Canadian Ladies!! 1st, 2nd and 3rd trimesters.... Now everyone can stay in touch!

hmm interesting...well Sweden could be nice this time of year. :haha:

I agree, lemon Canada needs to adopt this philosophy. I think Norway and Denmark have the free tuition too. We have our fund started but realistically if my daughter wants to do grad or professional school (vet, med ect..). She won't have enough money. Right now for one year in Med school in Canada is 30,000-40,000.

I agree ladies, but with a population that voted in a Conservative majority...not sure we have too much hope of adding even MORE socialist policies at this point. Those countries tax MUCH higher and have much more government involvement...we have a government that seems to prefer privatization and corporate takeover...

Lol, ok rant over!

Dee_H - Hope you made out ok with all the flooding in the Truro area

Yikes- how was your ultrasound???
Country- good luck on yours today!

Some updating for you ladies- my back pain has come back so I am now on medical leave. It was a really easy process and I kinda wish I did it earlier. I hemmed and hawed about it for awhile but once I decided to it was a big load of my shoulders (and back!) So now I am at home! My house is going to be so clean, hehe. I also had my ultrasound yesterday- it was amazing! I didn't realize we were going to see the spine/brain/kidneys/heart etc. in all that much detail! We didn't get a great look at baby's profile but thats okay. At the end he said "we're all done with that" and then kept going for awhile. My husband saw he wrote "GEN" on the screen so my husband looked away. I didn't see that because I was looking too hard at baby! I'm pretty sure I saw girl parts. I could be wrong though- it could be in my head! My husband said he saw a penis... that was 6 inches long

lol lemongrass. He probably saw the umbilical cord lol. Glad your off work but hope the back feels better.

It was pretty bad here. My house was not affected so much..we couldn't really go anywhere though because all the roads were closed. My parents however live in North River..where it was the worst..they had their entire basement flood and there is a lot of damage. My poor horses were stuck up on the hill and couldn't get down because the brook turned into a full on river and blocked the path to the barn. All the roads are open here today but there is a lot of cleanup to do...the sides of the roads are washed out..there is dirt and debris everywhere!!

My sister's house is on Avon Street in Bible Hill, right next to the water, but luckily her and her young children are here in PEI right now. Their basement was full of water too! The washer and dryer were even moved around!

I love PEI!!! My grandfather and my OH are from there. We go to visit at least once a month.

Hope it doesn't take too long toget your sisters place cleaned up. The pictures I have seen of the area looked really bad.

Hi ladies :) I'm a Ontario Canada girl due oct 7th (so the countdown is 3 weeks Sunday).
Hope you are all well.
We are team pink, already have a toddler boy.
Hope you don't mind me crashing so late

Hi ladies! I am from Ontario too!
I have been reading your posts but not saying much. I am 6 weeks and I have an ultrasound this afternoon. I went for one last Friday when I thought I was 6 weeks, but only measured at 5 weeks. Has anyone else had this happen? I was really concerned since I go to a fertility clinic and was monitored my whole cycle, so I don't know how my dates would be off by a whole week!

Welcome to the new ladies!!

Countrygirl - Congrats on team blue!!!!

Lemongrass - LOL about your DH. :) My U/S was this morning... and it went really well. It was cool to see the four chambers of the heart and the fingers and toes and incredibly long legs. Baby weighs 383 grams... so itty-bitty! S/he was moving around like crazy... the U/S tech was struggling to get all the shots and had me go pee twice and walk around the building to see if baby would relax... no such luck!! :) But we got the shots and everything seems good. I told her right when we got in that I didn't want to know the gender so she hid it from us completely... how am I going to last until Jan 29th???

Babies R Us are having Babyfest right now... I couldn't resist, I bought swaddlers, receving blankets, a fitted sheet and a belly wedge pillow. And I might have to go back...

Anyone in Ontario found nice nursery furniture??

I ordered our furniture online. I bought a wardrobe, changetable/dresser, crib and night stand.. oddly enough from Walmart online. Free shipping and it was 400$ cheaper then ordering it from sears. Its the South Shore Cottage collection nursery. We bought it in white. It reminds me of a breezy hotel on some hot beach. lol

Medic that's the same one my DH just set up two weeks ago :):) it's quite the complex assembly, but lovely when finished!

I opted for different baskets though, got some awesome more modern looking teal ones at Michaels for 70% off! They fit perfectly luckily ;)

Welcome to the new ladies! Hopeful, not sure why I didn't think to mention this thread to you earlier... sorry.:nope:

AFM baby still doesn't want to meet us yet. I, however, am ready to be finished with this pregnancy and so will be opting for a sweep at my doctor's appointment on Monday if we have no action this weekend. I'm exhausted, sore and have come to terms with the fact that this is it. I'd rather be done sooner and still have a little bit of enjoyment left in this pregnancy than wait it out and be completely miserable. The only issue I'm having is that baby is what they refer to as "sunny side up" so not in the best position for giving birth (longer labour, better chance of tearing) but I'm hoping he/she will turn during labour and all will be well. Can't wait to find out if I can get pink or blue items as I haven't purchased one item for this child and am feeling quite guilty. Poor second child!
