Long Term Trying To Conceive Vent Thread

About a year ago my sister told me if we needed help she would be up for being our surrogate. I thought the gesture was very nice but since we just started talking to our dr about fertility issues and havent even gone through IVF ourselves I told her that we probably wouldnt be doing them.

On the phone my Sister told me today to hurry and and decide if I want to use her as a surrogate as she is getting to old to carry a baby. .... she is younger than I am :(

Wow... :dohh: Most people just don't get it. Any of it.

My hubby's sister offered to carry a baby for us right when she found out we were trying and had not yet succeeded (only 10 months at that point.) She's 14 years older than me and has never had a child. I tried to see it as a nice gesture, but I really wonder why she thought that was a good idea.

Is there a separate vent thread for LTTTC your first child?

a little rant on behalf of other mums at my fertility clinic (as I manage to handle it ok but think its very, very badly planned)

my fertility clinic is in the hospitals neo-natal gynecology ward half way into the maternity floor and is shared with the regular pregnancy area so you have to cue up for ultra sounds, tests and appointments with all the pregnant ladies (many who bring their children) after walking past the ward with all the newborns... seems a little insensitive really when they have the same equipment in 2 other wards (A+E and radiology)

Same as my hospital. One appointment was delayed by an hour and a half and I had to wait surrounded by pregnant ladies and babies. The women sat next to me just complained about their pregnancy the whole time. I text my husband to tell him I was in hell, and almost broke down in tears at one point. Horrible planning!

do you know what i dont get?!?!!?!!? my fertility office shares a building with a pediatricians office! So i have to walk past their office to go upstairs to the FS!!! its like this is depressing!

Just found out my day 21 prig. bloods on 50 mg clomid were only 1.4 so I didn't ovulate. I know it can work at a higher dose, just need to get this out. Really thought I would at least ovulate on meds. I have not gotten any diagnosis and have no idea why my body is being so difficult! Just feeling very lost and alone and frankly depressed. Never mind guilty. Sorry to go on just having a very hard day.

People who already have children.... Yes I understand that second time infertility can be tough, but be grateful that you got to experience the miracle of pregnancy and birth at least once. Thanks those of us still wishing for our first baby in our arms.

Af got me today, seems like the usual thing after so many cycles I should be getting used to it but I am so deeply affected I cant even cry anymore, it's just like I finally realised that it's never going to happen for us naturally. It's the end of natural TTC for us, I simply cannot take it any more, it's getting worse, my stats are getting worse, we are almost at the edge of divorcing each other, Dh's SA is not getting any better despite tonnes of vitamins. TCM seems to be working miracles for others, did more harm than good for me, changed 3 practitioners and still nowhere nearer that ever elusive BFP. Moving to IVf now. strange feeling depressed and totally devastated that nothing is happening naturally for us at the same time hopeful and excited that we may have a real chance at becoming parents finally

cntrygrl, I am with you, LTTTC your first child brings on terrible fears for the future. I would like to have more than one child but keep wondering if it's even an option now after LTTTC for so long

Thanks ladies for this vent thread.May I join you all.
I have been trying for 9 months now after my 2nd miscarriage but no luck yet.I concieved my 2nd one after 1.5yrs of LTTC,only to miscarry :(
I am so frustrated. This is the only program runs in my brain always with no shut option :( What to do?Why is it not happening to me.We are married for almost 6yrs now and had 2 miscarriages.Everyone around seems to be pregnant.Everyone asking us when are we going to plan our first baby.I am so sick of answering all.I am sick of failed clomid cycles and I am frustrated of BFN's every month.
The losses and LTTC in between has really changed me.I am thankful to my angels for allowing me to feel the pregnancy for sometime. But I am sorry I was not able to carry them.
Sorry girls for the long vent. But this is the only place where I can be myself.Else everywhere I go I wear my brave face and pretend that TTC is only a secondary thing in my life.
Thanks for reading girls.I feel much better now.

Yes there is a vent thread on the TTC #1 thread

Two things today:

1) Why would my body ovulate on clomid Cycle 1 perfectly and not at all on the second cycle, that's just cruel!

2) I'm so thankfull that while my clinic is based the the maternity building they have a dicereet back door with a seperate waiting area. That said why the hell was some couple walking through with a 6 month old baby. Yes maybe they were in for treatment but it's completely unacceptable to bring a baby to a fertility clinic!

LoveCakes-- Thanks, but that thread seems more for people newly TTC #1. I was asking about a long term trying to conceive #1 vent thread.

Sadly it's one or the other although from the vibe in TTC #1, lots of us over there are LTTC #1.

So my neighbour, who is 25, on benefits with one kid already, announced she's pregnant. Doesn't work out of choice, as she says she made the choice to have kids rather than a job. Feeling a little sour about it.

if she up the duffers she must have a partner - does he not work?

It's amazing how many women keep having kids to get government assistance. My personal opinion is that there should be mandatory birth control as soon as you apply for government assistance. If you can't afford the children you have you shouldn't be having more children you can't afford.

You could always request an official LTTC#1 vent thread from the moderators...or you could start one on your own. :)

DBZ-- You can't start your own they get shutdown automatically.

She does have a partner but he doesn't live with them as she wouldnt be entitled to as many benefits as he does have a job...

Hey Country Girl

Not sure if you are interested but you are more than welcome to join out LTTTC #1 Thread. https://babyandbump.momtastic.com/p...support-group-please-share-your-story-63.html

We share our stories and complain and give each other encouragement. It is for women who do not have any children. Some have never had a BFP (like me) some have had them but they were chemicals or miscarriages, and some have carried almost to term but lost the baby. If you are interested in joining just click on the link and start talking.
