anyone got pregnant after ovarian drilling?

Hi Arza im abit confused, why arent you eligible for ivf iui until your 30?? is that something to do with the area you live in? im from bradford,i've had a cycle of ivf in april this year on the nhs and im 27... sadly i got a bfn :-(

Reenzjame dont worry your af will come, i had od on 26th sept and then af arrived 27 days later. wow! i couldnt blieve it as i've always been irregular.so try to relax and not think about it too much

WOW!!! Congrats ladies Pitty & MariaF, so happy for you! Wishing you both a H & H 9months.

GL to all the ladies testing this week, and happy BDing to all the ladies waiting to O.

AFM i am 12dpo, but i doubt that i will get a +HPT because we only BDed the day after Oing. I was suppose to start IUI in Dec, but decided to enjoy Thankgiving & Black Friday shopping with family members in the US. We just need a break, so hopefully we will start in January 2012.

Welcome back Keisha :hugs: Look at what just relaxing brought Maria, hope it does the same for you!!

AFM > Another - OPK yesterday and my temps are nothing to go by. Im just gonna try and BD every other day untill i either get a +OPK or crosshairs on my chart

:dust: to everyone!

yeah im holding on iv got my appointment in jan so iv got novem cycle which im going take northistrine for sunday and december cycle and then my appointment if im not pregnant im just scared cos i dunno what they are going to say to me :(

Thanks Tella, I hope that SOY work for you, I have bought a bottle early last year, but i haven't opened it, i have heard really good things about, but on the other hand they caution not to take if you have a regular cycle, because SOY have the potential to mess up your cycles. Good luck!! Hope SOY will bring you your miracle!

Tomorrow is my Hubby's birthday so i am so excited! We both get the day off work so we will be having a great day!

Hello there ladies. Im new here and if we were face to face, I'd enter with hugs to everyone for two reasons. 1-Im so grateful to find some place I can share with others knowing that they fully understand what Im going through and 2-because infertility brings a huge rollercoaster of emotions and is such a struggle. So THANK YOU ladies for being here!!
About me-Im 29 and my husband is 38. We both work with kids (him-a pediatric dentist and me-a foster care supervisor) and have been praying for children. I have been diagnosed with (lean) PCOS. Because of my age and urgency (and b/c PCOS symptoms were freaking me out), my doc opted to go strait to OD. I had my surgery on Sept 30th. It went well but he did find some polyps. I had my first period (Since June) on Oct 13th and today marks day 14 after so I was hoping to find a happy face on my O kit but it was a big fat circle. Im trying not to be discouraged and even feel a little ashamed posting this as some of you ladies have been going through this process MUCH longer than I have. Doc says if I dont ovulate in 3 months, we can try clomid. Not sure if my husband will be up for that (He has a hard time wrapping his head around it ethically-anyone else experience this with their husbands?) so Im praying it doesnt get to that.
I love the success stories I have been reading and felt I should post to say that OD went really well for me. Praying it is successful but as for pain, recovery, etc-it went really well. That and it has paused my PCOS symtoms which my doc said could last anywhere from 3 months to a year...
Anyway-Im excited to be here and again am grateful that I have found a few ladies to share with! :)

Welcome :hi: CMPalmer82!!!!!!

I felt exactly the same when i came accross this thread on BnB! My first cycle after OD, i only O'd on CD25  and had a 13day LP which totals to 38day cycle. Thereafter i got my hands on some Clomid and took it for 2 months and O'd around CD15/16 with a 30day cycle which was amazing as I didnt O on clomid before OD and never O'd on my own either.

So dont be discouraged yet, there is an alternative to clomid that is natural called Soy Isoflavones.

My DH was and sometimes are also a bit reluctant to try new things but told him that if he wants something we go through all lenghts to get it and i expect the same from him on this.

Welcome CMPalmer! This is the BEST thread on the internet for OD! I was so happy to find it as well. These girls are great. I think the months following OD can be stressful because you want to see proof that what you've just been through did some good! The results on this thread have been all over the chart, but it's just so nice to be able to chat with women to GET IT!

My DH and I aren't opposed to clomid or injections, but we do have a hard time wrapping our brains around IVF ethically - for ourselves - we don't care what anyone else does. My dh has a harder time emotionally with going through any treatment. In fact, just yesterday we had a big chat about whether or not to try injections again and he just can't go there anymore, so I guess that's no longer an option for us. I guess you can look at it as at least your dh cares..??

By the way - I also had polyps removed, so we can bond over that. ;)

Jennie - the first 2 months after OD were the worst for me emotionally. I didn't think it did any good and I felt like I had no other options. I'm still not convinced I'm ever going to end up ovulating, but I have seen improvements in my health and blood work since then, so that helps my emotional state. Keep the faith and hopefully you'll see some improvements down the road.

So ladies - my acupuncturist told me about a book that would really help my PCOS. It's by a doctor that deals with diabetes and he feels he's found a cure through diet (I know - we've heard it all before). He has some amazing stats from studies he's done, and were it not for those stats, I would totally put the book aside. He recommends a vegan diet - no animal products. I have a major problem with cutting out entire food groups (which I know "animal products" isn't a food group, but you know what I mean), so I'm really not sure what to think. His findings through his studies are phenomenal though and it's really making me think. Are any of you vegetarian or vegan? I just don't know if I could go there, but I'm almost thinking it's worth a shot.

Hey CMPalmer82 :flower:

I had OD in early march '11 and just got my BFP a week ago. I took a total of 8 months of Clomid (both before and after OD) and although I ovulated on almost every cycle we still didn't fall pg. The cycle we got pregnant was no Clomid or anything AND I didn't get a positive OPK until CD24

This thread is fantastic! LTTTC and PCOS are very emotional things and the ladies on here all offer amazing support! For me it was just knowing that I wasn't alone made it so much better when I was in my darkest hour...

Would you and your hubby be OK with herbal supplements? Like soy or sage leaf? These both help with stimulating ovulation.

Hello to all!

Thankyou for all your replies, I really appreciate your concerns.

Maria - I used to use conception vitamins, EPO, and I do the OPK's its all just seems costly when results are not seen, if you know what I mean. I have used Egg whites as a lubricant as well, (dont ask) I read somewhere it helps, but I guess the problem is sometimes I dont trust myself enough.
I do not mind taking Clomid at all, I wanted to take that after OD and after reading stories on here like KStan's I wished that my FS had done the OD before putting me on Clomid, but everything happens for the best - (i guess)! So yeah , I will definately go on the Clomid, just waiting for the witch to come, I hope it does soon - so I can make a start on it, its just when the NHS Doc told me that there is no other option for me until Im 30! It's also the different things that the doctors keep saying i.e. completely contradictory!

Cridge - I am definately going to go see my private specialist and pay his £160 for 10 minutes!!!!:growlmad: Just to see what he says, coz like you I think more needs to be done for me, if they could just atleast monitor my cycle to see if it is working. Like this last cycle, I got a +ve OPK on Day 24 of my cycle, and thereafter I was hoping to see that my boobs got sore, and all the normal things I get (after OD) when I ovulate - but this month - nothing, I have done pregnancy tests and all are -ve! I have been temping,my temps have been very eratic, up and down, then after the +ve OPK the temps rose almost 4 days later, and even that just marginally. My temps did drop over the last 2 days so hoping to see the witch but no signs as yet.
I have decided that once the next cycle starts I will use all the things I stopped using and going 'gung ho' :haha: into TTC!

With regards to diet, I am not Vegan, but I totally agree with you, I cannot just limit, its like more incentive when someone says you can't do this! LoL!
On my diet, I tried to eat all natural produce, and avoid sweet things as reducing your insulin resistance will truly help.

Jennievictoria - I wouldn't go with what my doc said, not sure what guidelines he is working on, but as Munzy says she has got ivf on the NHS, so my perception is correct, they work on guidelines! U should see your specialist I really hope for your sake that they give you some better news. :hugs:

Munzy - Trust me I am as confused as you are!

Welcome to all the new ladies I do pray that OD has worked for you. :hugs: After my OD, I ovulated 10 days later and had a 27 day cycle. Everyone has had different experiences - be patient and let your body do what it needs to, (easier said then done) I know! Also I have gone natural for thelast 5 cycles, but again that was by choice.

Keisha - I hope that you will be our 3rd +ve after Maria and Pitty! We can all be next...LoL! :winkwink:

:dust: TO ALL!!! Including our new OD graduates Maria and Pitty!!!

Oh wow, Pitty - I'm so jealous :haha:

No chance of a scan for me for at least the next 2 weeks :dohh:

Really glad they saw everything in the right place!

AFM - sickness seems to be getting a little worse. But I appreciate it actually!

Pitty that is phenomenal news!!!! You gonn have a healthy little bundle of joy soon!

Maria, i can just imagine that every day feel like a eternity if you have to wait for a scan. I think if i had the money i would buy a sonar machine :haha:

Mommymel, I also really hope it works for you! I will have to fly down to CT for your baby shower :D

Tella - I always think I'd love to have a scan machine. But then I know I won't have a clue what it all means! I mean even when the nurse points stuff out to me and I stare at the screen point blank it still all looks balck and grey :dohh:

I suppose but once you have it you will get a trained eye

Im gonna get a doppler when im preg. Atleast that is easy to work.
