First Time Mommies Due February 2016 - Anyone Want to Join Me?

I'm pretty much hungry all the time and also nauseous a lot, which I never thought I'd experience simultaneously. Eating has been winning out, so I'm definitely keeping an eye on the scale!

We heard the heartbeat on the doppler at the doctor's this week and, paired with the good u/s at 7 weeks, we've felt good enough to tell friends as we run into them. Dh and I hadn't really consulted with one another and came home Friday night to hear we'd both told a bunch of friends when we were out, so good thing we're on the same page! For whatever reason, I don't feel like saying anything on fb any time soon. Can't wait to see/hear about everyone's announcements!

My next appointment is the nuchal scan on 8/24.

We got our pictures back!
We haven't posted them on facebook yet, but I thought I would show a few to you girls. :)

Adorable!!!! :D

Pri, awesome pic and nice idea with the CD!

AFM I had my nuchal scan yesterday. They said blood work will take about 2 full weeks to come back but the paperwork said Bip was measuring 59mm (12+3, so a day behind), and nuchal fold measured 1.3mm. So right now I'm cautiously optimistic and (im)patiently waiting for the bloods to come back!

What great pictures!!! Thank you for sharing with us. :)

Fading, these pics are the sweetest thing!!
Loved, loved, loved!!! In love!!! haha

Annie, how cool that you and hubby told friends simultaneously :)
Always good to be on the same page!! :)

AFM: Nausea in the morning really decided to kick in! Hoping for this to be over by next week.....

Have a great day, ladies!!

I LOVE your photo, xfading! Perfection. You look awesome, cool dress, and I'm such a sucker for slip-on Vans. They'll be my baby's first shoes :)

Duster - that measurement is great! Definitely time to start feeling confident!

Pri - oh no! I was hoping I was in the clear for intense ms! I can't believe yours started at the end of first tri! You poor girl.

anniemac: Awesome news hearing heartbeat!

xfading: Love the pics and I'm in agreement that those are very cool shoes :)

duster: congrats on great measurements! I have NT scan next week. How long did it take?

pri: I'm also sorry to hear ms is just hitting you. Hopefully it's just a quick thing and you'll feel better as you hit the 2nd trimester. Mine was every day starting at 6 weeks and then around 9.5 weeks it started being every other day and much more mild so I do think those 2nd trimester hormone changes help. Maybe this is just a reaction to those changes? I hope you feel better soon!

Mine lasted over an hour because Bip was not cooperating; how long it takes depends on your baby's position and activity level. The tech was digging the transducer into my right side enough that I was tender in that spot the following day! That time allotment is also without lab time for bloods. That took me an additional 40 minutes because my OB had forgotten to put in the order for my lab work...

Duster:
mine took a little while too, baby was sleeping and would not move!!!
But your measurements are great! And you are officially on the 2nd trimester now??? Yayyyyy

Thanks Annie and Panda!! :hugs:

Going back to the nausea / feeling hungry thing, I noticed with me that when I start to get hungry I get hunger and nausea at the same time. And anything I think of, it doesn't agree to my stomach. But, since I've been bringing lunch to work, I force myself to eat my lunch, even if it doesn't appeal to me at first, but then I eat with no problem and I dont feel the nausea.

I've been having heartburn after lunch, but as soon as I eat my daily piece of chocolate it goes away!

And the nausea has been mainly when I brush my teeth (at any time of the day) I've been using less tooth paste.

I still can't see my belly bump, but pants are definitely a lot tighter and uncomfortable.

I've had some slight heartburn, too, but not bad. I have a feeling it will be less nausea and more heartburn soon.

My stomach also looks flat to me (except when I'm a bit bloated) and yet I hate the feeling of pants. I guess my waist is thicker but it's hard to tell. I've been mostly wearing sundresses. Thank goodness it's summer.

That's funny about the toothbrushing. I have read lots of women get nausea from that. I have the opposite. I always have the weird excess saliva and metallic taste so toothbrushing and mouthwash make me feel better for a second. It gives me a break from that taste.

I'm still really tired so I'm looking hoping that 2nd trimester brings on a burst of energy and no nausea!

Thanks for the info about the ultrasound!

I'm so glad brushing my teeth hasn't bugged me yet.
It's bad enough that I wear a retainer at night (had braces a couple years ago). The feeling of it in my mouth makes me gag a lot. But I don't want to risk not wearing it and having my teeth shift. :(

Little celebration for me today: Just took my last hormones. I've now completed my weaning calendar from the fertility clinic! No more shots!

I'm waiting till 14 weeks (Monday) to technically say I'm in second trimester :) But I'm happy to be approaching! I am a teacher and have been off all summer. Next week I start teaching summer camps and tbh am a bit nervous to get back into the swing of things.

Little celebration for me today: Just took my last hormones. I've now completed my weaning calendar from the fertility clinic! No more shots!

Yay! What a great milestone to celebrate!

Panda: congrats!!!! So nice to hear you are off your hormones!!!!! One less thing for your body to take!!!! Yayyyy

Duster: oh, how nice to be off all Summer!!! you probably took lots of afternoon naps
Don't be nervous for be coming back! you will be fine :) So you haven't told them yet, since you were off?

Fading: I wear a retainer too, but every other night.. the retainer itself doesn't make me gag, but the tooth paste, a different story not fun!!!

AFM: So I went to my obgyn on Monday morning to follow up the u/s for the NT I've done on the previous week at the u/s place (it really sucks my obgyn does not have the u/s in their office).
The nurse used the doppler and we heard the heartbeat. 163.
Then, later in the afternoon on Monday, I saw that I spotted a bit. It was just a bit and only once.
Yesterday I was clear, and today I spotted again. Just a little and just once.
I started week 12 today. Should I be concerned? Should I call the doctor?

That's awesome, Panda! Must feel so good.

I feel bad for everyone with the toothbrush gagging. That sounds awful. I actually get nauseous at night. I don't know why. It makes it hard to fall asleep. I'm going to try smaller dinners and see if that helps.

I'm with you all on being tired. My house is a mess right now and I'm just too tired.

Pri: I would call doctor if you are spotting and haven't been before. Def don't panic though as there are lots of reasons you can spot that are nothing to be alarmed about.

However, it's def worth being looked at and it's a very valid reason to call so don't feel that you are over-reacting either.

The only reason I'd say not to call is if it was after sex as the cervix can be soft and that's one reason you can spot that isn't anything to worry about unless it's a lot.

Hey ladies! I haven't been able to get on in a while due to being away from the office a lot and my phone is having issues.

I haven't gagged on my toothbrush..I am actually brushing and flossing more than I normally would. I also have increased salivation and am slobbering all over my pillow at night...eww. lol

Fading- I had to wear one too after I had my braces...I hated it so much. I was so happy when they said I didn't have to wear it anymore. lol I hope it doesn't continue to give you too much trouble.

Panda- Yay for you not having to take your hormones anymore! :)

Dustergirl- Going back after such a long break is always hard. Hopefully you get back in the swing of things quickly. At least you will get to have a few breaks this year. :)

Anniemac- I feel the tiredness too! I never thought I could feel this exhausted, I feel like I need endless sleep.

Pri- I am happy you got to hear a good heartbeat. :) I think that if you are questioning something then just give them a call. That is what they are there for. I am sure they understand that pregnant women worry..A LOT.

No, I haven't told them yet. I got my BFP the week before we ended for the year, so that was a bit early to tell them. I actually don't go back to the school I teach at until the 27th so won't be telling them til then! I just can't believe summer is almost over and I've slept most of it away!

Has your spotting stopped? Did you call the doctor?

How are you doing, Pri? I would let them know you're spotting. They weren't all that concerned when I was spotting (and it was just a tiny bit like yours), but wanted to know if it continued and suggested pelvic rest. So nothing scary, but might as well tell them. And maybe they'll want you to have an ultrasound and then you get to have fun getting an extra pic of your bean!

Duster - I can't believe I'm sleeping through this summer either (and I live in Buffalo so should be cherishing every second of sunshine!). Twice this week I slept until 10-11! Dh tried to wake me up saying how nice it was outside and I just mumbled that it was physically impossible haha. It's not only exhaustion - I feel actually weak!

Aside from ms, people are sounding pretty good on this thread! So nice to hear!

I just noticed how perfect my sleeping Audrey Hepburn avatar is. If only I looked that cute though...
