Beach Bump Graduates!

Welcome back maria! Glad you had a fun holiday, hopefully you'll get to relax and recuperate now!

Hann, how did it go at the doctor, is the baby breech? Did you manage at monkey music?

I managed to grab a nap this afternoon so don't feel too bad now - just uncomfortable as i've eaten too much as usual!

hope everyone else is well, so quiet on here recently.
x

Hann, I'm so sorry to hear that your neighbor was so insensitive and told you that horror story. It seems like there's always those people who see a pregnant woman and want to tell them the worst stories to scare them!
Hope you had a good appointment!

Caz - that glass of wine sounds lovely!! I have a block of cheese that I can't stop eating, and oooh, I'd love a glass of wine. How funny, whenever I'm pregnant I crave alcohol the most. Probably because my body knows I'm not allowed to have it anymore and rebels!

Welcome back, Maria! Hope you had a great time!

Today was a bit disappointing - found out that my ultrasound to find out if baby is okay was moved to May 9th, exactly the day I turn 9 weeks. I know it's only a few days forever, but it feels like they moved it an eternity away! 18 more days now, that's over half a month! Seems like it'll never get here and it's nervewracking meanwhile.

SB -- Thinking of you & hoping you get peace of mind soon! :flower:

Hi everyone! Trying to read to catch up. There's a reason we're all disappearing after having babies with toddlers. :haha:

But thank goodness it looks like I got an easy baby this time! If I had 2 Maisies I'd probably be dead at this point. Violet is a dream child - as long as she has a boob in her mouth she's satisfied; Maisie would scream for HOURS AND HOURS nonstop at this age so I'm really relieved! I'm mainly exhausted from dealing with Maisie's insane terrible-two tantrums. She's getting along quite well with the baby, though. Very gentle and sweet which is really unlike her, lol!

Breastfeeding is also going amazingly well this time! :happydance: I haven't supplemented at all and Violet has gained 5oz in 4 days! She was attached to me almost nonstop (no exaggeration) for nearly 4 days straight but seems to be settling a bit the last couple of days. Still cluster fed for about 4 hours straight last night and I expect the same tonight (and like every night for the next 3 weeks  Really need to master nursing while lying on my side pronto!) Still really cautious about it since my supply was so low with Maisie. I freak out if I haven't seen pee or poo for a few hours (she owes me a couple more poos today! But she did have 4 monster ones right before we went to bed last night so I'm hoping that's why). :dohh:

Wow well done Julie! It sounds like you're getting on amazingly! And congrats on the feeding going so well, how awesome that she's gained all that weight. Hope you're getting lots of help from scott with maisie - sounds like you need it if you're spending hours feeding. Nice to hear from ya, i appreciate it as i have no idea how busy it must be with two LOs..... :)

SB, annoying re your appt being thrown back, i know how anxious you are for it. Hopefully the time will pass quickly xx

Right, off to bedfordshire... night night x

Wow Julie that's amazing that Violet is so good! Annabelle was like Maisie with the constant screaming so I really hope I'm as lucky as you are. It sounds like BF is going so well too! Try not to worry about supply, I know it as a problem last time but its different each time and sounds like she's taken to it really well! So happy for you!

SB - I'm so sorry about the ultrasound being moved, that's so rubbish when a you want is peace of mind. Can you pay to do it privately? I can be on the count down with you as my due date is may 9th so a similar wait - although I can imagine its going to be a harder wait for you so you have my sympathies. I'm keeping everything crossed for you this time, you really deserve to have good news.

Simmy - glad you are doing well - you haven't posted a bump pic in a while!

Well I've been up for the past almost 2 hours grrrr. Hate stupid insomnia! I did take Annabelle to monkey music and I did nearly cry in pain. It's the last class I'm taking her to alone though so no more sitting on the floor for me! My dad is coming tomorrow until thurs afternoon then my mum is coming sun - fri then it's bank hol weekend and then my parents come on the tues until I give birth. I have help yippee!! I'll still go to all her classes but mum and dad will do the active stuff and I'll sit on a chair and watch from there.
Good news is that the baby turned again this afternoon - it's getting painful when it does! Had osteopath again and my backs all strapped up again. Should hold out for a few days. Probably not paying to go back though as I get the physio free on bupa and the osteopath sessions are £55 a time which we really shouldn't pay as we have private health insurance!
The physio will have to do!
I'm hosting our Nct gathering in the morning tomorrow so that will be nice, although having a panic about the state of the house as ever!! Then my dad arrives pm and I also have a friend here for a play date. It's meant to be 20 degrees here though so I'm hoping we can be outside for much of the day.
Right lets hope I can finally go back to sleep!!!

Sorry ive been AWOL, things just so hectic, been reading along though.

Julie, so glad everything going well especially the BF, I know how badly you wanted it to go well this time. Violet is so gorgeous too!

Hann, so glad you are getting some help now, i reiterate i still think you are wonderwoman the way you have coped with everything! Hope the NCT meetup goes well!

SB, boo to the U/S being moved, must be so frustrating for you. good that you are getting all the prego signs though to reassure you.

Maria welcome home, glad you had a ,lovely holiday!

Simmy, you havent mentioned the sickness lately has it gone away? i hope so and yyou get to enjoy the last part of pregnancy, if thats possible lol

Caz, hows the house coming along?

Well afm, julie is right, its so much harder to find the time to type with two as some of you will soon find out lol!
Alan has been great though, last night i got a night off and had a full night sleep whilst him and Lucas slept in the spare room.
My sciatica still there, i did manage to go swimming last night for the first time but i could hardly walk when i got out the pool and was in tears when i got home due to the pain. it doesnt feel as bad today though.
Other than the children not a lot happening, every trip out is a mission lol
Its Alans birthday on sun so we are going out with some friends for a meal and a couple of drinks sat night, im so excited cant remember last time i had a night like that, mum is coming over to watch the children for a few hours. ive also got my day cupcake course on sat too.

Hann yay for your dad arriving soon and having some help now! Glad your parents came through for you. What's your dad like, is he good with A? My dad is really good with Leo but unforch has a 5 minute patience threshold and after 5 mins playing will wander off and do something else! lol.

Mel, well done on the weight loss so far, make sure you take it easy with the exercise, the swimming sounds painful! Goodness i'm really getting scared now for having two children, i am scared to not have the time to do anything! Also am glad you're getting some time off at the weekend, your mum is fabulous to look after them both.

Thanks for asking re the sickness, it's ok thanks - I still get good days and bad days - today I felt nauseous for much of the day, and threw up a little bit, but yesterday only for a couple of hours, the day before not at all. I just hate how unpredictable it is!

Hann i will take a bump pic the next time i don't look rough (and who's to know when that'll be hahaha).

So our nanny called me today and handed in her notice (of 2 weeks), which really pissed me off because she pestered us for ages to tell her what would happen when i went on maternity leave, and we felt pressured to make the decision to get rid of her, but we specifically said we wanted her to work until June but now she's gone and found another job starting in 2 weeks time so she's really left us in the lurch as I don't finish work until the end of May.

Anyway, I discussed with Paul and as you know she's been getting on my nerves lately anyway with all her sick days, so we decided it was for the best. I rang Leo's nursery and asked if they have availability Weds and Thurs mornings, and luckily they do, so i'll just put him in there until I've had the baby. Morning sessions only will be fine, as he'll come home at 1pm and go straight down for his nap, so i'll only have to watch him for a couple of hours. And if I need to go into the office those days i'll have to call on my mum, but it's only a matter of about 6 weeks anyway!

Sorry for the rant, i just seem to be having loads of probs with childcare at the moment!

Welcome back Maria :) Did you have a fabulous time?

Julie - so glad Vi is being a good baby and well behaved for you. And that BF'ing is going well - you sound like it's all going so smoothly!

Simmy - maybe your nanny leaving sooner rather than later is a good thing? She sounded unreliable and at least the nursery has space so that hopefully will work really well for you.

Han - how was your day? So glad you have some cover for the next few weeks.

AFM - Neel and I had a row when I got home which wasn't nice as he keeps saying 'when we move in with my parents' about when the builders come into the house but we agreed that we wouldn't move in (as it drives me insane) but we would stay there occassionally and when it's awfyul at home. I know in reality we'll move in there but I want the flexibility. So we had a row and apparently I don't appreciate them etc etc - but I reminded him that I'm the one that calls them, offers to pop round for them to see Ajay, makes the effort and he is their son! Grrrrrr.....

But in good news, I'm off work tomorrow so yay! Can't wait to go to our toddler group with our friends and then seeing an NCT friend and her son in the pm so great fun as always. x

Morning! 38 weeks for me today! Only 2-3 to go mind you I'm not overly excited as I'm sure nothing's happening yet, baby isn't engaged and I'm sure I'm not dilated yet so I actually wouldn't be surprised if it was more than 3 weeks even!

Caz - did you sort things out with Neel? It would bug me too those kind of comments! Hope you had a lovely day with Ajay yesterday, I feel like weds come round fast but I guess you don't!

Simmy - so annoying about the nanny, she sounds unrealiable though so maybe a good thing to get rid now even if its disruptive. Is Leo going to nursery when you have the baby?

Mel - how's your pain now? Take it easy - you don't want to end up with longer term issues. Swimming breaststroke isn't great for sciatica apparently but back and front crawl are. How's Lucas? Is H behaving a bit better now?

I'm glad my dad is here, my backs been so painful and its been hard keeping up with Annabelle - she can actually walk faster than me now lol!
We've been in the garden a lot the past couple of days which has been good but she always wants playing with so wants me to sit at the sand and water table on the floor, apparently me sitting on a chair next to her isn't sufficient. Thankfully my dad has been able to do the sitting on the floor part.
She's also getting tired by the end of the day and thinks its funny to throw her toys everywhere! It's really frustrating. I try and distract her to stop but often she just laughs at me thinking its a game and I end up taking the toy away. I think it's end of the day hyperactivity. Even dad said that he can't believe how she never has down time unless she's asleep, she just keeps going all day long like a Duracell bunny. Makes me a tad nervous about how she'll be when the baby is born as she really is very full on compared to some of my friends children of a similar age!

Football this morning then I guess more garden play this afternoon. Dad leaves tomorrow morning so I'll have most of tomorrow alone with her and the weathers not going to be as good so will have to think of what I'll do with her that doesn't kill me!! Happy days ;)

Hi, thanks for asking about the holiday, it was great, very busy but we all loved it. I couldn't have done more than 5 days though!

Hann, Michele had the same thing with ember, she's constantly on the go, the Duracell bunny thing is an actual thing, I remember Michele posting an article about it ages ago. Naomi seems to be quite a busy girl too, it's very tiring! As good that your dad is there with you, hopefully you will be able to rest your back a bit now.

How annoying about the nanny Simmy! That was lucky that nursery have space, 2 weeks seems such short notice to sort childcare out.

I hope you have a lovely day today Caz! That sucks about your argument with Neel, will it be for a long time if you do have to move in?

I hope your sciatica gets better Mel, that sounds awful :( hopefully you will have a nice day on Sunday! Is Alan looking forward to his birthday?

That's a kicker about the scan being moved SB! :( I'm sure everything will be fine, it just seems like such a long wait! I used to look forward to my scans so much!

It sounds like you're getting on great Julie! Glad the feeding's going better for you this time, I was worried about it with Naomi and it worked out fine thankfully. How is Maisie taking to being a big sister?

Well I'm just pottering around the house this morning getting a few bits done then Naomi and I are off to the park this afternoon with some friends to enjoy the sunshine! I hope everyone's having a lovely day :)

Hope you had a lovely sunny afternoon Maria! It's been a glorious day.

Hann glad your dad has been able to help, that must have been awesome. At least you only have 1 day to get through on your own before the weekend. Yes I'm going to keep Leo in nursery at least 2 days per week when the baby is here, I think it'll be good for him to get out of the house and play with peers and get different stimulations, plus it'll give me some time with the baby :)

Caz, sorry for your argument with Neel, it sucks you may have to end up staying with his parents. Are things ok with him now?

AFM just on my way back from the office, had to go in for a meeting today but I'm really struggling with the tube journey - person next to me has been eating garlic which is my sick trigger :(

Caz - so sorry to hear that, the idea of living with inlaws again makes me almost physically ill to think of! I hope that you don't have to move in with them!

Hann - that's great that your dad is there to help. I have no idea how I'm going to handle Katie when I'm in my third tri - she already runs faster than me and while being sick, it's so hard to catch her! Can't imagine having a big belly with a baby kicking me to add to the chase!

AFM, I'm blessed today with my big hardship being a terrible craving for cheesesteak subs. I just got a menu in the mail today that says free delivery from my favorite place, as if I wasn't tempted enough already! We really can't afford to eat out, but oh my gosh, I'm dying here! I can not get my mind off of it. DH just left for work and I'm ready to scrounge the house for a few dollars to see what I can put together! This is my first major craving of this pregnancy where its really, really hard to ignore!

I'd have it too SB!

Aarrgggg I just got home and Paul's had a garlicky curry for lunch! I'm so annoyed as he knows it's my sick trigger. I might as well get back on the tube!

Go for it SB!

Hann, glad your dad has been such a help and its nearly the weekend! i hope Greg is around to help this weekend then your mum is coming. Really not long now cant wait to find out what you are having!

Simmy, boo to tube journey and the garlic breath! That was always one of my triggers too :( I think it will be good to keep Leo in nursery. H will be starting playschool in sept for the same reasons.

Caz, hope everything is sorted with Neel now, Neel must realise how much you wouldnt want to stay with his parents, i wouldnt either!

Maria glad you had a lovely holiday and hope you had a nice afternoon, we have had lovely weather too, ive actually got sunburn on my arm!

So we had Lucas weighed this morning, hes now 9lb 6!! so hes gone from 5lb 14 to 9lb 6 in 5 weeks, we actually cant believe it but hes getting really chubby now. the health visiter said today that it doesnt appear he was destined to be a small baby its purely the fact he was a bit early that he was smaller, but hes catching up well!
We have had a lovely day, went to a local farm with our friends, then had lunch there before coming home and playing in the garden.
Ive also just been out on a 40 min cycle ride, my sciatica still there but when im on my bike i dont really feel it, so i cant walk properly but i can cycle! bizarre! it makes me feel like im doing something, although im desperate to start running as i want to do the race for life in july.
Been selling the rest of my maternity stuff on ebay, some of its going for silly money, can you believe a 2nd hand maternity swimsuit that i paid £10 for new, someone has paid £11.55 for! madness!

Wow Lucas is doing well! What percentile jump is that? You often hear that about babies born early though. Sounds like a good day too. I'm amazed you can cycle, mine is ridiculous now, but then again I can't do the manipulations to make it better so its bound to be horrific.

SB - hope you got the money together to get the food. I'm really keeping my fingers crossed for you that everything is okay for your little one.

Simmy - well done for going to london, its such a hassle after all! Yuck to the garlic, I also couldn't stomach that either. I'm also not good on smelly fish or eggs either.
Get me that bump pic soon!!

Maria - so glad the holiday was great! Thats also interesting about the duracell bunny thing. She really is though!!

Nice day here, dad has been great. We went to football this morning and I only had to do a little bit as dad did most of it. I also managed to hobble around a garden centre this afternoon, although had a funny turn and had to sit and have a cold orange juice as I felt sick and faint. Been trying to get the baby lower and in position. I'm getting a tad worried because everyone on the May bnb group and my due date faceboom group are all 'full of symptoms' and everyone is dilating, getting booked in for c sections, getting signs of early labour and I have absolutely nothing! I think this baby is way too comfy and isn't looking to come out any time soon. I know I'm only at 38 weeks so its not exactly a panic scenario yet but I am a bit worried that it might go massively over. Not that I can do anything about it but I'm in quite considerable pain so I was hoping it might be on time.
Dad goes back tomorrow so just me and Annabelle for the day which will be tiring. Mum then comes on Sunday for the week which is good.
Right better go to bed. Gregs got his last night out before the baby is due so I expect he'll be late - although more like midnight than 8am :)

Funny thing just happened, so as you know we haven't told our family the baby names as we didn't want their opinions. Just been watching the bbc news and there was a boy called Henry on it (I.e. our chosen boys name) and my dad turns to me and pulls a face and says 'Henry?! Henry?! Who calls their child Henry these days?!' So I laughed a bit and said that I really liked the name, he must have then realised that he had put his foot in it and quickly back tracked saying that he really liked the name too it's just not one you tend to hear these days. Lol!
So that's one person who we now know won't be a big fan of our boys name!! And that's why we keep the names a surprise lol

LOL! That's funny, Hann. I have a 9 year old brother named Henry, I always liked the name! It's classic, you can't go wrong with it!

Mel, glad Lucas is doing well! He's such a cutie!

AFM, I was going so crazy about a cheesesteak that I called my parents in for help. I said it was a craving emergency! LOL. My dad picked one up for me on his way home from work, so I'm now chowing down happily. Only problem is, Katie has decided that she also loves Cheesesteak and is also eating quite a bit of it! Mommy didn't want to share! But she keeps saying "mmmmmm!" with every bite, so who can resist? She's lucky she's so darn cute!

Thanks SB - I agree I think it's a classic name too! So funny though that it even happened, I mean what were the odds of that happening!!

So glad your dad came to the craving rescue. I know what you mean about begging toddlers - Annabelle will want anything I'm eating - even if she doesn't like it she'll take it and lick it then hand it back. Lovely! :)
