Beach Bump Graduates!

Well the HV didnt stay long! Didnt even look at Harrison other than a glance across the room at alan holding him. She asked a few questiona about all of us, gave me loads of leaflets, books etc with various info in my area and then left!
At least i didnt get the 3rd degree about anything though.

There seems loads to do with babies in my area, im quite excited!!
We are taking Harrison to be weighed tomorrow, hes turning into a right chunk!

Emzee thanks for posting your birth story, i love reading about other peoples experiances. Yours sounds eventful!

My friends baby who was born today has unfortunalty had to go into Special Care, its to do with his blood sugar and temperature, it doesnt appear too serious but its still sad for Claire x

Lovely pic of baby Kinley, she looks great, eyes open and kind of alert, i hope this means Britt will be getting great news from now on!! xx

Hann - The GP told me to give N a drink of boiled water to check the thrush. He said if it is just milk the majority will wash away and if you rub tounge with your finger it will come off. Oral thrush wont move!! N's was all over the roof of her mouth, sides and lips too!! She was literally riddled but it did clear really quickly with Nystatin.

Hann - with infacol you have to use it for every feed so the hv told me yesterday and apparently it takes a few days to build up and become effective. It's not an instant relief from colic. I didn't know this til yesterday as I had been giving it to Logan adhoc before a feed when he showed signs of colic.

Dm - thanks for posting the pic of Kinley. She is beautiful. Hopefully the fact that she is breathing on her own is a positive sign. Hugs to Britt if you are speaking to her.

emzee - lovely pictures of Jaycob. Sorry to hear you are not well, sounds really awful what you have been through. Don't worry about not feeling like a mummy and that you are just a babysitter. You have been through a lot and you are still not well. Once you are up and about things will start to click.

BB - sorry your wee man is feeling poorly with the cold.

mel - sorry to hear about your friends wee boy. Hopefully its not too serious and he will be out soon. Glad your HV visit went well.

Jenni - totally sympthise with the night you had last night. We had one like that on saturday and sunday. I was like a walking zombie!! Hopefully things go better for you tonight.

caz - sounds like Ajay is settling down a bit for you. Hope you had a nice day with your MIL and work colleagues.

sherri - I had heard that oats helped too so my midnight snack when I am up feeding is a few oatcakes and cheese.

amanda - sorry to hear Billy has a cold too.

sorry if I missed anyone but had two days to catch up on.

AFM - Logan got weighed yesterday and has put on another 13.5oz in one week - Little guzzler. He also slept well last night from 10:30 to 2:30am and then from 3:20am to 7:30am - fabulous 8 hours sleep for me. Hopefully this will happen again tonight

Curlew I am jealous of your sleep! Well done to Logan for the weight gain!

And eve - great about atticus too - what a good boy!

Thank you for all your comments on wind remedies. I've been using infacol with each feed but it's not having an impact. I will def buy the colief then!
Clare - I can't get Belle to drink boiled water!
I have this infant gaviscon, they say that if you BF 'you should dilute it on warm water and bottle feed but she refuses it! I now have medicine that she will not take!
Any ideas??!

Mel - great that the HV went well!

georgie - sorry the stitches are still bad, if they send you back to hospital will they restituch you? Mind said they wouldn't because the risk of stitching an infection into it is too high and it would just tear again. They said they would restitch in 6-12 months if it needs it and that they would have to cut me again and redo the entire thing!
Mine is okay, still weeping but less painful but not looking much different!

Emee - you had a fairly similar labour to me except I had time to get the epidural and didn't have forceps.I also dillated quickly and pushed for over 2 hours, had the episiotomy and tore. I was desperate too for her to comd out so know exactly what youmean! Lovely photos though and hope you feel better soon

I think all babies hate water, N looks at me as if its poison! HV advised giving her the water when she is due a feed as she takes it thinking its milk and takes a little while to notice.

N is now FF so her gavisocon just goes in her bottle, it works really well for her. Only one episode of projectile vomit last week which is a massive improvement from every feed.

Maybe I should be trying it before the feed then! It says after on the instructions but she really is not having it at all. I'm hoping colief helps with the wind which may also help the reflux. Otherwise I'm going to see if I can get a syringe from a chemist tomorrow and squirt it in. Not sure she'll like that much either though!

could you maybe express then mix it into an ounce of ebm and give her that before she feeds? youd only have to pump once then divide it up

Linds i might try that - can't face it tonight though!

Already my night is looking like it's going to be tough - I fed for ages so she was def full but she has only slept for an hour and now I'm feeding again.
And so it begins......

Aah how's your night going Hann? I'm trying to get Leo to settle after a mammoth guzzle, he wouldn't let me burp him and now he's wriggling around all uncomfortable. Mummy warned you Leo! Lol

Emee, beautiful pics and thanks for sharing your labor story! Hope you feel better soon :hugs:

Mel, hope your friend's baby is okay. Glad the HV visit went well.

Hann, hope Belle takes her medicine and feels better. You deserve some sleep.

Curlew, I'm impressed with Logan's sleep schedule. Jill has had a few nights like that and it was heaven.

DM, thank you for the update on Britt and her beautiful baby.

I know there was more, but my mind has gone blank.

As for me, I had a great day yesterday out at the mall with my MIL. It was nice to get out of the house. She bought Jill a couple of pretty dresses and a ladybug costume for Halloween. I can't wait to take pictures of her in it. We also did lunch at a cafe. I should make more of an effort to leave the house because I feel so much better changing scenery :)

Hi everyone,

struggling to remember what people posted as I'm on iPhone one handed trying to settle Ajay!

Simmy - Ajay is the same with winding, cries everytime and sometimes doesn't burp at all then cries! It's no fun but I got three burps in this feed so have let him try and sleep now!

Curlew - your sleep sounds great! I wish Ajay would go more than four hours between feeds as I tend to get 90 mins max sleep inbetween feeds as he needs winding, settling etc.

Hope everyone else is ok xx

BVBBC - sounds like a lovely day out! I have been going to my MIL's this week fora change of scenary and it's nice. Once he sleeps more I hope to go shopping etc and get out and about.

I have had probably 3 hours sleep in small chunks all night! She has been constantly waking up. I feel so sorry for her as the reflux is obviously causing her pain. She just did a huge projectile vomit all over me, herself and the bed. She is over tired but won't settle. I have her next to me in bed now - she is squirming around and grunting with the occasional shreek. Just hoping she settles soon!
I've had the worst stomach too over the past hour do between the two of us it's not a happy scene.
Hoping she sleeps soon so that we can both get sone sleep!

Bv - sounds like you had a lovely day, so nice to be out!

Simmy - hope Leo settled! I laughed when I read your post as I sit there with Belle saying the same thing 'do a burp, you'll regret it if you don't etc!!

Oh Hann - I really feel for you, sounds like a horrible night. Hope you are asleep now and get some rest today. xx

Thanks Caz, I got 45 minutes sleep before the puking and screaming started again! Feeling very exhausted and at a loss of what to do!
I tried expressing and firstly barely anything came out despite the fact that she hadn't eaten much really all night. I mixed the gaviscon with it and she still rejected it!
She is now sat on me and wide awake but relatively calm. Hoping she is starting to feel better and we get a nap soon.
It's so hard the feeling of complete helplessness!!

Hann, you really do sound like you are having a nightmare! I really dont know what to suggest to you, just want to send you big:hugs:

We are going to get Harrison weighed this moring and tonight we are going out for a meal with our friends eho have a six week old, we are takoing both babies with us,should make for an interesting evening!! X

Oh dear poor Annabelle :( When N projectiles it mainly comes out her nose too and she spends alot of time after coughing and spitting out stuff mucus like.(probably trying to clear her passages) She wouldn't take anything either way too distressed!!

I have been reading the back of the package, jesus meds are hard to give when BF a baby. I know colief is a nightmare too as Linds has given up trying it with Soph for that reason!!

It says make it into a paste so think your right and syringe is the best option!!

Thanks clare, hoping if I get some sleep this morning I'll go to boots this afternoon and get a syringe. I didn't realise colief was a mixture - all baby meds should be a dropper!!

She has stopped crying and is feeding - declined the bottle again! I just hope she gets really sleepy and we bit head to bed again. Just an hour would even be amazing!

Mel - hope the weigh in and dinner are good!

im taking josh to the docs this afternoon cos he hasnt stopped crying since yest morning. i think he has colic.

im totally shattered.
