Canadian Moms & Moms to be!

Ha ha yeah, I'm afraid I'm not going to get much of a paycheque! :haha:

I get 40% off regular priced items or sale price, whichever is better. I can't use Gymbucks, but I don't often shop there either so its all good on that front. They've had diehard Gymboree shoppers apply then quit because its not cost effective to work there. :haha:

Its too bad you don't live closer, I'd totally use my discount for items for the girls. Not sure if it works with online stuff.

Wendy - how was your crazy Alberta trip/vacation?

It was good! I wanted to see you, but I saw you had just got back yourself! We will be down in Calgary in the summer I am sure, and in September Brian has a Crohns specialist appointment there, so maybe we can meet up??

Banff was fun. Except we went on this FREEZING cold blowing wind horse sleigh ride, and Elliot screamed bloody murder the whole time and was ruining everyones ride...so I had to boob him. In winter. In the mountains. On a sleigh. With insane mountain wind. Hahah, I thought of how Stiina would be proud lmao.

Second time I felt like a cavewoman. (First time being my natural labour and delivery lol)

Hey guys, I need opinions!

I want to get a jogging stroller (used) and I'm looking for something that will be of good quality and have a handbrake and something with a cup holder (it is important damnit!).
Any opinions on which ones are better so I keep my eye out?

*edit* And obviously something comfortable for Amira so she isn't struggling to get out after 5 minutes

Glad you had a good trip Wendy!

:hugs: Tiff, are you going to be able to quit the restaurant once you get established at Gymboree?

Amanda--check out the sales when they have them, you can find some decent deals in those (only way I can afford anything Gymboree ) and could even get bigger sizes for later on :) I do find I'm more willing to spend a bit more now on say a dress for Hannah now that I'll get a full years use out of it rather than just a couple of months

Sara one of the grandmas was trying awfully hard to get J off of me

that would be MIL she ran around the room after J trying to take her from everyone and anyone :dohh: like you live 5 minutes away from us and only visit once a week - thats your problem... let her visit with people who she doesn't get to see so often LOL I was talking about it with my mom at breakfast today and my mom said she felt bad on wednesday at our house, cause J kept crawling and reaching for my mom and not my MIL and mom said she felt bad :haha:

I did let her take J, figured she had priority since she was a grandma and all but it was pretty funny

If you're looking for a jogging style stroller and not going to use it for serious jogging, then I would recommend the BOB revolution. It's a good all-terrain all-around stroller. Definitely the one I see the most. Also the Baby Jogger Summit is a good x-country easily maneuverable stroller.

If you need a serious jogging stroller, then I would go with the Baby Jogger Performance or the BOB Ironman.
I had the Baby Jogger and loved it! x

I'm pretty sure none of these actually come with the cup holder though. Most companies sell them for a ridiculous fee. I got mine from a bike shop that sells cruiser bikes, so the cup holder is big enough to fit coffees :haha: Way cheaper and I can just use it for the next stroller I buy!

oh yeah sorry Rach but I don't have any idea on jogging strollers  I am not a runner

Thanks Sun! That's great! I am looking for something I can grow with, I'm hoping in the future to get into serious jogging but right now I'm focusing on losing weight so I can not kill my knees when I do try jogging lol
I'm also looking for something that will work while I'm rollerskating (so I really need a handbrake) and just for walking.

I know it seems silly to really want one with a cupholder but I don't want to have to stop everytime I need a drink and then dig under Amira to get in. (I noticed a lot of them don't have a lot of storage and if they do it's jammed under the kid and hard to get at)

Thank you for the help, I'll keep my eyes open!

No worries Vickie! :hugs:

Rach, we love our Chariot and I see a lot of them around Nelson, so you might have a good chance at finding one secondhand locally?
It's a very comfy ride, but no cup holder - there is one, but it's sold separately, I think.

I wouldn't recommend the serious jogging strollers then! They are all about lightness and maneuverability so nothing extra at all. Def not much storage.

I had the Baby Jogger Summit XC and I LOVED it. I'm not an overly serious runner, but did go out 4-5x/week and was out at least every day walking and it was easily good enough for me. It has a hand brake and also an emergency strap you wrap around your wrist, a giant sun canopy, storage underneath, you can buy a stroller-specific cup holder ($30 I think?), and a rain cover. It also is very tall so fits them for a long time! I only sold ours because I bought a Chariot instead of the baby jogger summit double. We wanted the bike trailer option!

Oh, and Baby Jogger also has a nifty one-handed fold that is simple!

i have a onestep jogging stroller that had a hand brake and 2 cup holders LOL but its not for a serious jogger... however i put over 300km running with it last summer and it held up pretty good - a couple minor repairs i was able to do myself. Im going to try to find a charriot used for this summer... but i have to convince tim i need it LOL

Chariot = Highly Recommended! OH and I agree the Chariot was the best purchase we ever made for the kids apart from my baby carriers. They are totally worth it - I used mine every single day this winter through deep snow/ice and we'll be cycling and running with it this summer.

Edit: It's not the best for running, but I'm not sure how far I could get with 2 kids anyway :haha:

I use the phil in teds sport. Doesnt have a hand break or a cup holder but its been good. I roller blade with it too and havent needed a hand break. Only thing is i wish it was a little wider and sometimes the tire interferes with my stride.

We went to the zoo today and we got some pretty funny comments. One was on how Anna is going to catch pneumonia because she was pumping in puddles (she did get wet but we had 3 change of clothes for her). This lady was saying this as her kids were whining that they wanted to play in the puddle too. Some parents lol

seriously?? let your kids jump ion puddles lady! Thats what I would have said... My kids have been outside all winter and will be all spring. Peyton loves splashing :D

Thanks guys, you're awesome! I appreciate your help, when it come sto jogging strollers I'm clueless!

Sandra that's just silly, why not let kids be kids and have fun? It's not l ike you weren't prepared! Sheesh. I am glad she had fun!

Glad to hear she had fun splashing in the puddles as she should have.

Yes, we went to Nova Scotia and drove through the Annapolis Valley.

It is such a beautiful day here today, so I think we will be heading out to enjoy it a bit.

Gorgeous day here!! Once Alia wakes up we'll be going outside :)

I HATE when people don't mind their own business about your kids. Today at the grocery store Alia had a sippy cup of water and some old bag comes up to us and asks Alia "are you drinking water or juice" Alia answered "water" (which the lady didn't expect). And then the lady says "good because juice will rot your teeth".
Excuse me? What if it was juice? Alia drinks juice on occasion and there's nothing wrong with that. Some people just don't know how to mind their own business. :nope:

not only that but you can't trust anything that comes out of a babe's mouth LOL. when i give J juice she gets 5oz of water with 1 oz of apple juice and will only drink 1-2 oz total from the cup... meaning she actually consumed what maybe a teaspoon of juice, but if she could talk and someone asked her she would say juice!

lol, I hear ya. People need to mind their own business. Anna gets 20 ml of prune juice a day to keep her regular.
