April ‘baby’ showers 2020

Mine aren’t rubbish sleepers too, 5am isn’t normal for ds, luckily dh Is self employed so I get up then go back for an hour, sometimes he can be 6 or very rare 6:30
He has started sleeping through the night though at 22 months haha
He doesn’t always nap either, if he sleeps all night he just won’t always nap

Dd started sleeping through the night at just turned 2, 2 month straight before ds was born
She was awful at night waking about 2-3 times, hv suggested we move her from
Cot to bed and it worked after 1 night she was sleeping through, she’s still an early riser though 5:30-6 usually

Soon I will put ds in her room and get them bunk beds, found some smaller ones that look perfect, that was even though baby will Be with us for the first 6 months or so, I can still use he nursery during the night as has changing table and rocking chair
So I definitely need ds sleeping through the night now, even if it means getting up stupidly early!

Scan was ok yesterday, rest of heart measurements were good, she just still couldn’t get the spine properly so we will have to leave that now, what she saw looks good anyway
She said she’s low down in my pelvis she’s practically in my legs and her bottom is resting in my pelvis like a hammock lol
She said only way they would see the whole spine how they like is to remove my pubic bone haha
So after having a wee, walking about, jumping, wriggling, laying on my side to scan, tilting bed back and putting a big cushion underneath we have up!

We went to Pizza Hut after and I ate so much but it was so good!

Haha ok now I sound like a spoilt brat who actually has an awesome sleeper! Guess I’ve been super spoilt with her sleeping through for so long so shouldn’t complain too much at the early wake ups! It’s just she’s been one who follows all these standard sleep charts for amount of sleep at each age online- so don’t know why she has suddenly shifted.

Glad the scan went well Star! Sounds like she’s super snug in your pelvis. Will they try to measure again, or they are happy with the little they have seen?

OMG Pizza Hut sounds so good right now!

Yum pizza hut! I've not had pizza hut in ages, quite possibly over a year.
Bless her sitting in your pelvis like that. Glad the rest of the scan went well though.
You'd think with older kids I would get a decent sleep, but even on the nights they don't wake up my bladder gets me up. If ds4 needs a wee he'll come and get me and I'll have to go with him, and ds3 often comes in because he can't get back to sleep after waking up, or can't fall asleep at all and has just been laying there for hours, or his Pjs or sheets feel wrong.

It could just be the cold as you say, or she's coming down with something, or even because she knows there's a change coming. Don't feel bad for complaining though, it's what we are here for. If you're used to getting a certain amount of sleep then a change is hard especially when pregnant, and tired toddlers aren't fun at all :haha:

The start of my last post was meant to say mine ARE rubbish sleepers and 5am IS usual lol, it’s so painfully slow to type on my phone on B&B and then it just autocorrects everything!

Touch wood my phone is alright but my laptop is like that. You can type as fast as you like but it takes forever to come up on the screen to check what you've written

Thanks mother! That is actually it- it’s not the early wake up for me it’s just she is a little madam when she is so tired! A cranky toddler is the worst! So thanks!

They have Noro virus at her daycare going around? Is this dangerous when you’re pregnant? I’ve sent get today but now wondering if I should have kept her in case she gets it and it’s dangerous for baby.

Don’t worry I figured it was autocorrect!

Let's hope you do.

My niece just dropped off 7 bags of her son's old clothes. There's everything from tiny baby as he was early, to a year old. I can't wait to go through it, but I finished my Christmas wrapping right before she arrived so my backs killing me

LOve looking through baby clothes! Glad you have lots for little one

I've had a quick go through and got it down to 5 bags by taking out seasonal stuff that is the wrong age group (shorts that won't fit him until January, snow suits for 3 months when it'll be July) after Christmas I'll get out the stuff from my boys from the loft and pick through her stuff more carefully. I don't think I'll have to actually buy any clothes unless I find something I love when out and about.

Great it looks like you won’t need to buy much Mother!

Exciting your DS felt baby. Was he excited?

Yeah, he's said before that he felt him but I knew he hadn't because the baby hasn't actually been moving :haha: but I was reading to him in bed at the time and I don't think he realised that was what it would feel like, I asked if he felt that and he started grinning.

Yeah definitely, my nieces mum has offered me some other bits from her daughter, like a baby wearing wrap and practical things that are gender neutral so that'll help a lot financially. I just have to remember what came from her and return it when I'm done so she can sell it :haha:

I'm still back and forth on names but DH has thrown a spanner in the works by suggesting the family name we use be his nephews but I'm worried it will cause offense to the other nephew so may have to rethink the middle names entirely. I also have about 5 options for first names, 3 of them my ideas, but none I'm in love with.
My ideas are Noah, Elliott, Reuben. DH suggested Lennon and DS4 suggested Freddie. Middle names were originally going to be Lennon Blyth, (Blyth being both mine and my dad's middle name) but now DH suggested Jamie, so could be Jamie Scott.
We already having Jimi, Zac (Zachariah) Nate (Nathaniel) and Seth so I feel like out of all of them Noah or Reuben fits best and we could shorten Reuben to Roo/Reu, and it would avoid the whole "2 kids with the same initial" thing I was worrying about. The only problem with Reuben is MIL wanted it for DS1 and I hated it, probably because she suggested it, but in the last 14 years it's really grown in me. Now I think it's cute.

I actually think they all suit your names already! But I’m biased with the names as I love Noah and Elliot! They’re like my fav boys names. I think Elliot Jamie Scott is cute, but also like Noah Jamie Scott. If I’m honest I’m not too keen on Lennon. Butttt im only saying that as you’ve asked as it’s your choice!
I think Reuben and Freddie are also really cute! You’ve got a good choice of names! No wonder you don’t love one, as they are all nice!

Lennon is my least favourite, DH wanted it for Ds4 so I figured we would use it as a middle name this time so I've only really included it as a first name so I don't offend him by just dropping it :haha: our eldest is named after Jimi Hendrix and DH likes the idea of another musician name. I think people would call him Lenny which I'm not keen on after having known one.

Ive always loved Reuben but I do agree all the names on your list are lovely
Reuben and Noah are my favourites
