Can anyone recommend a good forum for mother's of twins. I would love to do some more reading as I figure all this out.

Chloe - Wow you sound like you have had it really good! Is this your first pregnancy? That could be why, I'm not sure but lucky you haha enjoy it!!

I got up like ohhh heck I don't even remember how many times I got up to pee last night :p

There is a twins, triplets and multiples section over in the parenting forums category, come over there if you havent already, theres preggy twin mums and mums that have already had twins etc, Im finding it really informative!

Ohh man am I foggy today, I just about wrote "I didn't even know about the twins triplets and multiples section" thinking I was already posting in it and was just about to go off and find this other one that I thought I had missed haha :dohh:

I had my appointment today and it was good and annoying. I found out why all my pelvis pain and finding it hard to walk etc the boys head (I assume its the boy cos hes always been the one on the left lower side) is firmly wedged down low in my pelvis! I got to the main reception after finally making it through the car park only to be told I needed to walk down a long hall to the end, my mouth dropped and I almost fell over. Was tempted to ask for a wheelchair :haha:
No jokes though, walking is rough now. I wonder how long after the head engages that you give birth? Do any of you know?

The consultant said any time from 36 weeks :O she also asked why I was only going in now at 30 weeks, apparently I should of been sent in earlier and she put it down to my midwife forgetting. It concerned me a little bit cos obviously I only want the best care for my babies.
THEN got told I had to wait two weeks for my scan, so I am going a whole 6 weeks without a growth scan! Is this even okay? Do any of you know? I was supposed to have one end of last week but somehow I got overlooked and I never got my appointment!

I have an appointment next week with my midwife and then again in two weeks with the specialist.

Yea six weeks seems a while, specially at your stage! Sometimes women slip under the radar....

6 weeks should be fine unless you are high risk, I'm high risk and was told no longer than 4 weeks between scans but have been luck that they have been almost every two weeks!! I think your mid wife should be a little mire onto it with twins, I'm not fussed on my specalist care lady I get and I made it known.
Good luck not long to go

Thanks yeah, I have my normal midwife who I have chosen to still see along with the specialist but she wasn't in a hurry to sign me over and has been pretty laxed about everything.I've known her for so long though and she is a great midwife, she says the hospital fluffs around with stuff too, I know she sent the scan referral off to the hospital 3 - 4 weeks ago I just have not heard a thing from them!

Ohhh I don't know, as long as I get my scan in two weeks and everything is good I am happy!
Got talked through the birth! scary stuff. It really isn't that long, I am freaking out and have started the mad clean of my house when I can actually move! I feel like I dont have enough time to do everything and left everything too late!

If theres any advice to give you ladies who are still early, make sure you have everything in order ready to go early on, cos if you start having problems with being mobile when you reach the latter stages its so not cool! I was fine and kept putting stuff off and then the hard tired and soreness hit almost over night.

My MW is laxed as, and I can imagine the hospital being the same! I think some other countries seem to be more OTT than little old NZ, Kiwi attitude "she'll be right" :D

And yea, Im doing lots of sorting out! And spring cleaning. I cant wait to find out what Im having (had two dreams last night that it was two boys then one of each) and then I can sort out all the clothes I have sitting in cupboards and boxes etc

Did any of your babies first moves feel like a tickling sensation behind the skin? I've been sitting at my desk working for the past 10 minutes and it feels like something keeps tickling me from the inside? Same spot and it's not continuous. I feel it for a few seconds then it stops and starts again..? I've never felt anything like it before

arj - my mw is like that too, shes an older lady really nice. I had her with my first and second babies so have known her a really long time. I agree we are pretty laid back here and other places seem really OTT I'm not sure which is better though! haha
When is your scan? Your not far off getting one hopefully they both co operate and you get to find out what they are.
My girl had the cord between her legs and they could only give me a probably a girl till my next scan whereas the boy has showed off his stuff every scan :p

Floridagirl - that sounds like it could be babies :D If you get more of them over the next week or two then it is.

Chloe - you never know? you could be one of these lucky people who have a really good pregnancy and not a single ache or pain! I've had one of those, it was brilliant. Enjoy it :D
With the birth talk yeah they went through the whole thing, didn't really touch on a c section though as she seems pretty confident I wont need one unless the babies get distressed for whatever reason.
Most of what she said I already knew about from reading and what my mw told me :p but it was good to hear the whole process from start to finish.
I am unsure about the leading twin being breech, different places do it differently but over here if the leading twin is breech then its a c sec.
If the second twin is breech (like mine) then that has no effect of what birth you will have cos they can deliver the second breech or they turn after the first comes out.

I am having a big sort out today! If I can haha

I just had my 17 week check up, measuring 24cm! What were you all?
Im getting my scan in 2 and a half weeks, cant wait! My MW today put the doppler on and it took ages and ages to find the heartbeats cos they were so far in, right against my back she said. Both heart beats are round 138 - 148 and MW said both will be boys! Here's me thinking only four weeks ago I was pregnant with a singleton girl!!!!

Im SO hoping my babies cooperate and show me what sex they are! Im dying to know!

Oh wow thats a good size haha. I just looked in my notes and at 18 weeks I was measuring 22 :p
Glad to hear your appointment went well! Not long until your scan so you can find out for sure soon :D

arj - hehehe, my MW thought mine were two girls from the heartbeat and we are having twin boys!!! hehe!! i bet u are sooooo excited to find out! i am excited for you!! hehe!

zephyr - you never know, i guess i could have an easy preg, i guess esp as its my first? we will see!!!! hehe!! yeah same in my hospital, if first is breeched then c section but second doesnt really matter of position. but i sometimes here people who have breeeched babies the doctors help it change positions?! i will be asking on monday when i go!! hopefully they will talk me through birth etc! i have been reading but i get so confused still!! lol!!! i have been sorting things around the hosue non stop! its so addictvie and never had this urge to sort things out in my life!!!!!! its great though!

FloridaGirl21 - does sound like the babies!! yeahyyy! :happydance:

hope everyones ok!!! just watching some cooking programme on morning tv and its making me sooooooooooooooo hungry!!! lol!

Chloe I read that with twins the 'nesting' urge is even stronger than one baby! I didn't get it till later on with my singletons but this time round I just want to organise things and buy containers and drawers for everything! lol, cant be a bad thing! Bout the only time that I actually felt like pulling my fridge out and cleaning underneath it! :D

Ohh so that totally explains me too then! I have been nesting for the past couple of weeks and been trying so hard to get everything sorted, the house immaculate and in order but the soreness takes over :p

Chloe - it is possible its because its your first, your body tends to wear down the more you have, this is my 4th pregnancy so I have no doubt that's the reason I am feeling so rough.

I had crazy dreams last night, dreamt I had a telescope thing and was looking in my belly at my twins and they were beautiful! and I was telling everyone how beautiful they were, but then I went into labour (in my dream) and I woke up groaning cos I needed to pee and that was setting off some painful BH's

Hope everyone else had a great night!

Ha I had a rude dream last night! :O I wont go into detail but it was with someone that would be highly disturbing to have 'relations' with in real life!!! >.< Hate those dreams!! lol

I wish I would dream what sex my babies were... I keep dreaming girl and boy and then in the same night two boys! Which is it!?!??
13 days till I get my scan!!!!

Ohh haha those dreams are awkward I wake up going urrrm wth??
Well you dont have too long to wait to find out :D Before I knew I was pregnant with twins I dreamt I was going to have twin girls and then I had another saying triplets two girls and a boy. Then I had numerous dreams afterwards about the sex's and they were always different! It was so frustrating.
