Breastfeeding Support - 6 months and beyond!

sometimes the hormones of breastfeeding can make you think that to, I tested loads of times because I thought I was. Then I was but that was months after lol sorry Anna, I think you will have a Christmas baby though :) Or another jan/feb Aquarius one as they are the best sign ;)

Well I tested and got BFP

saw doc today who sent me to early pregnancy unit for a dating scan and we found out I have 2 little babies, non identical!!!!!!

Are you having a good birthday DF?

Did you do anything special today?

what a shock that must be- twins!! Congrats!!!

Happy Birthday DF!

holy moly! this is my first post in here but congratulations on the twins, I'm TTC and would love twins! so jealous, wowee, enjoy :)

so anyway.....
I semi-routine feed DS, he's just over 8mo and seems to be taking less and less with each feed. I really love bf and don't want to stop but would also really like to conceive so don't mind if he cuts down - do they normally drop some feeds around this age?

Sophia didn't really drop any feeds until about 10 months i don't think.

Happy birthday for yesterday DF

Congrats on the twins - eek!

congrats on the twins hunni and belated happy bd DF
yesterday was our 10month BF milestone !!

Congrats on the twins :happydance: Thats brilliant news.

Belated happy birthday DF :flower:

And congrats on your 10 month milestone lynnik. :happydance:

Lola- Emma has just now been cutting down feeds in the last month or two. But still feeds about 6 times in a 24 hour period.:haha: I think every baby is different in that regard. Also, Welcome to the group!!

Lynnikins- Congrats on the 10 month milestone!!:dance:

Miss_bump- Has it sunk in yet? I'd probably crap myself if I ever find out I'm having twins. It's like my worst nightmare. They do say breastfeeding raises your chance of multiples if you conceive while still breastfeeding. Not really sure where I heard that or why it is but....it seems to have worked for you!! :haha:

A belated happy birthday DF and congrats on your 10 month milestone lynnikins!

 congrats miss_bump. I think I would freak if I found out I was expecting twins. There are days I wrote how I'd manage with another, let alone 3 with 2 newborns at once! I'd have to buy a new house and move my mum in for a few months i think.

Welcome LolaAnn! I think it was probably closer to 9-10 months before Ronan really started dropping feeds but he's still completely random and fed on demand.

Not much new to report here. We're almost at our 1 year mark! :happydance: Other than that, i have an awful tummy bug going on 2 days now that I'm hoping ronan doesn't catch. He's going straight into disposables until it's passed though if he does! I'm trying to drink as much water as i can without making myself nauseous as I don't want it to affect my supply. I was never even this sick during first tri when i was pregnant!

Really? Well i guess its true :dohh:

Everyone has been very supportive and stupidly happy and my mum even said today that every time she thinks about it she smiles and goes all 'gooey' (her words not mine)

But im still all over the place.
Im happy but just gutted that its not the best timing and im going to have to wean Evie off the boob and i feel like i will be taking something away from her before she is ready. She is my baby and all the love i give to hear will now be shared 3-fold.

I do feel selfish thinking like this as i know so many ladies cannot have babies and would love even 1 where im spoilt for choice but we will make it work.

In myself im feeling ok, still a little sicky but no too bad.

I wonder if twins = double symptoms?!

I really would love to BF them :happydance:
xx

Here's a little tidbit I just found. :flower:
"Most people think that you can't get pregnant while breastfeeding, that the process of lactating keeps a woman from ovulating. However, plenty of mothers of twins disagree with that idea. Some research has supported the theory that the chance of twins or multiples is increased if a woman conceives while breastfeeding. For example, Dr. Gary Steinman claims that women who become pregnant while breastfeeding are nine times more likely to conceive twins than women who are not breastfeeding at the time of conception."

And here are other things that increase chances of multiples.

I definitely think it'll sink in eventually and you'll see how much of an amazing blessing they'll be. I, for one, would LOVE to be pregnant right now. We tried for two months before DH left. But now he's deployed and I have nothing to do but wait. :( And although I would never wish twins on myself, I am a tidbit jealous you're pregnant! :haha: Heck, I'm jealous of girls that are trying right now! DH and I both want another but don't have a choice ATM!
