Breastfeeding Support - 6 months and beyond!

i think EJ is wanting to drop a feed hes wanting his mid morning feed less and less lol and he didnt wake at 11ish last night for a feed either it was nearly 4 when he woke

lynnikins - Kaiden went through a phase of dropping feeds at around 7/8 months (I think). I thought he was self weaning but after a few weeks they picked up again. I think he was just too busy exploring. Lately I've been feeling like he is feeding ALL the time. As soon as I get home from work he latches on and then he is on & off until bed time and then up more during the night. He doesn't eat all his dinner either but 10 mins after he is at me wanting a BF. I'm going to take him back to HV next week and get him weighed.

Kira does the cutest thing when she wants a booby now. She'll tug gently on my shirt and look at me and whisper "boo". How can I say no! Her feeds seem to be getting shorter and shorter and sometimes she's only on there for a second.

One of my breasts is still like a big boulder even though I fed through it in pain. lashing the cream on non stop. Cam see theres blood and all at nipple. Been here before but will not give up. William throws a tantrum though for his , thats nasty.

Oh no, that doesn't sound like fun! Hope the engorgement and pain eases really soon. Poor William, it must be a big adjustment for him really so I think a few tantrums are probably only to be expected while he gets used to the new situation.

I just say, "yes, I am still BF, I plan to for as long as he wants to" People are usually so shocked by my abruptness, they just reply with "oh..."

Kayleigh seems to want cows milk over booby now I feel bad as she loves her morning feed, and evening feeds still but during the day sometimes she doesn't even want it, but will take the cows milk no problem. I seriously don't think she would care if I weaned her tomorrow This past week she has been into more solids and tonight had an arrowroot cookie and loved it! I usually give her MumMums but there aren't any around here!

Minikat- I always just say I plan on feeding her to 2 years minimum. It usually shuts people up and gives them a confused look.

mum2j&k- Quit offering cows milk than!! Don't forget they sometimes drop feeds for a while only to start adding them back on after a few weeks. Don't fret hun.



So I started a breastfeeding weightloss thread if anyone wants to join in. It's in the dieting section. I plan on being serious about it this time around. Started working out again yesterday and today we had our little accident(in my journal for anyone who is curious) so I didn't work out much but will be back at it tomorrow! Come on skinny Cleckner!!

lol Cleckner! She likes it too much, I feel guilty not to give it to her. I will try and settle her with booby and she will squirm, cry etc.. and fight with me but take the bottle and pass out! I know I'm not helping by giving her one but makes me feel worse by not letting her have one lol...

I need to stick to something too, I want the weight off before summer... and I mean all of it!! Oh I will find the WW food list for you if you want it still. I will talk to Mom tomorrow Remind me though hehe

Maybe ditch the bottle, if she wants cow's milk she can have it in a cup or a sippy. I wouldn't worry though, I am only feeding Thomas morning and night now for a couple of months and he's showing no signs of wanting to drop either feed.

Yeah I think Im going to try that. She has only had boobie so far today, which is good... snuggled me and fell alsleep without being rocked (still snuggled though, but better than rocking lol) which I don't mind. I will try her sippy today if she wants the bottle and see if she will take it.
