Baby Dancin' Newlyweds! [WOW!!! 12 bfp!]

As much as it completely sucks, it isn't abnormal to have an annovulatory cycle once in a great while. It's when you have them a lot that you have to worry about PCOS and such. Your hormones could very possibly still be trying to 'iron themselves out' after birth control. It does super suck and the stress it causes can very well just make it worse. :-/ If they ruled the Thyroid out, I would think it probably has to do with your hormones 'balancing' still. However... just from dealing with PCOS for the past 15-20 years, I will say that if you don't have AF for three months you should talk to your doctor about inducing it. You really don't want the lining getting too thick. (Not to mention AF REALLY starts to get irritating when you are shedding MONTHS worth of lining) PCOS women are prescribed Provera to 'get things going' usually. My hubby's cousin has to wait until CD50, take a HPT, then take the Provera. Even with PCOS, my cycles typically come within 50 days... at least for the past 4 years. When they didn't... I was only prescribed Provera twice. Each time I had refills on it, but I would go home and not take it. I mean, at the time... no AF was a BLESSING! I didn't see any problem with that! *sigh* Ah... ignorance!

Anyhow... I really hope the stupid :witch: shows soon! Just don't let it stress you out too much. If the doctors were really concerned, they would be doing more. (I know, easier said than done, right?) Never fun to have to 'wait it out' when you are TTC.

Lovn sunshine-after 6 long cycles of ntnp/ttc, I got my BFP last night at 10dpo!!! A FRER this morning confirmed it! YAY!!!

Yay!!!!! Congratulations ready!!! That's awesome!
Happy and healthy 9 months! I'll update page 1!

How's everyone else doing?

Well, I think I have somewhat positive news about what's going on with me. At least it seems like good news to me!

I have started with OvaCue this cycle, and since I am still trying to understand it all I have been back and forth on their forums with one of their specialists to decipher my chart. They have a sample PCOS chart and my chart looks nothing like it. Sarah (the specialist) said that all charts are different, but my chart doesn't show the fluctuations of a PCOS chart. My numbers are more steady, more like a normal chart. Which could mean the Pregnitude is, in fact, evening out my hormone levels after 2 and a half months. (they say results are seen after regularly taking for 3-6 months) So THAT made my morning! Also, if the Ovacue is correct... which my suspicions say there is a good chance it is. It confirmed ovulation today at CD22 which is 3 days earlier than last cycle and should put me in a normal cycle range. My OPKs started getting darker last night and even darker this morning... fading in as usual, but still not what I would call positive. So there is a HUGE possibility that I am one of those girls that OPKs show positive AFTER ovulation has occurred. My temp typically spikes the day after a positive OPK, except last cycle when it spiked 2 days after... so that is confusing, but I have read that not all women get the spike the next day... that in can be gradual with fluctuations.

It is curious to think that maybe I am O'ing a day or 2 earlier than OPKs are telling me.

Great news! Sounds positive:happydance:

I found your post very interesting because I have noticed that my OPKs don't go positive until AFTER i have optimal cervical position and fluid. It's been frustrating me that my body says one thing and OPKs say another and they don't match up in the textbook kind of way. I've decided we are just going to BD until I see a temp shift and while I'll keep the OPKs in mind, I'm not gonna wait around for them to go positive before we dance. Maybe that's why we haven't conceived yet.

Well, in a perfect world, I could get hubby to BD at least every other day while all things are looking good. Unfortunately, hubby gets up at 2:30am to go to work and by the time I get home (6 pm if I don't go to the gym, 7 pm if I do) hubby is usually passed out in a chair and it can be hard to wake him. He does stay awake sometimes, but I can't get him to stay up and have the energy to BD that much do I try to find the best days to encourage him. If only I could just be fertile on the weekend... we would have been pregnant long ago! *sigh*

I'm around 2 dpo. I'm not sure if I mentioned it but upon my last appointment with my obgyn she discovered I may have low progesterone levels and my luteal phase is a few days too short. So at 8 dpo I'm supposed to go in and have a blood pregnancy test, progesterone test, and progesterone shot if it's too low. Hopefully we catch it this cycle. We want to conceive by November. She said if I'm not pregnant in 2 months, she'll start me on some sort of medication to make my eggs healthier. Has anyone heard of this or know what it is?

Who knew ttc would be so much work???

Well, she may be referring to metformin. It is typically a first line of treatment, especially with PCOS. However, there is a new supplement out called Pregnitude. It contains Myo-Inositol and Folic Acid. Only been in the US since May I think? Before it was available in the US, it was available as Inofolic in Europe. Myo-Inositol occurs naturally in our bodies, but is typically deficient in PCOS women. It helps to create healthy follicular fluid and better egg quality. It can also help with insulin resistance and help PCOS women who do not ovulate, to ovulate regularly. My OBGYN told me about it in June and I have been on it ever since. It is possible your OBGYN has never heard of it though. It is still REALLY new! It is also available over the counter. You can order it from the Pregnitude website via Amazon or you can ask your local pharmacy to stock it. You will have to ask for it though, it is kept behind the counter at pharmacies. I buy mine from the website and it is $34.99 for a 30 day supply. It is a powder that you mix with 8oz of water in the morning and the evening everyday. They say it takes 3-6 months to see full results, but ALL of the studies are very promising! It's working pretty well for me. I always ovulated and had a cycle, but usually they were well over 40 days with ovulation being around or after CD30. I started Pregnitude mid-cycle at the beginning of July and my cycle was the longest ever! Plus I was moody and had headaches and some mid-cycle spotting. I was actually skeptical. BUT my next cycle was only 37 days with ovulation happening on CD25! My current cycle (after 2 and a half months of Pregnitude) I ovulated Wednesday, on CD22. Confirmed by my OvaCue Monitor. Plus I had a positive OPK that night. (It appears OPKs show my surge after I have ovulated, I learned that from my OvaCue monitor) Fertility Friend hasn't acknowledged my O yet on my chart, but my temp is climbing so it should tomorrow. That means this cycle will be in a 'normal' range! Yay! Pregnitude is really the only consistent change I have made.

You should read more about it and maybe ask your OBGYN about it. It seems to be some good stuff! :)

Also... some women have referred to Pregnitude as 'natural clomid' AND there is a story about a woman going in for IVF egg retrieval. In prior IVF she had never produced very many quality eggs for IVF. She started taking the Pregnitude/Inofolic for a few months before going in for another IVF egg retrieval. The doctor was blown away, because all of a sudden she had 9 quality eggs for retrieval. She hadn't told him she was taking Pregnitude, but when she did he said it must have been what helped.

Copied from the Fertility Authority website:

In clinical trials, Dr. Roseff and others found that Pregnitude improved insulin-resistance as well as metformin did in women with PCOS. In addition, Dr. Roseff found that:

  1. Pregnitude improved ovarian function, improving ovulation frequency and promoting menstrual cycle regularity
  2. Women with fertility challenges ovulated on over-the-counter Pregnitude as frequently as patients taking prescription Clomid (clomiphene citrate), another drug that often has side effects.
  3. Many patients undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF) were found to have significantly better quality eggs and embryos after taking Pregnitude
.

(sorry, I get super excited about Pregnitude because it has worked some wonders for me!)

You've got so much great info Elpha!! :)

It's because I obsess! :haha: 5 months of researching on the internet and I should get some sort of college credit!!! :winkwink:

Plus... like I said... I am extremely excited about the Pregnitude. I would not be where I am (with ovulation and shorter cycles) had my OBGYN not recommended I start taking it immediately back in June. So if other women with PCOS (and maybe some without, who just need better egg quality) can benefit from this knowledge then I am going to pay it forward! Stuff is doing good stuff for me and I haven't even been on it a full 3 months yet.

How are things Sunshine? Been peeing on a bunch of sticks yet?

Haha you know me, started POAS yesterday [7 dpo! :haha:]

Doing good, keep flip flopping between convinced I'm preggy to there's no way :dohh: Very few symptoms compared to past months so we'll see!

Thank you so much for the reply! My cycles have gotten shorter and shorter after coming off of birth control. My first cycle I ovulated on day 28, then 32, and then 18, and 19. I went off of sugar as she suggested. I'm still cysting but it's a lot better. We aren't sure that I have PCOS yet..at least she hasn't said it but we'll see after this cycle. I'll have to ask her what medication she is thinking about and ask about pregnitude.

I'm supposed to go in on 8 dpo for my testing... where do you think I am at..? I really can't figure it out this cycle :/ My temps are sometimes really weird some cycles.

Hey girls! Hope everyone is ok!

Elpha you have totally sold Pregnitude to me, only problem is it's not available in the UK :(

Yay for finally getting some crosshairs!!! and you may be nearly 10dpo already?!! [way to skip nearly the entire tww!] That's still insane how long this cycle has been for you, btw.
How are you feeling?

[bummer on the Pregnitude not being available to you :(]
