Help with MA

Hi,

I was made redundant end of last month ( I had gone back from mat leave last July) so worked six months from retuning back from mat leave. I've now found out I'm 5 weeks pregnant.

My question is will I be entitled to MA? I'm currently not claiming JSA and wasn't going too, will I need to in order to receive MA (if I'm entitled to it)

My last day at work was 23rd jan and if all goes well my due date will be around 30th OCt. I went back to work 23rd July so that's exactly six months.

You need to work out your test period. If you are due 30th October say, you must have worked 26 weeks between 22nd July 2012 and 27th October 2013. Now it looks like you may scrape 26 weeks but I am not sure whether they count full weeks or not, so I would suggest getting some temp work to tide you over to ensure you get ma.
