Hi mama so far I've been trying progesterone cream after ovulation, I think it may have had some effect as ever since my mc my ovulation day has been cd18 this month it was cd17. So I'll be using it again as of tomorrow to help lengthen out the LP I'm also taking bromelain, which is said to thicken your uterine lining. My af is generally 3 days: 1 day light, heavy then spotting, this month it was spotting heavy, light, light so perhaps it has helped a little. I also take the conception multi vit by pregnacare with omega 3 and I've just started taking b6.
It sounds a lot but for me it's quite important as I don't absorb vitamins well due to crohns disease, I also have a b12 injection every 3 months but again that is down to having crohns, it just so happens it's also good for conception!
I also reason that the supplements I do take won't do me any harm if I'm not actually deficient in them (though I'm pretty sure I am!)
I don't think I would ever try soy or Angus cactus as I've heard they can really mess up your cycle if it's already fairly regular and consistent, which mine is. My only concern is I ovulate fairly late which makes my LP on the short side which can then stop a fertilised egg implanting properly. So I'm researching different ways to bring ovulation forward and lengthening my LP.
Does that all make sense
Sorry I think I may have babbled a bit there!!
Hi ladies! Sorry to read about the MCs that some of you had to go through
I am due to test at the end of March, but am lurking a bit here anyway.
Mom2sam - nice to see you in here!
Andrea - I'm also experimenting with supplements including progesterone cream after O. For uterine health, I am using RRL tea...it has replaced my coffee since I have cut out almost all caffeine since starting TTC. I take a B complex and extra Vit C too. Something must be working because I got a LOT of ewcm around O this cycle (sorry if TMI for some!)
I am also taking AC (vitex) but only before O. My cycle is pretty normal except for my short-ish LP. I was sooo nervous to take vitex because I didn't want it to mess up my already fairly normal cycle. I always O between days 14-19 (19 was when I first went off BCP, and 14 was last cycle and it was very short). This month was day 16, so I'm okay so far. Who knows what will happen if I am still TTC next cycle. If the vitex messes me up, I'll have to ween off of it.
Yellowduck - I started using OPKs this month, and I have to say that, even though they are a bit more of a regimented approach, I knew exactly when to BD for optimal results, so I'm now a fan of them...I'm a control freak anyway, and don't often take a relaxed approach to anything, so I had no hope of chilling out about TTC
I use cheapies and do it twice a day (at about 9am and 6pm) to make sure I understand the timing of my surge more specifically. I also temp, but that's not a very relaxed approach. It is however, the only way to really confirm that O happened. I find that my O pain also lets me know kind of...my first month off BCP temping confirmed that I didn't O - I still had ewcm so thought it was maybe about to happen, but no O pain and no temp shift. Next month, the O pain was so intense (I'm guessing since it was my first time Oing after years of BCP use!) With CM and OPKs only, you can get evidence that O is about to happen and get your surge too, but only the temp shift confirms that your body didn't just gear up and then stop.
Wishing heaps and heaps of
to you all!
