Breastfeeding Support - 6 months and beyond!

Yeah you ladies seem to use a 24 hour clock. At least I've seen it quite a few times being used on here. And I would just use PM and AM. :haha:

Oh right, should have known it was 24 hour clock. I use a.m. and p.m. but I guess the 24 hour clock is quite common too.

:haha: I'd say 6 April @ 4pm. I don't like 24 hour clock either...seems too serious to me.

i tend to use am and pm but my OH being a former Navy cadet and a geek means he uses a 24 hr clock lol

the 24hr clock confuses me lol

The way I learned is you take the last number of the time, say 14:00, you take the 4, subtract 2, and you're left with the time:

14:00-2= 2pm

19:00-2 = 7pm

with the times that end in 0, you imagine the 0 is a 10...
20:00-2 = 8pm

living in a predominantly naval city (portsmouth), I pick up on the 24 hours clock, coz it's just what everyone else uses here. when i go back home (norfolk) they look at me like I'm speaking a foreign language, hehe!

Thats funny how I would say April 6th, but you would say 6th April. I get so confused when the day is put before the month, like 25-12-11 instead of 12-25-11. I have to take a moment to translate the dates if they're written "backwards". With military time, I almost have to pull out a calculator :haha:

You know whats funny is the area I lived in Virginia was a bunch of cities attached. Well it was Portsmouth, Norfolk, Suffolk, Chesapeake, Hampton(Is there a hampton there?), and Yorktown(I think it's called York there though). So OBVIOUSLY whoever discovered and named that area was from the UK. :haha:

lol, Cleckner, that's funny! Portsmouth is in Hampshire, right on the south coast of England (where i live now) & Norfolk is the bubble bit on the east side of England, which is where i grew up. Suffolk is the county below Norfolk. I'm guessing the discoverers were from around the same areas!

arrrgh my milk supply is dropping, ive been so nauseous ive not been eating alot and im not taking on huge amounts of fluid caus going to the toilet means im running upstairs and leaving the boys alone while i go and if i do hold any fluid in my bladder its triggering spotting/bleeding atm so im in a catch 22, EJ isnt complaining yet but i know my supply is going and my boobs are dissapearing eeek

Cleckner, where do you get the BF milestone blinkies from again...my computer died and we had to set to factory settings, and the link was saved to favourites :(

Happy milestone day!! x

Lynn, I'm wondering if my supply is being affected as well. Alyssa has been clamouring for "mummy milk" much more than usual, and is very unsettled when going to bed at night. The past few nights she's also woken more than usual asking for milk

Aww ladies. I don't know what to say about milk supply dipping cause unfortunately I haven't been able to get pregnant yet. :haha: But I suggest oatmeal if you can get it down! I'm not sure if fenugreek is okay during pregnancy but I know oatmeal should do the trick. :flower:

I know if I get pregnant when DH gets back I will just be happy to get to 2 years of Emma feeding. I feel like I'll accomplish everything I ever wanted if that happens. So if she wants to quit after that I hope that I can be happy and not disappointed IYKWIM. Hopefully you girls can continue to feed if that's what you want! :flower:

Thanks Sam :hugs: I think a big bowl of oatmeal for breakfast is called for  Silly me had forgotten about it! :dohh:

I know - I'm so proud to have nursed Alyssa as long as I have; I hope that she self-weans during the pregnancy, as I don't know if I am cut out for tandem nursing. If it's what Alyssa wants though, it's what we'll do!

x

awww i hope you're able to find something to help with the milk suppliy issues
