Beach Bump Graduates!

sorry one sided post.
not coping. all cameron does is cry and feed. can't seem to do anything right. don't know what to do.

:hugs: Fi.
Do you think it could be a growth spurt? Naomi was the same the other day and my goodness was it draining!!
You're doing brilliantly, it's not that you can't do anything right, he's probably just upping your supply. Stick at it, it won't last long :hugs: I hope you can get some rest soon xxxxx

Argh how annoying about last nigh Hann, I hope Annabelle settles back soon.

Have a good day registering Leo Simmy!

Hope all mummies and babies are well :)

Not much news this end, N has her jabs today, hopefully she'll be ok and will forget all about them quickly lol!
x

very quick post as Logan is asleep and I am quickly catching up whilst having some lunch!

DM - can't believe how incompetent your GP was giving you that pill. Just as well you are on the ball.

Thanks also for the pic from Britt. Kinley is absolutely gorgeous. Please pass on our best wishes to them all.

hann - sorry the routine didn't work out. I am just letting Logan find his own way. At the moment he seems to enjoy a sleep from 11/12ish until 2/3pmish which is good but I know that this will probably just be a passing phase.

Fiona - sorry honey you are feeling this way. Could you speak to your GP, HV or even phone Cry sis https://www.cry-sis.org.uk/ :hugs:

Fi - i hope he has calmed down a bit? Do you think he is over tired? I've just had a couple of hours trying to get Annabelle to sleep because she missed her nap as MIL was here and she was majorly cranky. I finally got her down about 30 minutes ago. I am hoping she stays asleep for a while because that was exhausting! Doods is right that it could also be a growth spurt as if I remember correctly he is at his 6 week point. Is he just constantly feeding? I heard that if they cry intermittantly then its a feeding cry but if they cry constantly getting louder they are tired. I have been testing the theory and it seems to be the case for Annabelle.

Doods - hope the jabs go well - hugs to Naomi!

Curlew - hope Logan is doing well :)

Oh and you know we were talking about AF - turns out I was right and did ovulate because mine started yesterday! I was at the dr for my 6 week check and she said that it can start really early for some BF ladies, just the bodies way of saying its recovered and is ready to go again!! I still have my wound so can't DTD anyway - not that I'm ready for no 2!
I read that it can come when the BF supply diminishes but mine hasn't and the dr said I shouldn't be worried so hopefully all is fine!

It would be great if I could get him to nap but the only way I can get him to sleep during the day is to go out and carry him in the sling, which just isn't possible every day. I was at tesco optician today and ended up meandering through the shop for an hour just so he would stay asleep.
every morning this week he has woken, fed, then we go for a shower, feeds again, then starts screaming for the next 2 hrs almost constantly. He's getting infacol every feed. I try to put him down after second feed as he falls asleep but as soon as I put him down he wakes screaming. He's sleeping at night in his moses basket fine now but I just can't get him down during the day.
You're right that it's prob a growth spurt but the sleep prob has been ongoing.
We both still have thrush, I saw gp yesterday and cam has new treatment as I think the thrush might be upsetting hom.
It's just so frustrating not knowing what's wrong with him half the time and not being able to help him. I've never had probs like this looking after other people's children.

PS my af still hasn't started so not sure what the spotting was all about.

I'm sorry fi it sounds like maybe he has wind issues and so when he tries to sleep he maybe wakes himself up when he feels the pain. Dovyou get big burps out of him after he feeds? Try feeding him almost upright too. I reckon he is really tired too. Annabelle woke up after only a 40 min nap and is now comfort sucking on me. I know if I move her she will scream. It's hard though as I would love a nap. Feeling tired today!
Try the extra burping and see if that helps. Has he always been like this or just the past couple of days?

He rarely gives up wind, I can sit and burp him for ages in a variety of positions and get nothing out of him (doesn't help that he's often fallen asleep when at the boob). He farts like anything but obviously it takes ages for it to go down the way and hurts him along the way.
Annabelle doesn't take a dummy does she? I never thought I would give my baby one but it can settle him at times.

That's a tricky one if he doesn't wind well. I hope he settles soon, sorry I haven't been too helpful!
No annabelle won't take the dummy - I try every day though just in case! It really angers her more often than not. She is really grouchy today. I'm just letting her comfort suck!!

It's one benefit of the difficult start we had with bf'ing. He still takes a bottle fine, loves his dummy but he won't bf without nipple shield (I keep trying, occasionally manage)
you have helped, just listening is a help. I don't feel there are many people I can say all this to.

Fi, you are not alone, we all have these moments! have you tried some thing different for his wind like gripe water or dentinox? have you tried letting him nap on his tummy?

Fi I am now joining you in despair! After annabelles short lived nap she fed for 2 hours then fell asleep on me so I put her in her basket where shf lasted long enough for me to settle myself for a sleep (5mins) and is now screaming again! And Greg is out tonight! Think it must be a growth spurt but it's exhausting and doesn't make you feel like you can cope! I'm feeling like a failure now because I can't settle her :(

Now I feel really bad, I got her up and she threw up everyWhere then her tummy gurgled and she did a big poo. I'm now cuddling again and trying the dummy again...

Fi :hugs: ....... I can't offer much more advice than the others, but just to say that youre not alone, we all have phases like this and they are really difficult and totally suck. Really sounds like you're doing a great job as a mummy and i hope things improve soon.

I am not looking forward to Leo's 6th week next week - will probably be here posting my woes!

Sorry been awol lately been manic couple of days, fifi and hann sorry to hear you are having a rough time of it big hugs to you both, will catch up properly later xx

tried dentinox then switched to infacol as it wasn't doing anything. Been doing some reading and starting to think it might be silent reflux. He's currently sleeping on me.
Sorry you've had a tough afternoon, hope annabelle feels better x

J has silent reflux, and its hard so i really do sympathise. he is now on gaviscon in every feed and does all sleeps on his tummy which isnt ideal but we all have to sleep and he just cant tolerate being on his back. It can be quite hard to get it diagnosed by your doctor so make sure you stick to your guns if you believe thats what it is. mothers instinct knows when something isnt right in my experience.
hope you find something to help him (and you) x

Hi ladies, just a quick post.

Fi so sorry you are having a bad day. Big hugs to you. Have you got any help locally?

Hope everyone is ok. Will try and catch up later!

x

Fi and Hann if Its any consolation Logan is having a day like Annabelle and Cam. He has only slept for about 30 minutes today and has been completely whingy the rest of the time wanting to comfort suck.

Am off to try a bath to see if that soothes him and tires him out!!!
