Who's going to know if you go or not? You're not going to learn much more about the place than you know already, and you have the photos to prove it, eg, the ones being published everywhere. I don't fancy wasting any time at all going there to have my nose rubbed in the fact I was done over by scum.

PLEASE PEOPLE DONT GO IM 14 AND NOT HAVING KIDS OR ANYTHING BUT IV BEEN AND I SEEN UR SITE AND JOINED SO I COULD TELL YOU THAT ITS REALLY BAD ITS OVER PRICED AND ITS JUST LIKE A LOAD OF SHED IN A MUDDY FIELD THATS RUN BY WHAT LOOKS LIKE GIPSYS BECAUSE ON THE WAY IN THERE IS LOADZ OF CARAVAN FOR THEM AND THEM WELCOME IS BAD THE SIGN TO SAY "ENTRANCE THIS WAY" WAS A A4 BIT OV PAPER ON A CONE!! AND MY 10 AND 5 YR OLD BROTHERS HATED IT. THERE WAS LOADZ OF PEOPLE COMPLAINING!! ITS NOT WORTH IT DONT GO!! THX x.

YOU CAN NOT LET A HUSKY OFF THE LEAD EVER, FULL STOP, PERIOD.

They will go from friendly doggie to efficient hunter and killer in 0.2 seconds.

hypnorm and Terry, did you see this post a few pages back? :dohh:

Yeh i did unfortunatley i did.
Huskies are getting quite popular as pets and having worked as a veterinary nurse i have worked with afew and have never met an aggressive one yet.
There are afew locals how happily let theirs of the lead and also do agility with them.
As for the killer comment!! ANY breed of dog can go from friend to killer in a matter of seconds so that comment is a load of poo!

but i dont want to get in to a doggie debate! i just feel sorry for the kids who are getting their christmases ruined.

It has never been suggested that huskies are wild animals, viscious, aggressive, or prone to attacking people!!!!! Quite the opposite, as has already been mentioned - they are extremely affectionate as a breed and are fantastic family members... (just not for the unprepared).

I am surprised that a professional expert veterinary nurse  such as yourself seems completely oblivious to the fact that huskies have an extremely strong prey drive, and at the flick of a switch will happily hunt and kill other animals and birds. Yes, any dog can hunt and kill. But huskies have a much stronger drive than most and are far more efficient at it!

If you read the Breed Club websites which offer sound advice to anyone considering this wonderful breed, as well as the websites of the reputable breeders THEY RECOMMEND THAT A HUSKY IS NEVER LET OFF A LEAD UNLESS IN A SECURE AND ENCLOSED SPACE. So I will leave it to each individual who to listen to on this issue: someone who sees a few random huskies coming through the vets, or the country's leading experts in the breed who have been gracious enough to provide a wealth of knowledge and information via their websites????? If anyone is interested in learning more about huskies, or interested in where they may be able to meet more in less unpleasant and free surroundings, please look up:

'Make your own adult mind up'? Excuse me but these people have been conned out of alot of money. They obviously have made there mind up due to so many complaints, its just just one or two we are talking hundreds.
Sorry but your post just annoyed me.

We have got tickets to go this Sunday and will have to go to stand any remote possibility of reclaiming our money through Barclaycard, I am so worried about going as we have two toddlers who think the world is a magical place and now I'm worried that they'll go and see this dump and the whole magic of Christmas will be ruined. We are not mentioning to them that we are going to lapland we are just telling them that we are going to meet Nanna and Grandad we will stay as short a time as possible and then go and find somewhere nice to go afterwards.
I'll let you know how we get on.....
go and have a look all the rides are free my son loved it go at 4pm all the photos are the worst ones make your own mind up its a shame people in this country cant stick together with other matters that need moaning at.:

someone who sees a few random huskies coming through the vets,

I think you have completely contradicted your self above.
you quoted that they could be killers in a matter of seconds!

there is no need to be rude about the VN comment, i have experience with huskies so I am not talking completely without knowledge i dont have to give you my life history, you dont even say where you are or who your are just that you race...

The RSPCA have said that they are happy with the dogs.

I dont think that they should be randomly patted by kids and adults though as all animals need their space, and get fed up pretty quickly.

The kennel club doesn't have very good reputation at the moment.
our friend contacted the club you mentioned and found them very unhelpful and rude when she phoned for advice recently.

i am sorry that you feel that way i dont mean to affend any body with my advice have you been yet maybe i got a better day

Sorry lol , im in a bad mood and you got the brunt of it
I do see where you are coming from , the post that you quoted.
Maybe they have made some changes? Im not sure but what i know for sure is its overpriced.
I just hope everyone can get there money back who were having to fork out for everything.

First time post - be gentle with me...

I haven't been - in fact, I hadn't heard about it until I saw on the BBC website about the recent complaints. Had I known about it in advance and had our child been home by this Christmas, I might have booked. When you have waited over 8 years for your child and been through tons of paperwork to be approved for adoption and then travelled to the other side of the world to bring him home from an orphanage where he never even knew what Christmas was you just want to spoil him!

I think there were a few clues that it could be a disaster but they were so subtle they were very difficult to spot. For example, a car park that holds 1500 cars (why on earth did the ads keep referring to that in advance). Presumably the organisers want to fill the car park. If each car had 2 adults and 2 children in that would mean 6,000 people at any one time. However, the ads say 'strictly limited numbers' giving the impression that there will be no queues, etc. If there are 3,000 children every 4 hours then Father Christmas would have 4.8 seconds with each child - so no wonder there are queues.

They cannot continue to allow this number of people to enter and only have one Father Christmas.

The man who was interviewed by Radio Solent said 'It looks like the British public just want to queue to see Father Christmas and not do any of the other things'. If I were at a Christmas park I'd rather see Father Christmas than eat burger and chips or go on a waltzer. So obviously that's going to be the main attraction!

I can confirm they were letting a max of 5,000 people in a day. I can also confirm that there was some problems within the management before hand with one person leaving/being fired two weeks before the event.

The chief of photography and website creator is Steven Cragg.

There is a report on this on the 10:00 evening news on STV (ITV in England?)

The fact that they have now made the funfair free of charge is just rubbing our noses in it!

We when last sat with our two young boys they went on a couple of rides each but it was sooooo much money to keep forking out on top of the entrance fee I felt like I was being a complete scrooge to say no sorry kids you can't go on anymore.

This xmas money making project has not been organised properly and shouldn't be allowed to continue.

Lapland aside, can i just say i'm so pleased you finally have your child? When will he be home? :hugs:

Not in time for Christmas - sigh!

Maybe next year.

It'll be another childless Christmas but the end is in sight.

I just saw this place on Sky News. Disgusting that they charge £100 for a family of four... Id be reluctant to pay anything at all for it.

Hi,

I too am one of the unlucky ones who has purchased tickets for the 13th, was just wondering if Trading Standards do shut it down, will you get a refund if you paid by Debit Card ???

I don't mean to sound unfeeling but if you have already bought tickets you might as well go. Then as people have said the place probably looks a lot better after dark. The lights will seem better and the tacky sheds won't look half as bad. If the Santa queue is smaller then that would be a bonus but I would plan on bringing your own mince pies if "festive burgers" aren't your thing.

Things generally look much better at night.

Trading Standards won't be able to just close the place down.

Environmental Health may be able to if there is evidence that the hygiene is a danger to the health of the general public (and from what we've read about the food and toilets that may well be the case).
