Beach Bump Graduates!

Jenni - I was up from 2 am till 5 as she was full of wind. Finally had her sleep for an hour then she woke at 6.15 wanting another feed and then again at 7.15 with more wind pains. She has now done some impressive farts and is sat on me hiccuping! This would all be a lot easier from tonight because my mum will go home and I'll at least have the spare room to go into instead of the sofa. I can't stay in the bedroom as Greg has to work. My mum reckons she is a light sleeper and has been staying here to help me out but both nights she has not heard her cry even though we have been walking up and down the flat and she has been screaming! Nit so much of a help really! She us happy to do the day part when she is all sleepy and just wants cuddling funnily enough!!

Hann...yeah, sometimes I'm glad i don't have "family" to help out. Seems it adds another layer of stress! They think are helping but it's really just another person to look after!!

That's it! It's been nice to have the company and she cleaned the bathrooms and bought food but when it comes to the nights, the day crying and the nappy changes she isn't so keen! At least I know that when she goes in a few hours I'll be able to cope because I already have been!

Ah Hann - poor you. My mum is staying in a few weeks as Neel is going to Spain for a wedding (one of his best mates). She has offered to do night feeds which is fantastic! I know she did for my sister so I'm hoping she will help in the nights.

Not bad night considering - he slept well after his feed at 2 but after the 6 am feedhe was grouchy. But he slept for an hour once he did settle so I managed to put some washing in, shower and make up his bottles.

Today I'm going to MIL's and then hve friends over from work late afternoon.

We had feeds at 1, 3 and then 6:30 am. Got an overactive letdown atm and the poor love keeps pulling off because its coming out too fast for her to swallow, then she gets squirted in the face  shouldnt laugh really, it almost went up her nose yesterday!!!

Morning all, I don't have much of an update but Britt has sent a picture of the beautiful Kinley and also has said she is breathing without a tube now which can only be good news. Isn't she beautiful?

https://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c306/lefunch/kinley.jpg

Oh she's so lovely!
That's great news that she's breathing without a tube!! I really hope she'll be OK- like you say- surely the breathing is a good sign?
Stay strong baby Kinley! :)

She is a gorgeous baby! Hopefully a good sign that she is breathing for herself. I hope Britt gets some good news and thanks for posting Linds

I just went to the doctors and have been givenbaby gaviscon, hopefully that will help her tummy. The doctor also said that her White Tongue will always be White as babies have White tongues from feeding - is that true? Do your babies have White tongues?

Joshs tongue is white from milk. it always looks stronger after a feed.

Oh thank you that's good to know! Hopefully it's not all thrush then and is just some milk!

thanks for posting the photo of Kinlay Linds. H is beautiful!

Hann- Ajay has a white tongue, so seems normal to me!

Just tried to have a nap whilst MIL looks after Ajay but can't sleep. Lunch time ke thinks!!! xx

Morining,

Linds, thanks for sharing the gorgeous pic of Kinley, great she is breathing on her own, hopefully that is a good sign and got my fingers crossed for her, Britt and the rest of the family.

Hann, yes Harrison also has the "white tongue" thing going on. He also is getting a bit of a break out of spots over his face bless him, they dont appear to be irritating him though.

Jenn, i agree re the family, i cant complain too much as my mum has been mindful about giving us space as well as helping out with ironing and cleaning whilst she has been here, i think its more the tiredness thing, i tend to hit a wall late afternoon and it doesnt matter who it is, i get to a point where ive had enough of communicating and being sociable apart with Alan and Harrison of course.

Well I woke up to some lovely news, one of my best friends gave birth at 415am to a baby boy (her second boy) called Ellis Christopher. She was induced yesterday as had GD and he was a weeny 6lb.2 So happy for her and lovely that we both have baby boys less than 3 weeks apart!

Got HV coming this afternoon, bit apprehensive as heard horror stories about them and hope we arent going to get critisized for everything.
Later on we are just going to go for a walk and im going to hopefully get a bit of cleaning in at some point.

Mel that is how I feel about seeing people - I am actually looking forward to being alone now. My mum has been great with all the helping but I think tiredness is creeping up on me (though can't sleep) and I want to try it being just me and Annabelle.
The HV we saw was really helpful and lovely so don't worry! Also lovely news about your friend!

Oh and has anyone tried colief? I fon't think infacol is working for us though she loves the taste of it!

I think Colief is meant to be pretty good Hann. I am having great success with various flavours of gripe water though at the mo....

How are your stitches now Hann? Ive been for a check up this morning and they still arent right :( She doesnt want me to have any more antib's for now so i took the option to wait a week and see her again so she can see any improvement as have seen a different Dr every time up till now. If not, then its back to the hospiatl for me :(

My little man has got a cold coming i think, he's really snotty and snuffly. Asked the Dr while i was there and she gave me some saline nose drops and checked him over. He's not too bad, just a bit grouchy and wants cuddling...Its horrible seeing him feeling rough, even if it is only a runny nose!

Linds thanks for the pic of Kinley, she's gorgeous. I hope breathing without the tube is a good sign.

Hann - Atticus' whole mouth is always white with milk!

AFM: The MW just came out for the last time and weighed Atticus, I told her he'd definitely had a growth spurt as his trousers have all become an inch too short over the past few days. He is now a whopping 10lb 1oz [he'll be 3 weeks tomorrow!] and has put on 8oz in FOUR DAYS! LOL Boobie monster :]

im sorry i havent been on much, ive had pretty much a bad week, been stuck resting so cudnt get to a computer and cant get on here with my fone, alot of my stiches split over the weekend and ive been in agony, i foned the number i was given to ring and all i was told was to rest and keep them clean and let my mw see them wen she was cuming 2 days later, wen my mw finally came they were infected and i the tear had teared even more even though i was resting. got antibiotics now and feeling a bit lost as my oh has to pretty much do everything from lifting to getting stuff as im in agony, at least i can still hold my little man and feed him etc.

sorry its late but here it is

so monday 1st august i was admitted to hospital for induction, at 11pm i was given a pessary called propess and was told it wud take anything from 12 hrs to 24hrs to work and was told to try and sleep, 5am i was woken up by mild contractions every 10 mins, they were getting stronger and stronger by 10am i was crying standing at a window (as it was sooooo hot) but being told i wasnt having them, at this point my oh was allowed back in and he wwent and had a word with sumone who came back with a ctg and they found i was actually having them every 3 mins and i was rushed up stairs to delivary suite.

i was settled in and given gas and air amd paracetamol (do they dish these out like sweets or sumthing) they checked to see if i was dilated and i was 3cm, i was told my waters were bulging and cud they break them, so i agreed and it was such a relief but my oh and mil sed they thort they were in a swimming pool paddling as there was alot, but it was all green so i had to have a dr cum check the baby heart monitir every so often as his heart rate was below 110 the whole time,

as the contractions got worse i was offered an epidual straight away evn though my bp was constantly above 170/100 but i was in pain. the guy who did it was lovely, the only thing was at first i cud still feel the contractions at the top of my left leg, it hadnt blocked that bit.

by 6 oclock i was screaming in agony as i cud feel every contraction and had 5 top ups of epidual but i was told if it wasnt working now it wasnt going to work at all, then all i remember is 3 drs rushing in and telling me i had to get on my side and have an internel to take sum blood from the babies head as he was in soo much distress, i started to panic as nothing was being explained to me and it took my oh a while to get me out of the panic attack but they carried on taking the blood from baby while he did,

we had to wait half an hr for the results to cum back and they sed 3 were normal and 3 were bad so they were taking any chances and they wanted him out sooner rather than later so they upped the synotocin drip (sp?) at this point i was told i was 8cm, but i felt the urge to push and was screaming at them i wanted to push, they kept saying no,

i begged them to check me agian and shaw enough i had gone from 8cm to 10cm in the space of 5mins, and i was told to push, i dont really remember much from the hour and a half i was actually pushing for except i was panicing alot as it hurt and i was getting very tired, my bp was still sky high and babies hb was very low,

i did make everyone laugh though as towards the end i must of bin high on the g and a as i told the dr who was looking after me that i would pay her to get him out and then shouted at my oh to get his wallet out lol, and all i was screaming was i wanna go home lol, and apprantly i didnt screamed when i had a contraction i mooed lol

after an hour and a half of pushing they told me his head was stuck, they cud see his hair and everything but he wasnt shiftinng and he was getting very distressed as was i, so the desision was made for forseps and epitosmy (sp?) both were not in my birth plan but i wanted him out now.

the forseps took literally 2 mins to get him out but i was badly cut and teared from it, but my little squeeker is well worth the pain, he was born at 8.55pm weighing 8lb 5oz, they sey the labout started at 12pm and it was 8 hrs 55 mins with me pushing for 1 hour and 35 mins

they put him on my chest but for 30 seconds as they wanted to give him some oxygen, and they contunied to work on me, i think i was given the injection for the placenta i cant remember but all remember was looking across the room at my oh crying holding jaycob which was the magical highlite of my life ever, my boys.

i stayed in hospital for 3 days as jaycob refused to feed or suckle at all, they sed he had swollowed too much meconuim and it was on his lungs, we are still having probs with his feeding now but he is getting better, but i think today he is having a growth spurt as he is feeding every 2 hrs insted of 3, and hes been awake for 5 hrs but he just lays there and stares bless him.

my stiches are painful though and i cant wait for them to heal as then i can do more with jaycob, my pnd licked in with a bang on day 2 but my mw assures me that due to the trauma and me being in so much pain i will bond with him and it does take time, at the min im just feeling like sumone is going to walk in the door thank me for baby sitting and go home, dont get me wrong i love himto pieces im just strugglering, i am ever so thankful for my oh he has shocked me at how hes just taken charge with everything.

sorry for the long post i will catch up with everyone soon, well done to all those who are bf i tryed but he just wouldnt suckle, those with sticthes i do feel ur pain, and britt im so sorry to hear about kinley she is gawgus.

the pics below are from the digital camera, most of the ones we got are on my oh's fone so i wil upload sum better ones wen i get a chance 2.
