Kate McCann releasing a book...

Isn't Gerry McCann just a delight. Between that comment and comparing the loss of his daughter to "the feeling you get when you realise you've gone overdrawn on your student loan" paint a picture of a perfect family figure. Not.

I know that people say 'they shouldn't have left their kids on their own that night', but they have paid a huge price for that action. At the end of the day, nobody is perfect, and they will regret that for the rest of their lives.

how on earth you can say that is beyond me!!!

this isnt an everyday mistake that you just leave your children!!!!

it is a PLANNED situation that as a parent you know can lead into something bad.

It is down right neglectful and they deserve to be punished and regret it everyday...the thing is they see no wrong in leaving their children??? hmmmm

I think they are being punished in the most horrific way possible - they lost their little girl. I doubt there is a minute goes by when they don't regret what they did.

Richard and Judy were on tv earlier, and they said they went to the place where Madeline went missing. They said they could understand how the Mcanns got the feeling that it would be safe to leave their kids in bed, as it felt like it was the same as sitting in the garden nearby. I don't think they were being neglectful, as I'm sure they would not have left them if they had thought they were putting their children in danger.

You actually saw Richard & Judy say those exact words? Why, as a country, are we defending parents who, at the LEAST, are guilty of serious neglect? Jesus.

I think people in their desire to give sympathy to parents whose child has been supposidley 'snatched' feel they have to give a bit of support & in turn there is this misguided suggestion that they have to somehow defend them..... it's 'just like sitting in your garden' - course it is. :dohh: Rubbish.

Like others have said, this didn't happen one night as an 'off chance', this was a planned & repeated action by 'parents' who even chose to ignore their daughter asking them why they didn't come why she woke. The thought of my child saying that & then STILL repeating that action makes me sick. To then choose to TELL people this happened too - I just don't understand. :nope:

You know what my issue is - it's not a question of whether it's a safe AREA, it's an issue of if those children woke they had been ABANDONED in a foreign hotel room for gods sake. Madeleine could have got out of bed, got anything from that room, swallowd it, electrocuted herself, cut herself, banged her head - do I need to go on?

As for what you said about them not being neglectful.....have you learnt nothing from the outcome of this 'case'?! I'm sorry - if in light of what happened you STILL don't think they were being neglectful......:nope: What more would they need to do? (or not do?)

BRB, just need to nip to the supermarket for 15 minutes, just gonna leave my two children here cos, well, I live in a safe area so it's ok.....

I did not, at any point say it is ok you leave your children alone.

I do think, however, and the Mcanns made a bad choice.

I see it as pointless now to argue over the rights and wrongs of leaving children alone - you shouldn't do it - end of. I think is more helpful now to support Kate and Gerry in finding out what happened to their Daughter.

I never said you didn't think!?

Fair point, but I don't think there's anything we (as the public) can do, I think it has to be left to the police. People who choose to support them have every right to, who's the say for certain whether what I believe (that the McCanns were involved) is true......but there needs to be acceptance that people who DON'T support them have very good reasons for that & we're not just heartless people with no compassion!

Just out of curiosity dizzymum, what is it that you base your opinion on? Mine are based on evidential proof, police records, interviews with the McCann's etc. Not saying your theory is wrong at all, I just wondered why, when there is no evidence to suggest an abduction ever took place at the apartment that night, you still believe she was abducted?

According to the sun today the McCanns have written and asked the PM to re open the case

I saw that on This Morning, Kala. Kate has said that "funds are running low" so maybe that's why? Along with the book. Perhaps they need to pay off a mortgage on another huge house?

You see, to me, the whole 'just like sitting in your garden' comment doesn't sit right either. If you were dining with friends in your garden late evening, why would you leave your front door unlocked when you children are asleep upstairs??

You wouldn't!! They wouldn't! No-one would!

So why would they go out to dinner with friends in a foriegn country, leaving 3 children alone in an unlocked appartment, especially bearing in mind what Madeliene had said the previous evening about crying etc..........

Makes no sense at all. I'm really begining to think that poor little girl died before they went out for dinner on the 3rd May. I don't believe they 'killed' her, but for some reason they did not want a post-morten done at that time in that poor girl's life for what ever reason, so the ball began rolling from there, the whole evening was a set up.........

I wonder if its pressure from other people and with the book coming out they realsie its the expected thing to do?

Meanwhile it has emerged that four families rented the McCanns' holiday apartment before bungling Portuguese cops sent in forensic experts, it emerged yesterday.

The flat was only sealed 13 weeks later after horrified British detectives arrived to review the case.

Have you got a link to the official files for that Hon? ... not for a UK paper (they make stuff up as they go along lol), but an official reference

yeh ill find it for you tonight when lo goes to bed

how accurate are the police records though? I mean they stuffed up big time & lots of times, so who's too say they didn't try to cover their backs in some of their records ..... not saying they have but just throwing it out there

Some of the records may be a bit hit and miss. But I can't see them having made THAT many mistakes without having had the whole PJ team on the madeleine case fired for incompotence.

This is weird

They want the case re-opening considering constantly stating there is 'no evidence to suggest Madeleine has come to any harm' and 'there is no evidence to suggest she is not still alive'.....

So, what 'evidence' do they want reviewing?! They chose not to follow up on some leads, they wanted the dogs findings ignored...so what, they have changed their minds?

Has Kate decided to answer their questions now?

They've made it obvious they think the PJ investigation of the whole case was botched.

Call me sinister but I think it's more a case of, we know they've got nothing on us, & we need to keep this going!

It got my goat before how they were saying 'a little British girl is missing & the authorities aren't doing anything'.

I'm sorry but you know.......if she WAS abducted, there is kind of nothing more the authorities can do really. There's not a scrap of evidence, you made the choice to practically put a death warrant on her head by ignoring advice about not revealing about her eye. I don't think for a second she was abducted but we're four years on. There are thousands of children missing worldwide & every single parent of those children could say the same thing.....the McCanns are just 'lucky' in the sense they are so well connected that their case has stayed so high profile

I'm not entirely sure, but further down the page it mentions the Freemasons. They're very powerful people. Say they had been searching for Madeleine and this particular man had come across either her body or some very strong evidence against the McCann's, he could have very easily have been "seen to" without any questions asked

No they haven't .... read it carefully Kala and you'll see that what they are actually asking for is that the UK police records be released (only to them, not to the general public) so that they (the McCanns) can arrange for an 'independent' review of the case.

Our Government can't re-open the case in any case, and they know that ... it's not the UK's case to re-open. If they asked the Portuguese Gov't to re-open the case (which they could do at any time) and agreed to take part in a re-construction and to answer questions then it would be re-opened in an instant.

It's all smoke and mirrors from them :nope:

I don't understand why they wouldn't take part in a reconstruction? If they had nothing to hide of course

Isn't Gerry McCann just a delight. Between that comment and comparing the loss of his daughter to "the feeling you get when you realise you've gone overdrawn on your student loan" paint a picture of a perfect family figure. Not.

Yes he did :nope:

my brother's a freemason ...

they're not THAT bad, it's not a huge
secretive club or anything and i don't think if my brother
did commit a crime they'd cover it up for him
they may have some powerful members but i
wouldn't go around accusing the freemasons
of hiding things especially if you don't know about
the things they actually do and the money they
raise for events and charities ...

just saying :flower:

I just heard the audio of Gerry whispering "Don't talk" to Kate at the first appeal :/
