June mommies

Anyone else dealing with groin pain on both sides? It hurts to getting up, rolling/moving out of bed. I thought I pulled something, but it is in both and is not going away. hurts to walk. What is this? I am due June 19.

Is it kind of near the hips, or more directly on the groin? I get hip pain at night and it cramps up, I switch sides all night and can't really get comfortable. Then it is very sore the next day and hurts when I walk. But for me I would say it is more on the outside of the hips, not the groin.

Could be SPD, I'm afraid :( The painful rolling and getting out of bed (and getting out of the car?) are strong signs. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Symphysis_pubis_dysfunction

I have very sore hips and struggle to walk sometimes but not like this, I'm sure with me it's just generic pregnancy pain esp from carrying a big bump around but specific hip and groin pain can be SPD. Speak to your MW.

It does sound like possible SPD to me too, I'm afraid. I've got the outside hip pain and lower back pain (mostly sciatic nerve-related for me), and a referral to physio just to be sure there isn't SPD developing, but the midwife was fairly confident that you need to be experiencing pain on the inner portion of the pelvis for an SPD diagnosis. :flower: I'm so sorry you're hurting, it just ain't easy being pregnant.

I had spd last time and again this time, talk to your mw or consultant and theyll refer you to a physio if thats what it is x

Sorry to hear some of you are experiencing lots of pain. Hope you get some relief soon!!

I am wondering what some of you are doing about buying a spring jacket! Mine dont fit me very well anymore and it is warming up here in NY! I have one from my mom and it is a size large, but I need some better alternatives! Thanks!

so heres my story, I am due june 5th had my appointment today at 29 weeks the hospital never sent dr my scan results from my rescan on the 21st of feb at 25 weeks, I had blood work last week nothing was said about that either today they were more concerned with the swelling, nurse said blood pressure was high so now I have to go back to dr. in a week for a check up. I have a feeling he is gonna take me off work. he asked if i could get more rest, but i am in retail and work 44 hrs a week, my work tried to tell me that i have no vacation accrued and they are only paying me 10 hr for last week, my manager is trying to fight that, so my other 2 weeks apparently are not available to me, I told the dr this and reminded him that i have 2 children at home so very doubtful to get rest and put my feet up, I am worried about going next monday that it is gonna be worse, baby is definetly not ready to come and i really cant be put on bed rest. sorry about the length had to vent some where. I was hoping to work till 36 weeks but have a feeling im not even gonna make it to 32 weeks. Heres to hoping that my blood pressure can go back down and not get worse
thanks ladies for reading even if no reply i needed that

hey ladies, I also have bad groin pain but midwife wont entertain the idea of SPD. it does hurt to get up out of bed, to roll over on my side, to walk and to sleep too. It made swimming impossible well I have not been able to swim or exercise since second trimester the pain is pretty bad. Any ideas on what to do?
I have tried heat therapy and using different safe creams outside the affected area but that does not last...

Yay! I'll be joining you guys tomorrow! :) Due June 20th with a baby boy, FTM! I'm going to read back through the post tomorrow morning to see who is all here!

It is the groin, nt hips.

I know how you feel....:flower:

@Destin - physio is short for physiotherapist = physical therapist ... slightly different names in different countries perhaps? They'll observe how you move (walking, sitting, getting up off a bed) and help you find more comfortable ways of doing those things. Also you'll be taught simple exercises to ease the discomfort/pain. There's a specialist obstetric physiotherapy unit at my hospital which is brilliant, they understand pregnancy pain like no one else.

@mommy12 - that SUCKS hon, I am so sorry you are feeling so crappy and that your workplace is being so obstructive. You're in Ontario, right? You might be able to access some help through your local Community Health Centre.

In happy news, I have the day off today! :happydance: Also it's sunny! :happydance: Our cherry tree is blooming! :happydance: Despite a crappy night, how can I not be happy on a day like this?

Hey hon. No advice but sending hugs, I feel your pain. I've been on bed rest since 16 weeks with high bp, last night it was up to 198/125, think they're giving me steroids next week as well as a growth scan but it's likely our (very) little one will be coming before 32 weeks too.

Hi Ladies,

Im also due 5th June cant wait for our little man to arrive :happydance:
