January Snow Angels 40 Tester's 6 BFP's

BJs: Based on temps cd 21, but the OPK is probably confusing it? I'm curious, what happens when you take off your opk results? I'd say definitely around cd 21-23 for O, your temps have remained raised after the dip, so looks like O to me!

AFM: still waiting to O.. hopefully in the next week, sooner the better :flower: going to call the doctor for an appt to get some irregular light bleeding checked out. Hope it's nothing. It's very minor, juse barely more than spotting that I had at cd 8 and 9, happened 1 other cycle too. But rather be safe than sorry! Especially since we are TTC, could be something affecting our chances.

Since I'm gonna be there anyway would it be worth me asking about having a 10 day LP? Does a OB GYN even help with such things or only fertility specialists?? No experience with that stuff... I know it's in the normal range but it's definitely on the short side and I'm worried it's making ttc harder...

Congratulations lockandkey :)

Leftwonderin hope your ok <3

DHBH0930: Have you tried Vitex and vitamin B6 to help with the short luteal phase?

I've found the ob-gyns less than helpful until you've been trying for over a year. Mine dismissed my concern about a short LP and said I must have had a false positive on my OPK. When I was TTC my first, though, I used Vitex and B6 and was able to lengthen my LP by 1-2 days, and conceived after that.

DHBH, there are a few good obgyns out there that will do a HSG or other testing, normally they don't and just focus on the easy birth and women's health stuff. I am seeing an RE now and it was the best choice I ever made. While some supplements can help with your luteal phase you have to be careful you aren't just masking a different issue. Luteal phase defects are caused by a variety of health problems that an endocrinologist is specifically trained to look for and fix. I do take a vitamin B complex but it is specifically because we discovered a disease that ruins my vitamin absorption.

I would be really cautious about vitex, while for some it has been a miracle drug it has caused many others to get seriously screwed up cycles. On the b6, you actually want to take a B-complex instead of just B6. The reason is that your body can't process B6 without the other B vitamins. I take a sublingual B-complex so my body doesn't have to break down the filler in the pill. Make sure you only take the B complex in your luteal phase because it can and will delay ovulation if taken in the follicular phase. (I made that mistake a few months ago)

I would see if you can get in to see an RE. Most of the issues that have a side effect of a luteal phase defect are serious enough that they can be covered by normal insurance. These are things like thyroid problems, PCoS, Hashimotos, excess androgens.

hi ladies, Im back!

Danni, can you sign me up to test on the 15?please and thanks !

I'm out. :( the witch came a day before testing day. 10 day LP this cycle, but did O earlier than usual on CD 25. Hoping next cycle is better! Good luck to those still waiting to test this month!

Bjs2005 I'm sorry the :witch: arrived. Good luck next cycle.

Sorry bjs :hugs:

Thanks Renaendel! I agree I'm a bit too worried to try vitex, but have been using b6, I will take the advice to do b complex instead. Also didn't know about not using it during the whole cycle.

My temp dropped today and OPK is getting dark so should get a positive tomorrow or Monday, so O will be sooner than last couple months :happydance:

My most recent test today cd 13 looks like my first one on CD 15 last month, by the end of cd 15 last month it was basically positive, but it got even darker the day after so cd 16 is when I put it in as positive. So I should have a positive tomorrow afternoon. We BD yesterday. Trying to decide if we should tonight or wait and start bding every day starting tomorrow....

Tested early and got a strong :bfp:! I'm excited/nervous and told OH, he's excited I think especially after our unexpected loss back in Aug. We are more prepared just a few months later and I'm crossing my fingers for a sticky bean.

Congrats! Hoping it's a sticky bean! H&H months!

No problem, it works by effectively reducing your estrogen slightly in the luteal phase which lets progesterone dominate. In the follicular phase you need that estrogen to ovulate. That is why with proper absorption of the b-vitamins your ovulation can be delayed. Hopefully you will have an energy increase in your lp. It does that for me.

Aww, congrats! Fingers crossed for a sticky bean!

My BBT chart seems to indicate that I Ov'd yesterday. I'll have to wait and see what my temp is tomorrow, but this morning I had a .6 degree spike and that temp is higher than the past 12 temps I've taken.

I think the OPK kit I bought is faulty, though. It's a blue dye kit from ClearBlue and the past several tests have had issues with the control line, SOOOO I've pretty much ignored what showed (or didn't) on those readouts and used other signs.

Hubby and I made sure to BD pretty regularly in the week leading up to today, and even BD'd first thing yesterday morning, so I think I'm covered this time. I will likely keep BDing every other day until I know for sure what's going on with my cycle.

Fingers crossed that I actually Ov'd this time! Last month my body tried to Ov and failed, then tried a second time a week or so later, and I ended up with a 40 day cycle. I hate when that happens.

I'm hoping for a more normal 30-ish day cycle this month -- wouldn't that be awesome? lol

Thank you. I was 9dpo based on my chart but I know my body pretty well and think I ovulated early this month based on cramps putting me at 11dpo. If I go by my instinct I ovulated at cd12 when my tracker says cd14.

Can I join you ladies? I used this site constantly when I was TTC and pregnant before but have had a break! My little boy just turned one, and we have been NTNP since then but no luck. Horrible experience first time round TTC, 3 years and 4 m/c before my sticky bean. I have PCOS so temping and OPKs are useless for me :dohh: anyway I'm hoping for a BFP before my wedding in 4 weeks! The witch got me today so I will be testing around the 31st.
Good luck everyone! And congrats to those with BFPs, what a lovely way to start the new year :cloud9:
