Breastfeeding Support - 6 months and beyond!

Such a shame DF... :( I hope somehow your landlord can claim some of the contents, or maybe he will give you some extra $$ to buy some new things... since it is his property and all... never know?

We call it booby lol.. so creative. Daddy and I both say booby.

we say boob lol landlord is on holiday and dont expect him to since we got privileges over other tennents, our windows he is replacing and one cost 3 k and he got us new carpet and all and washing machine, no one elose got that and rest the tennents bit fed up with him ,. I think as darren helps him so much he does it back. He has crap all about here bound to have something we can have, he is not a bad ladnlord and everyone is blaming him and its not his fault its the weather his kitchen was flooded and pumps bust and his xmas day was spent in another flat cleaning a bust a radiately which cost a lot of more damage to the castle. When gas men didnt turn up two days before xmas and we all found out when we had no gas, everyone here he gave us his gas tank to keep us warm and think I said he offered cottage while roof was being foxed. god knows when it will be fixed though insurance have to come and see. I woudlnt say he was a bad landlord he always has been down here right away fixing stuff if theres a prob. I get to go anywhere here I want and other tennants havnt ever been told that as I was asked was I allowed in his garden but he always says to me to bring william up and grab the deck chairs, no one ever goes there just us. Is nice :) big garden all to us and dont have to look after it and its the private one.

So sorry you are having such a shit time DF. :hugs:

Emma calls it booby too. She gets very grabby and says booby, booby, booby over and over. :dohh:

Thats good he is so good to you guys :) He will probably help out somehow :)

Glad I'm not the only one calling it booby hehe

Good morning ladies popping in to say hello and ask for a bit of advice as well please.

My 6 month old can move! She's rolling with purpose now and can drag herself along the floor, I don't think it will be long before she's properly crawling.

So, I figure she's burning more calories now which are being replaced by more frequent nursing. Is this the right way to go or should I try and get more solids in her? The extra feeds don't bother me but if it's solids she needs then fine.

My head tells me that my milk is perfectly fine but just wanted a bit of reassurance.

I had hoped for a few more weeks at least before she started moving!

With weaning this time I am going to wait till Alex picks food up and wants it, the proper way rather than going 6 months which is just some sort of minimum but every baby is different. I think I forced it on William when he wasnt ready I was just doing what everyone said I should.

Littlepne - just go with the extra BFs - it's got more calories than solids anyway x

DF - sorry to read about your roof problem! Sounds like a nightmare. I hope you get it all sorted fairly quickly/easily.

We call BF 'milk' and sign milk too

We sign too

Evie will do the sign for milk but I'm not sure if she knows she is doing it as she does it randomly?????

M is the same - she does it at random times. She seems to just dive her head towards my boobs when she wants feeding now! And she'll have a sneaky go at latching on if I'm lying on the bed naked or if I'm lying on the floor playing and I've got a loose fitting vest top on :dohh:

Like you are milking a cow, one handed I believe :p

Alyssa calls it milk. She now walks up to me and announces "We need some milk", or she'll bring a toy over and pronounces "Big Ted needs some milk" (insert given toy's name in place of Big Ted  ).

As far as weaning, when Alyssa got mobile at 5/6 months I just went with the flow and let her BF as much as she liked. As already mentioned, BM has more calories anyhow :)

Happy 1 year BF milestone Mum2J&Kx2 and Kayleigh, and happy first birthday little miss! :cloud9:

xxx

Happy 1st Birthday Kayleigh!!!!!

I seriously can't believe she is 1yr already! I feel like it flew by! :happydance::cry: lol. Also 12 month breastfeeding milestone today  Love it, I didn't think I would get this far, and I am so happy! Her party is postponed from this weekend until the 16th where she was so sick and all, still on meds and coughing loads too.. but I was thinking of giving her a little birthday cupcake tonight or something.... I don't want her to have lots of sugar or anything, but well.... I want to do something special and a birthday isn't a birthday without a cake:winkwink:

Thank you Anna! :) 1 yr breastfeeding is something I am very proud of! :) I still can't believe at 9:22am she will have been here with me for a whole year! *thank you Kaleb*

You're right - a birthday isn't a birthday without some cake ;)

Alyssa is full of cold, and as 'tis the season of giving, she's passed it on to me :dohh: She's full of energy today, despite hardly sleeping last night. I, on the other hand, am like a zombie :(

I don't get how that works... I really don't lol. Kayleigh would go all day and hardly nap, on top of not sleeping at night the first few days she was sick... and here Mark and I felt like we were about to fall over!

Hope you and Alyssa feel better soon, being sick is no fun at all! :(

Aww loved Williams first birthday, very special. near his second one here soon! wow 2 years of breastfeeding! and now two to feed. Never thought I would have the second here.

Well I am glad I breastfeed as loads here are without water and cant feed babies formula, major crisis! i have water upstairs dosnt, mine comes from a different place apparently. how weird. I seen enough water this past few days and if i didnt habve wayer i wouldnt be able to wash the clothes that where drowned when pipes went and would be with no clothes!

I do feel for mums who cant feed their babies but wish more would see this and realise you cant always get formula made. Breasts you can get out where ever whene ever and always there.

Happy Birthday Kayleigh :cake:

Aw DF, so sorry you've had all that to deal with - you sound like you're taking it in your stride bless you :hugs:

Thank you Seraphim :)

DF- god, I seriously love boobies haha! Power outages, no water etc... and our babies are still fed well. I do feel for the people who can't make their formula up and stuff though :( I always keep bottles of water in case I need it.
