IVF sucess now in 1st Trimester

Well we decided against the nuchal test mostly bc we wouldn't change anything based on the results. I guess we can revisit the idea with the ob. So, are you sharing what you're having or keeping a secret for now? We ( well mostly I) decided not to find out bc this whole ivf process has felt so unnatural and unsurprising that I wanted at least one surprise moment! My husband would probably find out in a heartbeat if I let him!

You make a good point about having one surprise to enjoy...you've got me thinking..

I don't wan to find out at the moment. Think hubby would as he is so impatient....
But as you said this whole process has been so scientific it's nice to just be pregnant and have a surprise.

It's weird I was looking at the four stages photos we have:-
1) the egg hatching
2) Implant
3) 6w4d scan
4) 13w1d scan.



That an egg turns Into a baby still amazes me.

Was infuriated last night. This friend on fb made a comment a couple of months ago bragging how healthy her and her husband are as they conceived first time. And obviously people who go through ivf aren't. I was a bit angry about her comment but thought as I was slap bang in the middle of it I was being ultra sensitive.
Then yesterday she commented "just shows you shouldn't mess with nature" her friend had 7 Rounds of ivf all failed then got pregnant naturally.
Ohhh I was so angry. I really wanted to message her saying how narrow minded she was and how those comments could be misinterpreted. She would never have any idea what it is like to want a child and not be able to. But I didn't want her to know I was pregnant as not broadcasting it all over fb for that point purely, as I don't know who else is struggling and seeing hearing about someone else being pregnant is like a knife in the heart even though they have no idea how I got pregnant. And didn't want her to know I got pregnant through ivf as its none of her business.
The worst thing is she is a part time duola (kinda like an untrained midwife) and is all about giving birth how you want and empowering you in that sense, which makes her comment even more strange.....

If she comments again I will feel the need to message her to tell her to wind her neck in a bit as she has no idea what it is like, how her comment could drive a knife through the heart of someone struggling.

Soph I'd be fuming about your freinds comments...how crazy...people who say don't mess with nature anger me!

My freind pissed me off last night...a pregnant freind is 1) pregnant after 3 months ttc & 2) due a week before I was so I've blocked her updates on Facebook to protect my sanity!

So freind texts me last night "have you seen updates on preg freind page?" My reply is no..I've blocked her because I don't wanna kno..her reply "yea her bf did this soppy msg" my reply...yes please don't tell me, I blocked her for a reason....

Some people are so insensitive!

So adoption...yes husband is super excited, courses are local nottm centre...one sept an another oct...just awaitin confirmation we can do those ones! Yay!

Was offered a gyno apt with fertility specialist but turned it down as we want to concentrate on the adoption!

Thought this tri wa supposed to mean you are full on energy. I'm so tired. I'm having good sleep (i think anyway) loads of dreams though, but i just don't seem to ever be not tired.
I'm on my 10 day stretch of shifts, so working through until Wednesday (then 4 days off) so that might have something to do with it, and i worked a 12-8 shift yesterday too. (when i seem to do that shift my lower legs really swell and get all tight and firm... so i might have to ask to stop those and just do day shifts all the time..... I said i would go with the flow and see how i feel about doing them (but it is nice to have a week of lie in's....

That's me for the weekend.. work, home bed! (with lots of eating inbetween!!)

Soph, it's funny you mention the tightness in the legs because I get really tight calves after a day of work and was wondering what the heck that was all about. I'm feeling fine but still bleeding occasionally which is awful and scary have a scan on Thursday so can't wait to see the peanut.

Tightness in legs are normal. I used to get spasms in my calves while sleeping with my daughter. It's another pregnancy symptom. My doctor would tell me drink more water and eat bananas. Hope that helps? Get some rest pcsoph and hmommy

My hubs is officially on vacation for the next two weeks. So excited. We are going to do a lot of mini trips. And I'm finally starting to feel better and can eat food. Hopefully I will start to put that weight back on. Pulled out my old box of maternity clothes. So surreal. Never thought I would wear this stuff ever again. Sorry for the rant lol. Hope everyone has a great weekend

Quick update...we got a BIG fat YES to continuing, before it was a "don't see why not" now were officially starting in Sept!

Have a blind company round so we can do the "nursery" up neutral so social worker sees were ready!

I can join in your next "LTTC baby talk" post Feb! Wooo x

Oh blooming hell chick how did u do that? Actually properly fell?

Someone said to me your baby is like a poppyseed inside two thick slices of bread...think how it would be completely unaffected with things like falls...is only when baby is actually at the front an their back to your belly an a fall could hurt them.

I need to buy some casual jogging bottoms or pj's to slob around the house in.
Wearing an old pair of jogging bottoms too tight round bump and hips as I've so much wider all Round too.

Luckily I just bounced down on my butt (padding) but I did bleed last night Thursday's scan cannot come soon enough! If baby is ok, I'll be telling my boss and starting to make the announcements.....I have to soon because I totally have a bump that can't be hidden for much longer.

Do any of you ladies still get crampy? I do and it freaks me out

I don't get cramp, but I get stomach twinges when I sneeze, stand up too quickly.
I am exhausted, seem to deep sleeping but in the morning just sooo tired.
Back aches seem to have stopped.
It's an effort to get up from anywhere now
Legs and ankles swollen today
No cravings, no aversions.
Boobs massive (and I mean massive - hubby loves them gone up 2 cup sizes already) all veiny around and up onto chest area. Nipples large like hobnob buscuits.

Feel confident saying "I'm pregnant" and can't believe in little under 4 weeks I'll be half way gone.
MIL has given me 3 books on pregnancy which are brill, love looking at the stage where I'm at see what the baby looks like or doing....

Hmommy you poor thing. Take care of yourself. Hope Thursdays appointment relaxes you a bit. I see the dr on Thursday too. Cramps on and off. Still nauseous a bit.

Pcsoph did you try any yoga pants? Super comfy. Or husbands sweatpants.

Bidded for a few cheap ones on eBay, so wait and see if I win them.

Over th last three weeks I've taken photos of my bump. Wow the difference over a three week period alone. I've tried to wear the same ish clothes, and stood the same distance away from the mirror.... it's not a low delicate bump but a big all over bump go I g from under boobs to just above bikini line.....
Now off work for 5 long beautiful days!!!!!!


Plus hubbys 2nd wedding anniversary came today. It's a baby grow with "my dad can out run, swim and cycle yours" it's a 6 month old it still looks tiny. It's my first official baby purchase (not counting maternity clothes...)

I've had to buy some more bras (this pregnancy lark is bloody expensive) as I was spilling out of the ones I bought in 1st tri.... only cheap ones but still....

I have really swollen lower legs today. My calves and ankles dead tight, so begging on sofa with feet up now. Off to have hair appt in a bit so a bit of pampering is in order. Plus love having my hair washed, send shivers down my spine!!!

I had my appointment today too. My blood work for the nucial test came back great. Said it came back as the bloodwork of a 21 year old lol. I go back Sept 4. Dr said I might be able to find out what I'm having!! I hope so can't wait. My daughter thinks its a boy but I think another girl. I just want happy and healthy.
