Breastfeeding Support - 6 months and beyond!

I am hormonal and fed up with everything now. Sitting in on own every day and to busy to go out anywhere tiding up. And then to tired. no friends feck all! fed up.

oh im so ready for DH to get back to work tomorrow its been a bloody nightmare having him here as he watches the mess happen then complains for several hours about how it hasnt disappeared while not doing anything himself, grrrr, i want my house back lol

he did take the kids for a bit though today while i ran some errands but it was Nates naptime so he really didnt have to do much other than play a lil with EJ anyway

I do think people are just scared of the unknown so they lash out. I think I've spoken about those girls in here before. The monster women from my very first playgroup. I met them all in the hopes of finding good friends here. I was scared of being here. Hated this place. And than I meet those horrible women. :dohh: I can definitely say, I hated california with a passion the first few months of being here. After the fall out with them, I really doubted myself for a while and my parenting abilities. It's odd because I am the one that wanted to be there for everything with my daughter, I read all kinds of books and am on here always trying to learn things, I do what feels completely natural, but somehow I was the 'bad mother'.:wacko:

As for Emma's sleeping. Last night didn't go as well as the first night. I couldn't get her to sleep in her bed. But she did finally fall asleep in mine at 10:15. So a bit later than I would've hoped but we did the same routine of bath, teeth brushing and all of that. So at least the bedtime is earlier so far. I'll try to get her in her own bed again tonight. We'll see how it goes. I definitely don't want to force it. :D

My OH is pretty good for the most part, my main thing with him is that he doesn't finish anything!!!!!!!!! He will start something and leave it in the middle of the floor and I end up having to put it away. Our shed door... for the life of me I can't figure out how hard it is for him to shut it... drives me mad! I seriously could kick him in the face some days! He laughs...I just told him I was bitching about him on here and he grins.. he damn well knows it :p

Cleckner- You are a damn good mother and I want to kick the girls in the face that made you doubt yourself at all too! lol :growlmad:

Eve, why'd you take off your pretty siggie?! You can come visit here and I'll show you where the really mean girl lives so you can kick her in the face for me. ;);)

Hope everyone is doing ok? :flower:

Cleckner - Sounds like you and Emma are doing great with her new bedtime. Like you said don't rush it or push her she will get there in her own time. Must be hard for her seeing as she is so used to being with you at night

I'm downstairs with Evie sleeping (she is, I'm not  )

Poor love is teething bad and has been very hard to settle.

I even popped her in bed with me hoping that would settle her as we nap together in the day but she decided it was play time and started babbling. Yayayayayaya is her new one now and she has started raising the pitch of her voice at the end of a babble as if she were asking a question lol very cute but not at 3am......

I'm sat here now with the cat going crazy. I think he is very excited to see us so early in the morning lol

How is kayleigh, Eve?

Aww :hugs: I really know the feeling of being stuck awake so late at night. Or early in the morning, however you want to look at it. ;) I hope her teeth pop in soon. Those things can be evil sometimes.

Kinda off topic but I love the name eve/evie. It's so pretty. I've been thinking about names for my 'hypothetical' future babies and I love ava. But ava seems SO popular. At least on this website. But I can't really talk because Emma was the number 3 name in 2009 for girls. :haha:

Can I just say...

Sometimes, a good kick in the face is the best course of action for everyone concerned... Kicker and Kickee alike.

lol hear hear lol EJ has been doing so well with his sleeping now hes back in his cot if we can just get him to bed without Nate waking up they are normally both asleep by 9 n will normally go till 8am too

I have an Eva :) But we chose her name because it was my DH's gran's name and we wanted family names for her. People do try and call her Evie though! I've heard of babies called Ava but never met one. Lovely name though.

We have a name for another girl, and a middle name for a boy but struggle with boys names. I'm still trying to convince DH that another baby is a good idea :)

I loved the name Ava Mae when I was pregnant, but I knew 4!!!! other people that used Ava and one that used Ava Mae! I also loved Maya, but OH wasn't having it. Git! Lol

Cleckner - I remember you saying about the mean girls before. It's hard when none of your friends share your values. I've got one friend that BFs and carries her baby sometimes, and one friend that BFs but started weaning early, and giving 'tastes' of chocolate at 10 weeks :dohh:

Other than that, the rest of my friends FF, and have used CC or CIO at some point. They think I'm a massive hippy for using cloth, extended BF (past 3 months was a shock to them), wearing LO and co-sleeping (gotta love the 'rod for your own back' comments!)

I'm fed up with OH too. He's completely hands off when it comes to LO! He's literally changed her nappy 3 times and bathed her once when I was ill. I was hoping he'd get up with LO this morning as I was feeling like death warmed up - but no such luck. M doesn't take a bottle or cup either, so I think he uses that as an excuse. I've had 9 hours away from M since she was born. I'm bloody knackered! Lol

hahaha! You got that right! :p

Oh teething is such a hard thing on babes and mums too :( K has been sick and on top of that, cut 3 new teeth since a week before Christmas! Poor girl. She is doing better though, not coughing anymore, almost done her antibiotics, then it's back to the doctor to check up and make sure all is clear. I have a very bad sore throat today :( and get the girls back tomorrow I look after part time. All day tomorrow... like near 12 hours. Extra money though so bonus for me.

I hated the name Eve for so long. Real name, as you would know, is Evelyn and I find it old ladyish to me... lol but don't mind Eve much anymore.

Thought it was too big, so decided for now to just go with this and then change it up every week or so :haha: Plus trying to keep pics to a min right now...

I feel lucky that way as OH basically takes over for me when he gets home, which gives me time to get supper finished, tidy, bath, and of course jump on bnb. He changes near the same amount of diapers as me. He got her all changed and cleaned up for bed tonight after playing with her for an hour. He does a lot with her. Even has taken her go the grocery store a few times. I feel very lucky... he pisses me off for other things lol..

Oh yeah, was going to say... I was looking through one of the girls I have on FBs pictures from New Years and they were hammered with her kids there (4 and 1) and in one pic her kids are down at the bottom of the stairs... and seriously her 1yr old is smaller than K and can't walk yet so I don't think she should be around stairs! Bothers me... I see joints in some of the pictures too. Sadly if I want a play date around here... she is it! :(

I don't know if you can see her album but if so... here is the link.

https://www.facebook.com/album.php?...0313&set=a.10150381893255313.589457.613930312

Bothers me quite a bit :nope:

I want to join a mommy group around here but I know I will be judged. Still breastfeeding past 12 months, and my parenting style in general... I am going to see about Bosom Buddies, and hope they aren't bad and meet often. I seriously hope...

Could you find a local la leche league and meet up there? I think they have monthly meetings and it's basically like a playdate because they all bring the kiddos. I've never been to one personally but I bet it's full of people with similar parenting styles. Us breastfeeders seem to be cut from the same cloth most of the time. :D

Ha ha defo worth a kick in the face!!!

Got the HV coming soon for her 8 month check then going to take some library books back then doing NOTHING
