Hello every one

Wow sounds like alot has been going on since my last post on here yesterday lol...

Well i have lost heaps of weight.. i am now down to 78kilos (this is less than what i was before i fell pregnant. i was 85kilos post-pregnancy) so i am happy with that.. but i can feel myself putting the weight back on Which sucks so easy healthy eating diet and walking and the Wii Fit here we come lol.

Allan is away tonight Layla and My first night home alone SCARY!

Hannah - How are things with Marc?
Ashy - I wish i could help you out with housing if we lived closer i would let you move in with us untill you found something.
Chel - Have you done a test??? Fingers crossed for you.... What do you want it to saY????

Allan and I have decided that we are going to wait untill Layla turns 2 untill we even talk about having another one. I wanted another straight away but i just wanna wait and watch Layla grow up a little and relax and chill with her... I am lucky cause i dont need to head back to work which makes it alot easier as well.

So I am up, Sophie has been bathed and fed and now asleep in her swing!
She has her injections next wednesday bless her, not looking forward to it!
Alreay had my postnatal check up at 6 weeks.
Gonna go straighten my hair in a bit, make myself look gorgeous

Well done Mandy for all your weight loss!!

I'm proud of myself for losing 2 stone 4lb already but I thought that breastfeeding would help the rest of the weight to come off easily and that isn't happening!

I managed to eat all my points yesterday.. it was quite difficult to get them all in but I didn't feel hungry at all!

Started today off well, actually managed to have breakfast!!

Amelia had a bit of a odd night last night..

It got to 8pm and I wanted to make tea for me and Dan... Amelia decided she wanted more booby.. so I fed her and after 15mins she decided instead of latching on she would scream so I'd latch her on and she would suck a couple of times and then come off and scream.. That carried on and on and in the end I gave her a bottle of EBM n I was amazed she took it from me!

Then she settled at 10pm after spending some time with Daddy.

She slept through until 4.30.. so gave her food and after 10 mins feeding she fell asleep.. she then woke up at 6.10 and fed for 5 mins, had her bum changed and went back to sleep... until 10am!

And now she has just had a 15min feed and is just chilling in my lap.. and looks like she might go back to sleep!

Hopefully this means her growth spurt is over and she will be a bit more chilled out now instead of feeding constantly!

How is everyone today??

It is meant to be sunny-ish here today with highs of 20c so Miss Amelia and I will be going out for a nice long walk in a short while!

Yeah she is just chilling on the bed and slowly drifting off

I'm going to try and do my hair and make up soon and make myself look semi decent!

Bless Graham.. didn't he lose his job a few months ago too? Big hugs for you all

I keep worrying that Dans work will let him go because he is still only on a temporary contract.

There are so few jobs in his trade in this country, in USA there are loads and loads though!

Yeah he did, Basically he worked for his dads business for 10 years, his dad went bankrupt in November then Graham started at another garage and it was really busy over christmas then it queietened down in Feb so they had to get rid of someone and as Graham was the last one in he was first to go.

So then he started at another garage and they said that his wages would go up in April to what he needed, and then I had the baby and Stuart died and he went back last week to the boss saying he could afford to pay him the rise he promised which put us right in shit creek, so Graham was looking for another job anyway and then on Thursday the boss said that he couldnt afford another mechanic so it was kinda a mutual desicion.

He wants completely out of the motor trade as he has lost his passion for it since his dads garage went under, but we cant find something he can do which is going to pay him as much as he would get being an mot tester//mechanic. He has a lot of friends cards to fix this week so we have enough this week but next week no money coming in so far!!! Going down the job centre today as he is going to sign on etc and see what they can do to help.

Have you got Sophie into a routine yet? And what do you do to 'play' and entertain her?

I keep reading about people who have put their newborns into routines already, and what not..

Amelia isn't in one at all, I got told by my HV not to bath her everyday because she has got a fair amount of dry skin on her.

I still feel so clueless!!

She is kinda in her own routine, Every 3 hours she has a feed/bum change.

Usually it goes like this:
She gets up at 5.30 and has bum change and normally 3ozs - back to sleep
Gets up again at 9.00 dressed and fed normally 5ozs - has a little nap
again at 12
again at 3 (sometimes she sleeps until 4)
again at 6
again at 9
Then she sleeps through until 5.30am and it all starts again!!
Although lately she has been going through to 6.30 which has been nice.

Obviously if she sleeps until 4pm then she will have a feed at 7pm and then 10pm etc.
I make up 6oz bottles for her and she usuallly takes between 3-6 of it, she averages out at having 25-28ozs a day which is right for her weight.
I dont bath her everyday, I normally do every other day and I usually do it just before the 9am feed. But I am trying to incorporate it into her bedtime feed.

FOr playtime I normally just sing/talk to her, put her in her swing which I have dangles some colourful toys from, lay her on her playmat and I make the noises with the dangling things.
I also have this https://www.amazon.co.uk/LeapFrog-Roll-Rhyme-Melody-Block/dp/B00008X35S so I just roll that around whilst she is on her change mat

If she is on her play mat then I normally put all her cuddly toys around her so she can look at them as well.

There is a book I read called 'The Contented Little Baby' which contains routines for baby's, mainly aimed towards breastfed babies but I still found it useful and will be trying one of the routines when she gets to 2 months. My friend has a little boy who sleeps from 7pm-7am she used the book to get him into a routine, The only thing is you do have to tkae some of it with a pinch of salt as it tells YOU when to eat etc https://www.amazon.co.uk/New-Contented-Little-Baby-Book/dp/0091882338

Even if you dont get on with the routines there are some great hints and tips in there which I foudn helped, especially with winding etc

I have that book but I haven't read it properly.. I am feeding Amelia when she wants because I want her to become a booby fed pro haha and if she is too hungry it is so hard to latch her on.

She had got herself into a nice routine when I was bottle feeding her my EBM.

I keep singing to Amelia and she lays there happily talking to herself

Anyone else would be crying because I'm an awful singer haha

She will get there I am sure!! Dont blame you for giving her boob when she wants it, you had such a journey to get her there so if she wants it just give it to her haha!!

Sophie likes twinkle twinkle little star, she gurgles and smiles away.
I also go to a mummy baby class called wiggle and giggle, they incorporate singing and play at the same time, and I get to learn lots of new songs hehe

Hey everyone, hope all ok ?

I keep forgetting about this thread since it got moved !!!

Lucas did his first 'im scared' scream today, my ohs friend was playing with him making noises and he obviously did something wrong as the next thing Lucas was screaming like he has never done before and it took us ages to calm him back down !!!

Has anyones lo had the jabs yet ? If they are asleep do they usually wake up from the jab ?

Hey everyone

Had such a nice day today.. went for a walk into town (3 miles) and spent 4 hours walking around and browsing and spent sometime with my best friend and then another 3 mile walk back home.

Amelia was a little angel

Made myself a chicken salad when I got home and I think I have made myself ill, poorly belly

Can't believe how gorgeous the weather has been! It will be nice to have a summer when I'm not working constantly!!
