Dieting while ttc - any advice or people in same position?

No not really... I set myfitnesspal to losing 2lbs a week. And I have been known to lose about a kilo a week sometimes. I'm just gonna see how it goes.
 
Hi ladies,

Planning on not buying anymore low fat yogurts but switching to normal ones - has anyone heard or got experience of how low fat dairy can affect fertility? I read an article on it so decided the ones i have been eating may not have helped our chances.

I read about this in The Fertility Diet book. Said something like the extra hormones in the low fat are male hormones? I do not remember exactly...I can look it up if anyone is interested. You might can find this online, as well.

Hi can i join this thread. I am not calorie counting but doing weight watchers. Im on my first week but so far doing really well, sticking to it and enjoying it.

One thing that i have found really useful is planning our meals for the week ahead. I found we waste so much less food and we stick to the food set. I work 12 hour shifts and find eating meals really difficult after a long day u just want something really quick and at work i only get 2, 20 min breaks if that, usually just one. So i find i eat so quick and it has to fill me up as i may go the rest of the shift with no other break.
I am now trying if i am tempted to go over my points by saying 'do i want that or do i want a baby' which is a huge motivator. I know i will fall at some point but thats why i am not using my extra weekly points.
Fingers crossed all our hard work will make a difference!
 
First day done... Did my calories and some exercise.... Missing the chocolate already :S Especially since I remembered I still had some left, laying around the house :S Wish I never thought of it!! So tempted!
But I can and will be strong! It's 9pm here so I'm gonna go to bed in a minute, probably play a game on my phone and then go to sleep so I won't think about that chocolate anymore!
Can't wait for this first week to be over though, cause after a week you're more used to the diet and exercise again and you get to see how well you did and that's usually a huge boost for me!

I dont really diet stricly but ive been watching what i eat very very much so, because i have been having som stomach issues and mainly because i dont fit into my jeans anymore. i say I have abou 15 lbs to lose but my weight does not affect my cycles and im still active. i go to yoga 1 or twice a week and walk a lot. I do however need to incorporate some hardcore cardio into my routine. I find exercise helps me with my stress.

I make all my lunches and try to eat at home as much as possible. I save money and i eat way less greasy. Also, dont limit yourself with time. you can do it and what you put into your body is so important!!
 
How are you all? Im at my lowest weight since my baby was 5 month old! Still a long way to go though. How do you all feel about going to the gym in the TWW? I do do it but not sure if i should. I normally do a lot of weights and loads of cardio, usually in there about 2 hours. What do you do? xx
 
I think I got told in the gym that you can do the cardio stuff but I think the weights were a no no if you're pregnant. OR at least the abdominal exercises. But I can't remember exactly. I'd just ask at the gym. I personally don't wanna risk anything after the mc we had so I just don't do any exercise other than walking when I'm in the 2ww.


Day 2 for me today! My legs are still sore from yesterday's kettlebell exercises! :dohh:
 
Oh sorry for your loss hun, i'll ask my consultant at the Fert specialists and see what they recommend. That pain is always good to feel, makes you know you've done good xx
 
I am doing about an hour cardio 4 or 5 times a week at the gym. Had a fat day today :(
 
I'm in so much pain!! :( Just sitting down hurts, the actual sitting doesn't but bending to sit down hurts, or picking things up off the floor and kneeling down... Meh!!! :cry: Think I'm gonna have 1 day off tomorrow and then another day this weekend. Cause I'm gonna be doing 5 days a week. But I'll still keep up with my diet. Fingers crossed I will have lost some weight by monday! (not expecting much, but even a little would be nice!)
 
Rest days are important :D And charlie i had a whole fat weekend just gone AHAHA! Its good to have a treat every now and then ;) xx

Young, I think it is perfectly fine to exercise in the tww. You could maybe take it down a notice if you are worried about doing something too strenuous. Congratulations on the weight loss. That’s great. Exercise is good for fertility. It brings blood flow to the uterus and surrounding area.

Eltjuh, I hope that your new found motivations lasts until you reach your goals.

Charlie, just remember tomorrow is another day. You get to start fresh.

My gym has a nice walking track so I usually enjoy that. I will do about 16 laps which is 1 mile.

My post from the other day doesn't seem to have worked so sorry I seem to have been gone a while! Had first week weigh in on Monday and had lost 1.5lbs. Not much but I hadn't been to the toilet (tmi-sorry!) and going in the right direction atleast!

Reading your posts I feel a bit lazy with my exercise and think I should pick it up a bit. Work just seems so busy and when I start at 7.50am and don't leave until 6.30pm the idea of doing an hour cardio before catching bus home and then eating dinner seems impossible. Do you exercise before or after work?

On cd13/14 today so O should be soon since I have a 27/28day cycle. But did an OPK test and the second line was barely there- may have just been in my mind. Is that normal or if I was going to O would there be something detected by now?! My body is creating CM, possible ewcm, so surely it would only do tha if something was happening?

Was never planning on testing to try to keen stress down, just wanted to Bd every other day. But DH was too tired by the time I got home at 10pm last night. Just feel we should give ourselves best shot but if I am not Ovulating then guess it doesn't matter anyway.

I don't work so I just do my exercise when my son is in bed. But I don't do an hour either (at the moment) I'm just doing 15-20 minutes of kettlebell exercises and 10 minutes on my ab circle pro machine... (which I hate!! I used to do half an hour every day when I was losing weight last year, but that was the only exercise I did, other than walking).
 
Any exercise is better than no exercise! Im not weighing in till monday. I do every monday! Im setting myself mini goals every month too which makes the huge weight loss seem a bit easier! xx

I killed my stomach Monday, had to take 2 days off to recover :(
 
Ive just bought almond milk for the first time ever and I LOVE IT! only 48 cals a glass and healthier than normal milk but its so nice too! xx
 
My legs seem slightly better today, still hurts when sitting down etc. But I've decided to go do my streetdance class again tonight (I used to go every week until I had a mc) So I'll have my day off tomorrow! Think I might do 3 days on 1 day off exercise. So 1 day off a week.

When I used to ride the bus for work, I would try to get off a few stops early and walk. Sometimes that isnt possible, but every little bit helps. It was in the summer in Texas so I got a good tan, too.

I am still in a bit of pain waiting for either surgery or my cyst to go down...so too much exersise is not in the cards for me, right now. It's my excuse for the time being...I love to walk, swim, dance....but do not call it exersise.

Oh my lord, ive only lost 30lb but my gym wants to use my progress pics on their wall already! I'll be their first progress pics up there! :| No idea what to do xx
