First Time Mommies Due February 2016 - Anyone Want to Join Me?

Panda- Sorry that some of the family blabbed. I think there is at least one in the family. Lol I told my mom that she could tell people but no fb because we haven't told hubbys parents. Of course the next morning I have a huge congrats on my page that I deleted as fast as I could...thank goodness.

Fading- I say of you want to buy stuff here and there go for it! Its great to get things over time so its not a lot of money all at once. My hubby thinks I'm crazy for dragging him to yard sales to see if I can find some good stuff, you never know. :)

Ksquared- Good deal on those pants! So exciting that your work took the news so well and are willing to help you out a bit by letting you work from home. :) My symptoms have lessened a lot. I get nausea here and there along with sore boobs in the evenings for some reason. Other than that just feeling bloated.

AFM: Can I just say I am thankful for not having horrible symptoms, but I do hate pants right now. The bloat makes anything around my waist make me feel uncomfortable. Lol I am with pri and think I'm going to find some comfy dresses and skirts to wear until I can for into maternity clothes.

That's my thinking.
We have our wedding and honeymoon coming up in about 2 months, and then in October we have many family birthdays, and then Christmas will be here before we know it. So there's a lot of expensive holidays coming up soon. I want to start buying little things now so that we don't have to worry about buying everything all at once and being broke. xD

Hi everyone - I'd love to join! I just checked out the main Feb. thread but was a little overwhelmed by the 1,000 posts and 84 pregnancies! And then some of the other threads are pretty quiet. This one seems easier to get to know people on. Congratulations to all!

I'm 7w5d (how do I add a ticker in my signature?) and got a heartbeat at 7w. I told immediate family and very best friends after that. Although I'm concerned about a leak: I told my grandmother who is 92 and she might forget it's a secret. Or she might have forgotten I'm pregnant at all already lol. I said, "It'll be nice to have a baby within a month of [my sister]!" And it was met with silence because she probably forgot about her :)

PriandRafa - Sounds like a good plan for your announcements. I did the same thing and bought 2 stretchy skirts this weekend too. Today I'm wearing a dress. I think I can still fit into a few of my nice pants but not for much longer since my belly is started to get slightly bigger now. I have a scan on Aug 3 too!

Jules8 - It makes me feel so much better to hear that someone else has fewer symptoms at this stage! I'm so bloated in the evenings, but it's starting to become an all-day bloat. Right there with you!

Thexfadingpat - Good plan! Once I enter the 2nd tri I think I'll start buying stuff too.

AnnieMac - Welcome and congrats on the heartbeat! Yeah, that main thread is crazy and most of the time it's hard to reply to specific people, so most people just post an update about what's going on with them. Which I totally get, but I prefer the back-and-forth conversations of a smaller thread :). That's so funny about your grandma - I'm guessing it's more likely that she forgot about it too, haha. For the ticker, I got mine at thebump.com and then just grab the code (don't grab the HTML because it won't work on here). Then go to your profile here, click "Edit Signature" and add it there. How are you feeling so far? When's your next appointment?

Afm - I'm SO TIRED today and it's not even lunchtime yet. This may be the most tired I've been so far - most days I feel pretty good and just get sleepy earlier than usual at night. Also my stomach felt slightly nauseous today but only after I ate a Clif bar too fast so not sure if it was morning sickness. I took a 10 weeks photo of my mini bump and thought I'd post. Anyone else have a mini bump pic to share? :flower:

Thanks, ksquared! Cute bump! I'm feeling ok. Tired and get some nausea daily. If I eat immediately it goes away, but I'm afraid I'm going to gain 100 lbs at this rate! I have a checkup later this month (I'm going to be like "Just let me go next door for an another u/s and see it again!!") and the nuchal scan at the end of August.

Fading, I think that's a good idea to start buying things. I'm so superstitious about it, but yeah, that's a lot of money all at once in the last trimester!

Jules, the fb thing happened to my sister. I think she was only 6 weeks and told my parents and then some random uncle who never uses fb wrote something on her page! I modified mine so nothing posts without my approval :)

Cute bump, ksquared726.

I feel weird posting this because I know it's all bloat and not bump, and it's not even much. But here's my 9 week "bump".
(Don't mind my marks, I have psoriasis.)

Welcome Annie! I agree that it's nice to have a smaller group to talk with, especially since its all our first. :) That is too funny about your grandma..I love older people! Lol

Ksquared and fading, look at those little bumps! I'm on the plus side so I'm nervous mine will take a while to look like a real bump, but I'm still tracking.

I added my little 8 week collage. :)

AnniMac - Glad the nausea isn't too bad. My mom told me she had to keep crackers by the bed and eat before she even stood up in the morning. Hopefully the nausea starts lessening in a few weeks as you approach the 2nd tri. :)

Thexfadingpat - Cute little bump! Even if it is mostly bloat, for me since week 8 it felt like my stomach has been sticking out because my uterus is pushing my stomach to a different place and there isn't as much room in there. So I think it definitely counts as a bump! My pic is from the morning before I've eaten anything, so I'm the evening it REALLY sticks out - lol.

Jules - Your collage is so cute! Might not be an obvious bump yet, but give it a few weeks and maybe you'll start to see a mini bump forming :). I started doing my belly pics at 7 weeks so I could track too. And everybody starts showing at a different pace. My sister showed super early and it seems like I'm the same. My mom said she didn't show until closer to 5 month, and all 3 of us have similar body types. There will be a week for us soon when there's a huge difference in our belly pics from the previous week! I guess that's what they mean when they say you've "popped".

Hello Annie!
Congrats on your pregnancy and welcome to our group!
I also think the other group is a bit overwhelming...

Too funny about your grandma, and so cute at the same time :flower:
Nice that you and your sister will be moms at the same time!!! :) :) :)

The signature is actually a different website, you create in there and then copy and paste on your signature here.
I think if you pass your mouse on our ticker, it will tell you the website bump.com or thebump.com

fadingpat: you are right, a lot better to start early and do little by little! Congrats on the wedding   
And cute bump too!!!!!

Ksquared: this week I’m actually feeling less tired, but the previous 2 weeks I honestly don’t know how I made through the day!
Such a cute belly you have in there!!!! Sorry, I did not have flat belly, so I can feel it is tighter, but if I take a pic you will think I’m 4 months pregnant and that’s just my lovely fat belly LOL

Jules: loved your collage!!! Can’t wait for my next ultrasound!!!

AFM: I went shopping on Tuesday after work and I bought some cute long skirts for work! Old Navy has some cute ones on sale! And also bought the band to put on the waist to leave the pants unzipped / unbuttoned. I feel super bloated, but I feel my symptoms are lighter. Still with sore boobs and going to pee every day at 3am. Some cravings and some foods I cant even think about…
Anyone’s doctor said anything about start paying your insurance deductible now? My wants to start charging me starting next appt, but I don’t understand, because baby will be born only next year… it has to count towards next year deductible, not this year.. also, I do have the cheaper plan now, but I will elect a better plan at the end of the year, so my deductible next year will be less than what is now…

Hope everyone is doing well 

PriandRafa - You're so cute! Before you know it, we'll all have giant bumps instead of trying to figure out what's baby and what's bloat or just our own bellies, lol. Glad you found some cute skirts! Yesterday I wore a tighter top and stretchy pencil skirt, and my coworker who knows said she could see my little bump, haha. I'm wondering how long until people who don't know will start noticing. I swear my intern glanced at my belly more than once yesterday. I also had a craving last night for something but I couldn't figure it out and it was driving me nuts and I couldn't sit still! Mind you this was right after we already ate dinner, lol. So we ended up getting a McDonald's cheeseburger because that was the closest thing that sounded right, and after I ate it I was too full to crave anything else. DH thought it was hilarious.

My doctor's office hasn't said anything about a deductible. I have no idea what I'll have to pay for and when. I'm pretty sure I'll pay something for the labor and delivery, but my first appointment they didn't charge me for anything. I probably should ask the next time I go in!

I got my Doppler yesterday and gave it a try, but no luck finding the baby's heartbeat yet. I found an artery (because the sound matched my own heartbeat) and what I think was the placenta, based on YouTube videos for what to listen for. Not sure how often is ok to try, but online it says to only do it for a few minutes at a time and that it's not known how prolonged exposure to the sound waves affects the baby. I figure no more than once a day for a few minutes until I find the heartbeat is ok. Once I find the heartbeat, I'll only do it every few days or so I think.

Ksquared:
I'm contemplating getting a doppler. not sure if I will freak out if I dont hear anything because I'm doing it wrong... Let us know when you hear it :happydance:

Too funny you had a cheeseburger after dinner yesterday!
I am kind of craving hot dogs and I read that this was a :nope: , but then I read more things about "go forward" than "don't eat them" so tonight will be hot dogs for dinner, Brazilian style!

Today I'm hungry, have been eating all morning! :munch:

What type of exercises are you all doing?
I have not being able to do much.. I do stretch every morning, but this is because I had back surgery 2 years ago.
Rainy season here, so walks or swims after work is not happening, and I leave home too early to do it in the morning.. :rain:

I have something funny to tell you :)
I never in my life was called for Jury Duty, and guess what I received in my mail yesterday? haha
Called the doctor this morning requesting the letter to be excused! What are the odds? :)

PriandRafa - Well, still no luck with the Doppler. I tried the last two nights and just now in the morning, but nothing. The one I got was a pretty cheap one from Amazon, and everything I found online said that it's super hard to find the heartbeat this early. I think I'll wait until next weekend to try again. Give baby a full week of growing :).

Hope you enjoyed your hot dogs last night! I haven't been doing ANY exercise. But, I am determined today to try one of these pregnancy workout DVDs my sister gave me. I have a yoga, cardio/toning, and then a couple of just "pregnancy fitness" ones. And two of them have three different discs for each trimester, and one even for after baby's is here. So I definitely have a lot to try! I think I might try the yoga one first since I haven't done any exercise in a while, and my nurse practitioner said it was OK for me to get back into running if I start off really slow - just 1 mile at first and work my way back up. I used to run 6 miles 3x a week! But haven't done that in two months. If you have back issues, you should try yoga for stretching and toning. :)

That's funny about the jury duty - I actually was serving on a jury the week before I got my BFP! And we finished the case two days before my BFP, and I was in such an odd mood and I was the last hold-out in the deliberation room. And I was so emotional after it was over. I guess that was a clue that I was preggo! LOL. And my DH actually has to go in for jury duty on Monday.

Now that it's the weekend, today my big task is to go through my closet and take out clothes that I won't be able to wear until after the baby comes and I slim back down. And then I'm going to go through this big box of maternity clothes my sister gave me and decide what I might wear, and get the clothes all washed and put away. Hope you guys are having a nice Saturday!

Hello everyone!

I had my ultrasound on Thursday and it looked great! I was actually measuring ahead which explains the crazy stretching pains I've had lately. Apparently the little one had a growth spurt. They said it measured 9 weeks and 1 day. I'm keeping my ticker the same though until I get a real due date from obgyn.

The exciting news is heartbeat was 171!! So that means I'm graduated to Obgyn now and they are weaning me off meds. I call obgyn tomorrow to get my first appts scheduled. Also could kinda see face and could see the movement this time so it was really amazing!

Jules - I can't believe they said something on Facebook. I would be so mortified. All my work contacts are on there. Glad you were able to delete it quickly.

xfadingpat - Cute idea for baby announcement! I'm too superstitious to buy anything yet but I've definitely been window shopping and pinning things on pinterest. Hubby thinks i'm crazy. lol

ksquared - Cool you got some maternity clothes already. I've been thinking about getting some maternity jeans with elastic waist. I have lots of empire waist dresses and flow-y style shirts so I think it's just going to be pants soon that I need. Glad your boss was so supportive and nice bump!

Priandrafa - I'm totally bloated, too! And I notice I can't suck my belly in anymore the way I used to be able to even after I ate. As for exercise, I bought a prenatal yoga dvd and a prenatal workout DVD with short 10-15min workouts. I just got in the mail today so I will start tomorrow.

Welcome Anniemac! Excited for you that you already heard heartbeat. My grandmother also keeps forgetting things and has to be reminded I'm pregnant.

Glad everyone is doing well! I was away for a few days with no internet so couldn't read the updates.

Glad I'm not the only ones whose symptoms are easing. I have much less nausea (which means I'm eating more) and my boobs are barely sore. Mostly just the gas/constipation and the fatigue although some days I have little more energy and then the next day I'll be totally exhausted.

Panda - that's an awesome heartbeat! Yay!

And everyone sounds like they're doing really well!

I'm a little nervous today because I had some (bright red) spotting. So I'm supposed to stay off my feet and they'll give me an ultrasound if there's anymore spotting in the next 24 hours. I wish they could just give me one to curb my fears, but I hear this happens sometimes...

Pri- That's too funny about Jury Duty. I have been called 3 times so far, but haven't actually had to serve in a case. It is realllly boring. lol That would be awesome if your doctor can excuse you! :) As for exercising...I am walking when it isn't too hot or raining and just trying not to sit around too much. I want to look into some good videos to start doing.

ksquared- Good luck cleaning out your clothes! :) That is awesome you got some clothes from your sister, hand me downs are great. Maternity clothes are expensive so at least now you won't have to purchase too much.

Panda- So happy you got to hear the heartbeat and all was well with your ultrasound! :) It's so exciting to start seeing a little person grow, just wait until we are all a few months and can see even more.

Annie- I am so sorry you are bleeding some. I know it's hard, but try not to worry and just get some rest. It can be quite normal.

AFM: We finally told my hubbys parents! I am so relieved that all of our close friends and family know now. I have another ultrasound on Wednesday so I think I will use that to announce on facebook. I just need to find a cute idea now. Has anyone come across or have made anything fun to announce on facebook?

Anniemac - so sorry. Having spotting is always a lil scary, but often normal. Hope you get your ultrasound soon so you can relax.

Jules - Good luck on Wed. That's exciting that you are going to announce. Post a copy here so we can see what you come up with. I wish I had some good ideas, lol! My hubby and I do archery so we have been thinking up announcement ideas with that theme. Maybe there's something specific like that you guys could work in?

I'm feeling very moody and panicked today - just worried that something is wrong. I've had slightly more cramps and a little bit of thick whitish/yellow discharge. And not sure if my belly feels as big as it did. So of course I started Googling MMC signs and panicked myself even more. I've called my doctor's office and a nurse asked me a bunch of questions to pass along to one of the OBs, and then she'll call back with the doc's opinion. Anyone ever get that feeling that something is wrong?

Hoping it all goes away tomorrow. Maybe I'll try my Doppler again tonight, but if I can't find a HB again I might just get more panicky!

Sorry I will reply to you guys in a bit!

ksquared, keep us updated on what the doctor says. I think it's normal to be anxious and moody during pregnancy. I just went for a sonogram today after a little spotting and cramping and the baby looked fine with a good heartbeat. When I had my loss, on the other hand, I felt fine. So don't analyze your symptoms too much and just follow your doctor's advice as best as you can. As far as the discharge (and it's not pink or red, that's good!), do you think you might have a yeast infection? The doctor just told me I had one and I hadn't even noticed any discharge or discomfort. Try your best to relax even though it's upsetting. I'll be thinking of you!

Thank you, AnnieMac :hugs:. Glad everything is all good with you! The dr said to call if the twinges and cramps get worse, but they've gotten better :). And I haven't had any more discharge since early afternoon. I think it has been a mixture of working out this weekend, and intercourse yesterday which I've read can cause some increase in discharge. They said not to do any strenuous activity until my next appointment. I think I just got worried for nothing (I hope!). I wish my Doppler would have picked up the heartbeat when I tried it over the weekend so I wouldn't have to worry! But I'm going to avoid trying it again until this weekend.

I just had my first midwife appointment today, and it went good. :)
It was a lot of talking- She gave us a run down of how midwives work vs an OB, took down our medical history, talked about the difference birth location choices, talking about breastfeeding (and already suggested that I start looking up videos and even attending breast feeding groups so that I am prepared ahead of time). And she gave me lots of information to read at home.
I got my requisitions for bloodwork and she sent one off for my 20 weeks ultrasound (for healthy pregnancies they don't even do a 12 week u/s, so I will only be getting one at 20 weeks through them).
And right at the end we got to hear the heartbeat, which was a very strong 170. :happydance:
She also commented that my uterus felt a bit high up for being 10 weeks (she said it felt like I was closer to 12), so asked if I was certain on my LMP, which I am. She said my uterus could just be tilted forward, or because I am pretty skinny is it starting to move above the pelvic bone a bit earlier.
And since she goes by LMP, by EDD is just what I had thought- February 17th.
