but he has asked me not to tell him when I've ovulated until after so he dosent get any performance issues .

Tella Thanks so much hun, How have you found the CBFM, I read really good things about it and was looking into it but someone said its no good for pcos. Would love to hear your thoughts on it

Other than that I guess its just :sex: and :headspin:

Would love to hear what you other ladies are doing/did to help me work out my plan

PS Kayla forgot to say! Congrats on getting to a watermelon

lots and lots of :dust: to all you lovely helpful ladies :) xxx

I know they say its not ultimate for PCOS but neither is OPK's as it is the LH to flactulate that might be confusing. But once you can read your lines on the test, its easy to see as your Estrogen goes up as you near ovulation to prepare the lining. Also the OD is suppose to assist you in ovulating normally so basically breaking the PCOS patern and non ovulation so i think it will work after OD.

Enjoy the BD, i have made the mistake of obsessing to much and believe me our DH's arent stupid, we act different when we O so they know even without us telling them :dohh:

What i have been doing is incorporating fun games then when i O i just prepare the games and he thinks it is just for fun :haha: well it is but it is double fun for us :winkwink:

Thanks Kyla , that is near our 2nd wedding anniversary (17th Sept ) so very exciting !!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Tella so excited still:happydance::happydance:

also last month I went from low to high to peak just as you described; so fingerscrossed its a good sign for you. I never had that response before xx I used CBFM also & For sure will have to sort ticker x Best wishes for a BFP soon

Jojo best of luck with your plan- sounds great :happydance:

WOW that is awesome news, maybe just maybe. I hope it is a GREAT sign. Only 12 more days to go........How many DPO did you test first time?

Tella - Thanks! Yes, a new thread is a good idea, I was thinking the other day it'd be nice to have some statistics for the newbies of the OD graduates. If someone else doesn't start one, I'll look at doing it after baby arrives.
Fingers crossed for you this cycle - you never know :happydance:

JoJo - Yay for BabyMed app. It's fab for plotting pregnancy dates when you get your BFP too.
Your plan sounds great, don't think I'd have anything to suggest on top of that. It's all about settling those hormones and letting your body recover. I did the temps, they can be really out of whack for the first month or so post op, but it's worth doing if you can. Great idea about not telling DH and try not to focus on it too much yourself either, take it day by day as each day is a step closer to your bfp.
Here's to kicking PCOS in the ass! :bodyb:

Joy - Aw, that's a great date!! :cloud9:

Henry - How's things?

You right we never know, after doing AR it teaches you that even more!

Hi Tella!!! I've missed you hun!! It sounds like you're upbeat as always!

Congrats Joy!!!

Ive missed all you lovely ladies as well!!! Aw thanks, im glad i come accross as that :hugs:

I have changed my mindset, instead of googling everything to death and getting worried if it is the right thing for me i just go with the flow! If nothing this IUI then im just gonna take Clomid/Femara for 6 months with TI and that is it. Also only chatting to you ladies really, scared i get sucked into it all again and end up spending hours on Bnb :haha:

AFM > 2dpo, 12 more to go!

Morning girls :flower:

Just popping in to say my scan appointment finally came through, its tomorrow morning! I'm both excited and very nervous, I just am so desperate to know everything is ok, of course I have absolutely no reason to suspect it wont be but I just cant help worrying! I'm sounding like a deranged idiot I know but .. ooh someone give me a kick lol. Can I ask too the letter I got was just one of those tear off slip thingys, am I not supposed to drink loads of fluid before I go down so I have a full bladder?

Thanks Tella, sounds really good I think I'm going to look into getting one if it works as sounds much better than trying to guess with opk's. Thanks for games tip hehe:blush:! That's Good idea because I think otherwise we put too much pressure on them they can't cope!

Fx'd for being 2 days past ovulation hope this month is your month hun!

Congrats on your scan date Cullen! Very exciting xx

Tella - It's great to have you back on the thread. Taking a stress free approach is great :hugs:

JoJo - I spent a fortune on internet cheapies (IC) OPKs. I read that OPKs don't work for PCOSers as it can give false positives and some women always have a +OPK throughout their cycle but are not ovulating. In my case, I never had a false positive, but I also never had a strong positive either. On the months I did ovulate, I'd get a very faint positive line. On my BFP cycle with Femara, I had the faint line coming up to CD14 and I carried on testing. I then got a faint line on CD19 which would normally be dismissed as a negative, however I also am 100% sure I actually felt the egg release on the evening so we dtd and here we are :happydance: I think it's worth a try to see what might work for you:flower:

Cullen - Oh I am SO excited for your scan! :happydance: Yes, you'll need a full bladder hun, this is so that the sonographer can get the best possible view. The full bladder pushes the uterus forwards. When you have your 20 week scan, you won't need the full bladder. I've read different volumes of water, I think I had to drink 1 litre of water an hour before the scan. I think I drank 750ml and hour before and then 250ml 45mins before because it was the only way I knew I'd be able to hold it :loo:
Nerves and excitement are normal. I was worried before mine as it's the only real tangible proof of pregnancy you get at that stage, everything will be fine. I'll look forward to your update although I might reply late as I'm off to hospital myself in the afternoon and may have to stay in for monitoring. You'll be fine

Hi girls

This really seems to be the thread to join, bfp's everywhere! Congrats to all!

I had my OD done on the 7th of jan.. The doctor seemed pleased and optimistic.. I have to go back in 6 months if i'm not pregnant, is this the usual thing? AF visited me yesterday (2, 30 day cycles in a row!!) which means i get to start my tamoxifen today..

I read as many posts as i could, just wondering what the average time to concieve after the OD?

Thanks everyone xx

:hi: and welcome to the thread MrsVaughan :flower:

I had my OD done on 29th December 2011 and joined the thread around the same time, hope you'll find it as supportive and welcoming as I have done.

It is normal to wait 6 months to see you FS after the op, sometimes people get seen a little sooner at 3 months, but generally they like to wait and allow our bodies and hormones time to heal and settle down after the operation. Hopefully you won't need that follow up appointment and since you're on tamoxifen that's probably why they're not needing to see you before 6 months as you've got a plan in place.

I don't know the average time, we've got a few stars on here who got pregnant first or second cycle, some who waited a few months and others who are still waiting.

I didn't ovulate on my own after the op, but like many others I did respond to medication and got pregnant my first cycle of using Metformin and Femara together (5th cycle post op) and my baby is due in a few weeks.

Welcome once again, we're always happy to see new ladies here, feel free to ask questions, keep posting and good luck with your journey.:hugs:

Thanks Kayla, I've got some OPK's so I will use them at first and then if I dont get pregnant I'll look into CBFM. Did you manage to get all the info you needed for your hospital bag last night?

Hi MrsVaughan :flower: had my OD done on monday so we are only one week apart! How are you finding it so far? How long have you been trying for! xxx

Welcome to the thread, it is truely a wonderful thread and lots of questions get answered for me.

My doc also said 6 months but with no other treatment had to go all natural, but i crooked and took Clomid for 2 months which helped with earlier O but no BFP :growlmad: So i think you should get your BFP quicky seeing that you on treatment immediately and taking full advantage of the OD!

Cullen - :yipee::yipee::yipee: So happy!! Fantastic news! It's the most amazing experience seeing your baby on the scan for the first time and made so special after ltttc :cloud9: You and Nikkia are bump buddies! :friends:

JoJo - Yes, I've finally packed my hospital bag :happydance: I've been putting it off, but the real prospect of being admitted to hospital last Friday spurred me on and I can relax now it's done. How are you feeling?

AFM - I went in for assessment, my blood pressure is back to normal now which is a relief. All ok otherwise, next appointment on Tuesday with my consultant.

:dust: to all

Hello everyone  and Congratulations Kyla!!
I am new to the site, lap + dye and ovarian drilling on 12/6/12 due to PCOS. I have been reading everyone's stories for a while. It definitely helped and eased my anxiety to do the procedure. I was super nervous because I was 6 weeks out this past Thursday and no cycle until today!! THANK GOD 1st cycle without meds in a loooong time. I start 75 mg of Clomid on day 3.... Trying to stay positive as we have been trying for almost two years. You ladies help to give me hope.:flower:

Milynn- welcome to the thread! Getting af 6 weeks after od and without any mess is pretty impressive! I hope Clomid works for you very quickly.

Cullen and NIKKIA - yay to more July babies :happydance: it's amazing to have a baby any day of the year but spring/summer babies are easier logistically (for example you can bf easily in the park which you couldn't do in this weather). But of course time of year is so unimportant as long as they are healthy!!!

Kyla - why do you need to see a consultant? Not long! Treasure the last few days of baby's kicks and hiccups! Can't wait to hear the good news.

Tella - you MUST be next. It's unfair that its taking sooo long for you and Keisha but eventually it will happen. I know it can sound really annoying and patronising because no one knows for sure but I don't see any reason why it won't! It's just that your journey to your baby is that much longer and harder than for most. But the end result is equally amazing (if not more given how long you've waited for it)

Henry and Anupur and Monkey - how are you doing?

Just to let you all know there's another OD graduate among my friends who's due on July 29th. They had OD almost 18 months ago, then had a mmc and now all looking ok at the 12 week scan. But again it's taken 18 months since the drilling...

Sending all my ladies who are still trying lots of :dust:

welcome Milynn. :flower: here u really get lots of advise and suggetion from beautiful ladies of this thread. Af without meds is great. Best of luck for clomid cycle.
tella - 5dpo hun. Fingers crossed for u.
cullen and nikkia - enjoy 2nd trimester of being pg. Its amazing and speachless feeling to see our little one for firsttime. I am waiting for my scan.
maria- can ur baby sit alone? How she looks like now? Post us her new pic, love to see it. I am feeling tired all the day. Nausea feeling started from last two days. Breast really hurt. Wearing sports bra all the time feel good. Didnt tell anyone about my pg even my mother in law. Decide to tell after scan. Think to do scan at 9week i.e. 5th feb. Is chicken liver eating oneday will harm my baby? Mom made chilly chicken with little soya sauce last week. Is it ok to eat that food small amount? I am worried to eat any food every time. I eat lots of fiber food but cant help with constipation. Drink 2ltr water per day. I try banana, pear, oat, cylium husk.
kyla - waiting for good news hun.appointment with consultant why?
lots of baby :dust: to other ladies. Dont give up hope od will show the trick.

:hi: and welcome Milynn!
Thank you! I'm glad reading the thread has helped you, it really helped me over the past year. It's a great place for ltttc ladies to share in their experience, to chat about their feelings, ask questions and to get inspirations as the wave of BFPs happen.
Great news about AF arriving :happydance: Good luck with the clomid, are you doing any other cycle monitoring such as temping? Really looking forward to hearing about your progress and ultimately celebrating your bfp with you in the future :hugs:

Maria - Great news about your friend! OD is such an incredible help towards getting pregnant, even if it does take longer for some ladies than others. Another July baby!! I was always jealous of my 2 friends and their July babies, I had a winter baby and this one is the same, it was so cute to be able to see tiny newborn feet and legs in summer instead of them being bundled up in snowsuits!

Maria & Anupur - I've been really lucky in that my consultant has taken a huge interest in seeing me during pregnancy. I had a wait to get referred up to him (he's the top specialist locally) and he's the only one able to prescribe Femara apparently. As I got pregnant first cycle of Femara after the drilling, I think he's using me as an example to allow other consultants to prescribe it in Clomid resistant ladies.
I saw him last week, partly also because of my history with DS turning footling breech at 38 weeks then back again with polyhdramios, and my appointment next week is following up on my high blood pressure in clinic last week and to get my urine sample results - I had +++Leucocytes and +++ blood so it's either an infection or it picked up some of the plug. Really happy to have the extra support.

Anupur - I understand eating a lot of chicken liver is a bad idea because of the high dose of vitamin A it contains, but you won't have done any harm by eating it as a one off. Sorry about the constipation, I've had bouts of it. Can you eat prunes? They do well and keep up with the psylium husk. I'd not bother telling your MIL until you're ready. Hehe, so happy for you and your hubby :hugs:

Tella and Keisha - I totally agree with Maria, you both have to be next! I know it's taken longer for you both, but we're all cheering you on. I've posted before about my brother telling me in my despair about ltttc, that you can't defy medical science, eventually you'll both get your BFPs and I can't wait to celebrate them! :flower:

Anupur - over here they don't recommend eating liver as Kyla mentioned. I remember I couldn't eat spicy/chilly food because I wasn't used to it and it gave me indigestion. But if you are used to it and ate it regularly before pregnancy I think you should be fine.
Does your mum know? I'm sure she's over the moon. Yes 9 weeks is a good time for a scan - not long!
Yes, Sophia can now sit on her own, she tries to crawl but can't yet. She loves standing and jumping. She eats 3 purées a day and also porridge and yoghurt - so far she likes her food.
Kyla - that's very lucky. Usually consultants don't get involved at all!

Thanks for the love and BFP :baby:Congrats also to Anpur05, Maria, Nikkia and anyone else I missed!
Kyla I have read about doing so much over the past 2 yrs that now after OD when things might be finally working I'm scrambling :wacko:trying to remember "0h shoot what am I supposed to be doing!!" So yes with your reminder I will be temping!! Any other advice for the New Kid on the block I welcome with open arms from all of you :help:
