Breastfeeding Support - 6 months and beyond!

:hugs: Nimbus. You did a fabulous job getting to 14 months!

Congrats LolaAnn :happydance:

my lo has finally given himself a bedtime instead of being wide awake untill 11pm he now goes to bed at 8! i fed him to sleep, dreamfeed him at 11, he wakes for a feed 5ish and then wakes up at 8! i feel so much better for some more sleep :D
i go back to work in 6 weeks for 3 long days a week im so worried as my lo wont take a bottle or sippy cup :(

well done Miles, we are doing ok , some days EJ is wanting more feeds and his feeds have gotten longer he is drinking lots of other fluid in the day too as well. just cut tooth 7 and working on 8,9,10& 11 ( his molars ) which is no fun

so im totally not pg :S sigh. I think I'm gonna have to give up his morning feed too.. I keep saying to myself one more day.. one more day...

:hugs: Lola. Why are you thinking about giving up the morning feed?

I'm trying to somewhat wean Emma down to 3 feeds a day. She's been using me more lately and I'd really prefer to keep it to mornings, nap, and bedtime feeds but she is SUCH a booby monster still. It's really hard to tell her no too because she throws a fit. :(

That's what we've gone down to...he does ask for it in the day, but I have a rule that he has to wait at least 6 hours between morning booby and naptime booby. But he is such a booby monster too! He loves it!

Thomas has gone back to asking for milk during the day too. But I only feed him mornings and bedtime and distract him or offer him cow's milk the rest of the time (which he sometimes drinks and sometimes doesn't). He never asks for milk going for his nap, just at random times during the day sometimes - but he is pretty easily distracted.

It's amazing that a month or so ago I was so upset that I was sure he was weaning because he hadn't had a feed in three days! And even before that he had been on only bedtime feeds for months - now he's back to loving his booby and I'm the one who is wanting to limit it! He is definitely back to two feeds a day and would probably have more.

I really wish Emma was more easily distracted. She seems to get interested in something and than she won't lose her focus from it IYKWIM. Like if she wants "boo boo" she won't let it go. That's all she wants and that's all she cares about in that moment. And handing her a glass of cow's milk would just piss her off more.

haha...I was carrying Ollie to the car (it's a 2 min walk from my house) and I had hands full of bags and baby and he needed a sleep, so I made him a bottle of cows milk, as we were walking up, I held the bottle in my teeth, and he was shouting "BEES, BEES, MUMMY...BEES!" Bless him, it made me giggle!

Cleckner, Harry is totally like that too- if he wants 'boobeeeeeee' then his mind is made up & i can only put him off for so long before he gets peeved at me & starts grabbing, squeezing, pulling, poking, fake crying etc... it's just easier to let him have it when he's like that. Generally we're down to morning, pre afternoon nap & pre bedtime, but there are days when he will be on & off all day long... He just cut his first canine (no sign of the other 3 yet though) and spent 2 hours straight laying on me attached to my boob & started crying everytime i moved. That was annoying, lol. Then fed about another 8 times over the course of the day, but did take a 3 hour nap, so it was a welcome break for me, haha!n The last couple of days he's been on 3/4 a day again as usual. Somtimes I think i could probably cut the morning boob out as he's more interested in cbeebies & breakfast anyway, but then i kinda like laying in bed, chilling while he's latched on coz it gives me time to wake up slowly & start the day rather than ping awake & off we go, iyswim?

Lola, did you get your AF then? Everytime it comes to my AF due date I keep my finger's crossed that it doesnt come.... but then it does & it's like, damn there's another month with no bubs! But at the same time, it's ok coz I so have no money right now & feel guilty living off my hubby all the time! :dohh:

I can distract Kira a little bit, but her memory is too good and she'll eventually get her booby. It's funny because she'll say "boo boo boo" and then point to the couch where I usually sit when I bf her. Today I wanted to watch DH unpack some boxes in the foyer so I sat on the floor to feed her, and she got so upset :haha:

On a normal day (not a sick or teething day), Kira will get lots of morning boobies as we slowly wake up. Then she'll want a booby as I'm trying to eat breakfast and most of the time I can distract her from that one. If I stay away from the couch (which is the booby spot), sometimes we can make it all the way to lunch. She'll usually ask for one after lunch. Then she'll get another one around 1pm for nap time, and another when she wakes from her nap. If we stay active she won't ask for another until I'm trying to make dinner, and then after dinner. If DH is around, he can distract her from the making dinner booby. Then she gets another one after my bath (because she misses me)... and another one after her bath, and one before bed. There are also some middle of the night ones that I'm unconscious for :haha: She's certainly a booby hog and thats with me trying to distract her from them. I have no idea when she'll slow down, but believe it or not, she is getting less booby than she was 6 months ago.

spidey- Kira sounds so similar to Emma. It seems constant some days. I do think it may get a bit better once DH is back because he can take over and distract her for a bit in the evenings.

Emma also does the feeding a lot in the morning before we get out of bed. I am usually switching boobs like crazy trying to get her to sleep more so I can sleep more. But she does sleep through the night without booby now most nights. *knocks on wood* I'm SO not a morning person though so she has to really whine to get me out of bed sometimes. She has even started yanking my eyelids up some mornings when I refuse to get up.:rofl: She's so mean.

hi everybody  do you mind if i join you? We're about to hit the 8 month mark at the end of this month :happydance: I may have a few questions in the near future as Charlie hasn't dropped any feeds as yet despite being on 3 meals a day (not that i want him to) and i may have to go back to work as soon as 5 weeks x
