Breastfeeding Support - 6 months and beyond!

nope. Ate well today also usually dosnt. Is wingy this past few days thats whats worrying me and we thought it was teething. Will call docs in the morning. He keeps sticking his hand down his throat so I wonder has he a sore throat?I hate this worrying!

Sophia comes out in spots when she is teething! I woudl try not to worry as long as his temp is normal, keep an eye on him and as you say take him to teh docs to set your mind at rest if you are still worried. :hugs:

he is away to sleep now. I hope this clears tomorrow either way I still want him to see doc just to feel a bit better. I dread things like measles and the rest coming! I know I was a very ill child but this is one of the reasons he still is breastfed as I see he isnt at all like we where when we where young. I dont want to be a mum standing worrying in hospitals and bed sides :(

measles does come with a sore throat hun and unfortunatly then heat rashes tend to be all over rather than just random spots, of course there are a few other things that come with rashes and sore throats but measles does spring to mind and its better that they get it young than when older anyway

but if theres not a tempeture its probably just one of those things, hope he sleeps ok for you hun :hugs:

dragonfly, hope the spots clear up soon & that it's nothing sinister for william. I loved the clip of him though- total cutie!

Shiv, poor Sophia! Hope her lip heals up quickly & it doesn't keep interferring with her nursing/feeding.

Poor babies at the moment- lots of accidents & illnesses going around the moment across the boards :(

We're okay here. Just planning Harry's 1st birthday for wednesday & the usual day to day crap, lol. He also cut his 5th tooth today so I'm hoping he'll go back to his usual feeding & sleeping pattern in speedy time coz I for one am knackered! I need some sleep & 'me' time again, hehe.

How's everyone else doing? Congrats to any of who've reached/passed BFing milestones recently of any birthdays :hugs:

Awwww, poor babies! :hugs:

Sorry I've been MIA lately; my parents are here :) Been here since last Sunday, and will be here almost another week. It's been so much fun having them here; Alyssa is loving it.

x

Still no breastfeeding here, she doesn't cry anymore when she tries but she just doesn't latch on then puts her arms up for Daddy to take her away

Apart from some fruit at breakfast she hasn't eaten today, and now she is up in her cot crying after taking a couple of ounces of milk from a cup

bad day

Dragonfly - how is William today?

William seems ok, I see spots but not as bad as they where,. he has the runs still which I think my milk is turning and causing that as i read that can happen near the end of pregnancy. He is eating well and was out and all. I have more braxton hicks to. Need slippers for hospital bag and thats me then have all I think i need.

:hugs::hugs: Aww Shiv poor you & Sophia. I hope tomorrow is a better day for you both. :flower: Sorry, I can't think of anything to suggest to make it all better. It is surprising how quickly they heal. K was born by an emergency section and when the surgeon cut me the scalpel went right through and cut K's cheek too. We were all amazed at how quickly it healed up and now he has a scar of course but its fading all the time.

Florabean - what you got planned for Harry's birthday?

Dragonfly - glad to hear William's spots are going.

 That's horrifying!! I'm glad he's okay. :hugs: That sounds like grounds for suing honestly.

:hugs: to Shiv and Dragonfly :hugs: :( Poor Sophia... hope she feels better soon and things go back the way they were hun!
William feeling better? I know what you mean about the worry... I do over the silliest things, let alone if something might be wrong!

he still has runs but he really does seem ok dosnt seem ill at all i think its my milk changing. 34 weeks today!

he brought his gran to tears when Darren asked him to get the crutches in her house, he was super helpful and polite about it. I dont know why she cried maybe she thought it was way to cute.

Probably so proud of the handsome little man! :) Glad he is feeling better and I hope his runs end soon... I know I sure don't like them! lol

well i am glad they are as my mum cant see it and wont even give him the time of day any more. My parents have no time for him at all, never viist him, call to me for a few minutes mum ignores me and william and sits in car. I get the blame for that as I wont have her in I dont fancy going mental at her bad manners and insulting of William. Dreading birth of number 2 she will ignore me then and I know there will been a fight. Oh why cant she for once be a nice mum! one who pretends to care even would be nice. She could say nice things to even though thats never happened but it would be nice. But she dont drag me down any more since her mouth is sealed , so peaceful now.

Stuffing my face here being kicked and punched by baby in me. Another active one! and I think this one is more active even if its smaller than william.

my second is definatly more active than my first lol EJ doesnt stop moving day or night

Yeah - although it was an emergency section they still had time for me to sign the paperwork which covers them for everything! In fairness to the surgeon he was very very apologetic and did seem to be genuine about it. At the time I was just soo relieved that K was ok other than the cut though. A few days after it when I was looking at K it dawned on me how close it was to his eye - it could of been much worse!! A few of the MWs said that they had seen it before but its usually bum cheeks that get it when the baby has been breach. I've never known it to happen to anyone else.

Still no BFing here, Sophia's mouth doesn't appear to be hurting her anymore, but she just isn't interested. She kinda latched on and gave a couple of sucks, then looked at me as if to say "what's this all about then?", then she bit me (on purpose) and laughed.

Do any of you know if babies of her age (14 months) NEED milk, as in should she be having cows milk if she won't take breast milk (she wouldn't even take EBM from a cup before bed). She has never had cows milk as a drink and is not keen on starting now, do I need to push it or can she do without?

Shiv - glad to hear that Sophia's mouth seems to be improving. Sad that she is not interested in B'fing. I'm not sure if they NEED cows milk? Might be worth a phone call or visit to your HV if they are any good. I guess if Sophia is getting calcium, iron etc. from other sources in her diet then it shouldn't be a problem.

My DH has just recently started offering Kaiden a cup of cows milk in the morning with his breakfast which he is starting to enjoy now apparently! Little traitor :haha: It took a few offerings though.

Shiv- :hugs::hugs: I truly hope this isn't it for you guys. I'm not sure about cow's milk but I think as long as she is getting her dairy from other sources, it wouldn't matter about the milk. I'm no doctor though. Might be worth a trip or phone call to the doctor to find out though!

Dragonfly- :hugs: Such a shame about your mom... :( maybe someday she will turn around and realize what she is missing out on? I hope so... I don't know what I would do without my mom...

I can't wait to find out what your new little one will be :) He/She will be so cute, just look at big brother :D just a few more weeks!! :D

Shiv- :hugs: I hope Sophia decides real soon that boobie is better... I'm not sure about the milk either... I know they need whole milk because of the fat they need etc... so yeah, I would call your doctor and see what they think :) :hugs: again... I hope things get better :)
